1970 Chevrolet Camaro Ss on 2040-cars
Coachella, California, United States
Nut and Bolt restoration. Professionally built. Everything has been gone through and rebuilt,
refreshed, or replaced if needed. This is teetering on the line of being a #1 condition car.
Numbers matching 350 ci and TH350 transmission. She was rated 300 horsepower from the factory and the 3 speed was a
nice upgrade in 1970, making freeway speeds a lot smoother. The engine and trans were completely rebuilt and
resealed. No smoke, no stutter, no hesitation. She runs cool and crisp. Plenty of pep, and ultra-smooth shift
points. A wonderful exhaust note. Quiet in the cockpit but you will know it’s a healthy V8 when you put your foot
in it. Silky smooth power steering, everything on the car is new. Suspension feels great. Not too soft, not too
harsh. Driveshaft is balanced and there’s no vibrations or wandering like so many old cars tend to project. 12
bolt posi rear-end handles the power with ease. Welded rear sway bar brackets as expected on the SS, she is really
ready to hit the road. Power disc brakes up front with no diving, no shaking. Her road manners are excellent. One
hand on the wheel going 75 in the left lane no problem. Her mechanicals are properly sorted and it’s easy to
notice when you get behind the wheel. Front to back, she is all dialed.
The body and paint are just outstanding.
Inside the car is as cool as the outside. A smooth blend of 100% original equipment and some new touches that are
needed on a 51-year-old car. The carpet and seat covers have been refreshed. The springs and foam inside the seats
are wonderful, no aches and pains after an hour cruise. The wood trim option is aged to perfection. The original
gauges are nice and clear, illumination and dimming all in working order. The 8k tach is one of the SS features
that really stands out. No cracks in the dash, everything is tidy and nice. AC blows cold and the AM radio works
awesome. The console appears to be original, including operational light, with some signs of wear. Lap belts appear
to be original, and the overhead shoulder belts are in such great condition

Chevy Chaparral 2X Vision Gran Turismo concept blends the past and the future
Wed, 19 Nov 2014The Chevrolet Chaparral 2X Vision Gran Turismo is the rare concept car that salutes a seminal moment in history, yet also borders on science fiction.
Revealed Wednesday at the Los Angeles Auto Show, the concept uses the name of one of Chevy's historic racing partnerships, with Chaparral Racing, which dates to the 1960s. Chaparrals raced successfully at a range of levels, including IndyCar, Trans-Am and SCCA competition.
But the history ends there, as the concept's main purpose is as a racecar in a downloadable update for the PlayStation 3 game Gran Turismo 6.
First privately owned Corvette Stingray blitzes 1/4 mile in 12.23 at 114.88 mph
Tue, 01 Oct 2013Chevrolet's latest road rocket, the Corvette Stingray, is a very quick car. If one needs further proof of that, we recommend they take a look at this video from Hennessey of what is claimed to be the first privately owned C7 Corvette to make a pass down the quarter mile. Not just any quarter mile, mind, this black C7 blitzed its way down the tuner's primary testing dragstrip. The Chevrolet ran the quarter in just 12.23 seconds at 114.88 miles per hour. That is a very quick time for a stock car.
Equipped with the Z51 package and a six-speed automatic transmission, not only does the C7 run a solid time, but it does so with little to no drama. That won't last though, as Hennessey will likely return it to its owner with far more power - we just hope they show a drag run of the completed product. Take a look below to watch the C7's 12.23-second run on video.
GM investing $167m in Spring Hill for new midsize vehicles
Tue, 06 Aug 2013General Motors has announced a large investment in its Spring Hill, Tennessee facility. The former home of Saturn production will be getting a $167 million addition to a previously announced $183 million, to cover a pair of new midsize vehicles. The investment is expected to create 1,800 jobs at the factory.
That $350 million is being divvied up for a pair of programs at Spring Hill. The first will take the bulk of the money ($223 million) and create 1,000 of the 1,800 jobs, while the other will take the remaining $127 million and generate the leftover 800 positions. But GM says the investment will cover "midsize vehicle programs." So what could they be?
The leading candidate in our minds is a new crossover for Buick, called the Anthem, that will slot between the Encore and Enclave, but will be slightly smaller than the Equinox and Terrain. As we've explained, the new model will likely be the first product to sport GM's new D2UX platform, which will eventually replace both the Delta and Theta platforms. Spring Hill is already building the Equinox, so there could be some credence to this theory.
