1971 Lincoln Mark Iii on 2040-cars

Year:1971 Mileage:90200
Location:

Spokane, Washington, United States

Spokane, Washington, United States

I have mentioned everything to the best of my knowledge in the description of the car. It's not perfect but a super nice driver and it's clean. I have enjoyed this car but I need to thin out my collection. The Lincoln is all up to date with service. You will need to fix the gas gauge, don't know whay it doesn't work. It has a full tank of premium gas in it right now though. Surprising enough,I keep track of the mileage on the odometer. It is getting around 13 MPG in the city with the 460. I know that doesn't sound great, but I don't drive this everyday. Most 460's get 10 or less.

I have replaced the wipers, new fluids, new battery, oil change, air cleaner and cleaned everything. It comes with a box of extra parts like hard to find moldings,an original 8 track player/stereo from another Mark III,tail light lenses, chrome for the taillights and lots of other small things. The engine bay is spotless(I will add a photo of that tomorrow). It will need a glove box button which you can find here on eBay for not much money. I just have way too many projects and hate to see this car sit here. I want someone who will love it,pamper it and enjoy it. :) I always loved the '71 movie "The French Connection" and every time I drive this car I feel like I'm part of the movie. It's pretty fun.

This Lincoln will not win you an award right now at a car show but is it car show material? Absolutely. 80 mph in the car feels like you're going 30 and at 80 it's not even breathing hard. It wants to go faster but I don't want to get pulled over. ;)

I have all of the paperwork and receipts for everything. I have paperwork going back to 1986 on the car, original owner's manual, window sticker, dealer brochure, and Protecto plate. I also have a wiring and vacuum diagram for the new owner in aid of any service or repair down the line if needed.

If in Washington state, the tabs are current.

As you will see in pictures,it was photographed in different locations I thought looked neat. Yes,that is me standing next to the car in one of my favorite areas called Browne's Addition. It is a turn key car. You will be able to get in,fire it up and go cruise.

Now,I am putting my reserve low as to clear my expenses and investment. It's not going to be very high. I am going to sell the car. I just want to break even. Anything else is great and all,but I'm not worried about that. If you are looking at this auction, you know what these are worth and my starting price is a going to be a steal. As I stated,it will need some work but nothing super major. Needs nothing on the drivetrain. I made sure of that. Get in,buckle up and drive it.

Buyer will be responsible for any costs for shipping if needed. If close, you can drive this home.

Thank you for looking and feel free to ask any questions if you need to. Thanks a ton and have a great day! :)

Weekly Recap: New bosses try to jump-start Cadillac and Lincoln

Sat, 26 Jul 2014

Both of America's domestic luxury brands seem to be stuck in neutral.
It's ironic that Cadillac and Lincoln got new bosses within days of each other this month. It's also a commentary on the fact both of America's domestic luxury brands seem to be stuck in neutral.

Next Lincoln Navigator to drop V8 in favor of V6, but Ford Expedition might get both

Tue, 12 Mar 2013

A great many buyers fled from full-size body-on-frame SUVs to car-based crossovers in large measure to save fuel. But that doesn't mean there's still not a buying audience for more traditional truck-based utility vehicles, and those consumers doubtlessly wouldn't mind saving some dollars at the pump, too. According to Motor Trend, those shoppers might be in luck.
That's because the magazine has confirmed that Ford isn't walking away from the full-size SUV segment, and it's poised to do something about its offerings' economy ratings, too. According to MT, global Lincoln director Matt VanDyke has hinted that the next Navigator may drop two cylinders and go with a V6 model - the current model gets just 14 miles per gallon in the city and 20 on the highway from its 5.4-liter V8. The obvious fitment would be Ford's 3.5-liter twin-turbo EcoBoost V6, an engine that has spread like kudzu throughout the rest of the Blue Oval's large vehicle lineup.
Downsized turbocharged engines like Ford's EcoBoost franchise have come under fire as of late for not delivering their EPA fuel economy ratings, but their benefits extend beyond consumption - the 3.5L offers superior power and a better torque curve than the naturally aspirated V8. MT also suggests that Ford's 3.7-liter V6 could form the base engine for the next Navi - it has similar horsepower but a lot less torque than the current 5.4L. That may be less of a problem with the next generation tipped to go on a diet, which could level the playing field somewhat.

2013 Lincoln MKS EcoBoost

Tue, 13 Nov 2012

A Bench-Warmer In Waiting
I hail from Cleveland, and that means I'm familiar with sports franchises that are always falling short of championships. The Indians, the Browns, the Cavs - they've all come close, but being a resident of C-Town means learning to appreciate the effort more than a reward that never seems to come. So I can appreciate the situation in which Lincoln finds itself today, one where the past is full of repeated attempts to be competitive, and looming on the future's horizon is the next hope on which everything hinges.
That next hope for Lincoln is not the car you see here, but rather the smaller, all-new 2013 MKZ sedan. Like LeBron James entering Gund Arena for the first time, the MKZ will enter dealerships this fall as the brand's chosen savior, markedly more stylish, advanced and desirable than anything offered by Lincoln in recent memory. And that would make this car, the 2013 Lincoln MKS EcoBoost, one of the other 20 guys whose names I can't remember who played alongside LeBron during his rookie season.
