1984 Lotus Turbo Esprit For Autocross Race Parts on 2040-cars

This auction is for a 1984 Lotus Esprit and comes with no registration or title. I purchased this as a parts car for the rebuild that I am doing on another Lotus Esprit. This is a rolling chassis with all the suspension parts, shifter, some shifter linkage, steering rack, a steering column (not assembled in the car). The steering column lock assembly works but is damaged (see pic). There is no ignition switch or key. There is no wire harnesses, no HVAC system. What you see in the pictures is what is for sale. I have some other G series parts that I will be listing separately and are not included in this auction. Contact me for info on these It would make a great starting package to make a light autocross race car. Or purchase this as a replacement frame and suspension for your current lotus car. There appeared to be an engine fire. You can see that the passenger side tank area and inner fender wall has been damaged. The outside fender wall appears to just have surface blisters. The body has hair line paint and/or gel coat cracking throughout This is sold as is, where is. The buyer will need to pick this up within 2 weeks of the end of the auction. E-Bay did not allow me to list this auction by selecting No Title/No Registration. So I selected the Rebuilt, Rebuildable & Reconstructed. Lotus honors F1 efforts with limited-edition Exige LF1
Tue, 10 Jun 2014Lotus has announced a new, special edition of its hardcore Exige for customers in the UK and Europe. Limited to just 81 units (for the Lotus Formula One team's 81 victories), the new Exige LF1 is the ultimate accessory for fans of the British manufacturer's Formula One efforts.
Befitting of a car inspired by the Lotus E22, this particular Exige is finished in the team's traditional black and gold colors, complete with red accents inspired by the F1 racer. The exterior is further enhanced with unique badges that proclaim the LF1's limited-edition status. Matte gold wheels have also been fitted, just like this Lotus' big brother.
This isn't purely a paint-and-stickers job, though. Lotus has also touched up the cabin, offering up black leather and "technical fabric," complete with gold contrast stitching and piping. The seat backs and floor mats feature embroidered logos, while an individually numbered, carbon-fiber plaque sits on the LF1's dash.
Lotus confirms new Elise S Cup
Tue, 09 Sep 2014Head on over to the Lotus website, and though the Elise isn't offered in the United States anymore, buyers in other markets can choose between numerous models: there's the base Elise, the Elise Club Racer, the Elise S and the Elise S Club Racer, and that's before even getting into the even more extreme Exige that's also based on the Elise. Track-day enthusiasts can also go for the full-on Elise S Cup R, but now the British sportscar manufacturer has confirmed a new variant.
Called the Elise S Cup, it slots in between the CR and the Cup R as an extreme performance model that can actually be driven to the track and back home on public roads. The S designation tells us it packs the 1.8-liter supercharged four that already produces 217 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque in the existing Elise S, Elise S CR and Elise S Cup R, but as we saw when Lotus was testing the new variant around the Nürburgring, the Elise S Cup packs some key upgrades.
It's got an aero kit - including front splitter, winglets, side skirts, rear diffuser and rear wing - that's more aggressive than other road-going models (though apparently less extreme than the track-focused S Cup R), helping to generate 145 lbs of downforce at 100 mph and 275 lbs at top speed and besting the Elise S around the Lotus test track by an impressive three seconds.
Lotus Exige S tears the roof off

Imagine Porsche took the Cayman, which is essentially the coupe version of the Boxster, and turned it into a convertible. Wouldn't make much sense, would it? Well that's essentially what Lotus did with the creation of the Exige S Roadster.
The Exige, you see, was already the fixed-roof version of the Elise. So what was the point in turning it back into a roadster? That's what our friends at XCar tried to ascertain in the video below. We could tell you what conclusion they arrived at, but that would spoil all the fun. So we'll just let you enjoy the seven-minute clip and see for yourself. Just remember: it doesn't have to make sense. It just has to be a Lotus.
