I have for sale my 1975 trans am 455 high performance. It is not numbersmatching but is put together with select high performance components to enhancethe power output. Don't let looks fool you. I bought it from the originalowner who had put a round port HO 455 race engine in it not long after he boughtit new.. It was taken out and now has a balanced and blueprinted 455 highperformance engine with 1971 #96 gto heads( 9.0 compression on a 455) stockwould be 7.6 compression and a1973 gto turbo 400 transmission with a workingdownshift switch on gas pedal like the 73-74 super duty. Stock 1975's wouldhave a turbo 350 with kick down cable. The Super Duty engine was rated at 290hp,actual is about 370hp. This engine has over 400hp. SD 1/4 mile stock was 13.5.This car can do a 12 second 1/4 mile. If you know anything about 75 transam's, the engines were weak(185hp for 400ic to 200hp for 455ci) .This carhas 390 gears (256 gears were stock). The engine, transmission, and rear end havebeen built with high quality parts. I changed the oil and bolted MT slicks on itjust to see the shift points in drive. It chirped the slicks from first tosecond at 5400rpm and shifted into third at 5400pm. Perfect! It has no leaks, squeaks, knocks, or whines. Oil pressure is around 80 psi cold. Hot is 25 to 30psi at idle with manual gauge inside car. The car looks factory stock under thehood with stock intake and quadrajet and out side with rally 2 wheels all round. You can set the choke, turn the key and it fires right up like from the factory.Everything is there to hook up the AC. The compressor is not shown but it goeswith the car. It does have a brand new aluminum radiator, starter, alternator, horns, master cylinder, wind shield wash

GM recalling over 40,000 Chevy, Pontiac and Saturn models over fuel pump woes

Mon, 01 Oct 2012

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has issued a recall for a number of General Motors cars and crossovers bought or currently registered in the hot-climate states of Arkansas, Arizona, California, Nevada, Oklahoma and Texas. As many as 40,859 units consisting of the 2007 Chevrolet Equinox, Pontiac Torrent and Saturn Ion and the 2007-2009 Chevrolet Cobalt (shown) and its Pontiac G5 twin are being recalled for potential fuel leaks.
This recall is being issued due to potentially faulty fuel pump components that can crack and cause gasoline to leak from the return or supply ports and possibly cause a fire. NHTSA has not indicated how many fuel leaks or vehicle fires have been reported. As a fix, GM will replace the fuel pump modules on all affected vehicles free of charge. Since Pontiac and Saturn have been shuttered, owners will be able to go to another GM-brand dealership to have their vehicles repaired.
While the list of affected cars and crossovers varies by state and model year, if you own any of these models and live in Arizona, California, Florida, Nevada, Oklahoma or Texas, be sure to check the official notice below for more details.

Official USPS Muscle Cars stamps coming to a mailbox near you

Thu, 21 Feb 2013

As much as our digital lives have cut down on our trips to the post office, there are still times that sending "snail mail" is necessary. With us car lovers in mind and philately in their hearts, the good folks at the United States Postal Service will introduce a new stamp design called "Muscle Cars" starting on February 22.
Designed by artist Tom Fritz, the new collection of stamps consist of five classic muscle cars: 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona, 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS, 1967 Shelby GT-500, 1966 Pontiac GTO and 1970 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda. In addition to just the stamps, the USPS is also commemorating the new series with plenty of collectable memorabilia. Previous car-related stamps include 50s Sporty Cars from 2005 and 50s Fins and Chrome from 2008.

STUDY: Ford owns brand loyalty in 2009; Scorned Saturn, Pontiac buyers will look outside of GM

Fri, 16 Oct 2009

Ford buyers appear to love their cars more than customers of any other automotive brand, returning back to the American automaker when it comes time to purchase their next vehicle. According to a study by Experian Automotive, six of the top 10 vehicles for customer brand loyalty wear badges from the Blue Oval. That includes the Ford Fusion (62.4 percent), Ford Edge (57.9 percent), Ford Five Hundred/Taurus (56 percent), Ford Freestyle (51.9 percent), Ford Escape (49.4 percent) and the Ford Focus (47.57 percent).
Other vehicles making up the top 10 include the Toyota Prius (52 percent), Chevy Impala (51.7 percent), Toyota Camry (47.8 percent) and Toyota Corolla (47.56 percent). This brings up an interesting question: With the closing of automotive brands like Saturn and Pontiac, where are those buyers to turn for their next automotive purchase?
Apparently, not back to General Motors. According to Experian, Pontiac owners are most likely to look to the Ford lineup for their next car or truck and Saturn shoppers will switch to Toyota or Honda - not particularly surprising given that Saturn was meant to compete with import brands. Experian predicts that GM's overall market share will fall from 20 percent to about 17.5 percent, with most of the slack being picked up by Ford, Honda and Toyota.
