| | | WELL SURVIVED ORIGINAL EXAMPLE WITH JUST 70,000 ORIGINAL MILES! GREAT COLOR COMBINATION, AIR CONDITIONED, AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION, AND MORE! A GREAT DRIVER OR FUTURE CANDIDATE FOR RESTORATION! | | SPECIFICATIONS | Year | 1970 | Make | Jaguar | Model | XKE Coupe 2+2 | VIN | P1R44166BW | Mileage | 70,983 | Engine | 4.2L | Cylinders | Inline 6 | Transmission | Automatic | Title | Clear | Color | Pale Primrose Yellow | Interior Color | Black Leather | | | DESCRIPTION | The Jaguar XKE was already one of the most beautiful and striking cars ever created, but could only accommodate 2 passengers at a time, like its XK predecessor. Back at the drawing board, engineers designed a new 2+2 coupe, which quickly became a third choice for buyers on Jaguar showrooms by 1966! With a redefined roofline, 9” longer body, more upright front windshield, and the option for an automatic transmission, it made the 2+2 quite roomy, more practical, and very desirable for sports car minded buyers needing room for a family. This well survived 1970 Jaguar XKE 2+2 Series II coupe is finished in its original, factory color of Pale Primrose over all original Black Leather interior! Powered by its original 4.2L Inline 6-cylinder engine with dual Zenith carburetion and Borg Warner automatic transmission, this Jaguar has never been modified in any way! Additional options include air conditioning; chrome 72-spoke wire spoke wheels, AM/FM radio, wood steering wheel, leather-wrapped shift knob, front and rear seatbelts, headrests, rubber floor mats, front bumper guards and license plate bracket! The Series II Jaguar offers many changes to the overall appeal and drivability of these fantastic road-going automobiles. This includes a larger front grill opening feeding air to the radiator also aided by two additional electric cooling fans, larger turn signal indicators up front, and rear brake light now mounted under the full length bumper, open front headlights, and better braking system! Under the hood, valve covers were now ribbed aluminum to help dissipate heat. In the interior cabin, the dash layout changed and new rocker switches installed, as were more comfortable seats for longer drives. The Jaguar featured here was built in May 1970 and has never really been restored from new, bearing only one older respray of the exterior that has started to show its age again. It retains the original leather interior, and original number’s matching drive train, it represents a truly unique opportunity to purchase a survivor quality example with just 70,983 original miles! Complete with matching spare tire, tool kit, and original tinted Triplex glass, it should make for a terrific driver investment or future restoration candidate. It still starts, runs, and drives quite faithfully today! The air conditioning is left with a disengaged compressor, and remains configured for R12 freon, so it is not currently operable. The bodylines and gaps are tight atop a strong chassis and frame. It has been very well cared for and properly maintained without modification! Some receipts dating back to 1991, Operating Handbook, Jaguar repair & tuning book by Chilton, and a Jaguar workshop manual are included. The body tags and frame VIN stamp remain original and untouched. Our cars are offered on multiple forums and will be sold as-is with a clear title to the first astute buyer! Please do not hesitate to call with further questions or requests. Thanks for looking!

Jaguar In Its Purest Form Jaguar has spent a lot of time, money and engineering effort refocusing itself for the modern world. In 2006, the current XK replaced the former XK8 and introduced a new aluminum-intensive chassis architecture to Jaguar's portfolio, and two years later, the XF whipped up a similar overhaul to its classical styling department. The next major revision came in 2009, with the introduction of the achingly attractive and completely new XJ sedan, and this step struck us as the biggest improvement yet; not only was Jaguar's flagship built atop a cutting-edge platform, it boasted a newfound sense of style that pointed toward the future while still echoing the brand's storied past. This trend has continued most recently with the two-door F-Type that we've already grown quite fond of.

Land Rover makes some of the most capable SUVs on or off the road, and some of the most luxurious too. But the British automaker isn't about to rest on those laurels - not when every other automaker assaults its territory with sport-utes of their own. That's why Land Rover has been working so hard on nifty new technologies from a depth-sounder in the door mirror of the Range Rover Sport an augmented-reality head-up display that makes the whole front of the car virtually disappear. JLR's newest tech may not be ground-breaking, but its integration promises to make driving around town that much easier. The system syncs with the driver's smartphone and uses all manner of parameters - including driver habits, weather and location as well as the presence of other passengers - to make the commute go as smoothly as possible. Get into the car and it'll set the seat and mirrors for you. No big deal, because lots of cars do that. But it'll also set up the nav system to take you to work and the sound system to play your favorite music. Okay, getting more interesting. Get in with your kids and it'll know not only that you've got to drop them off at school first (or remind you to pack their gym bag if they've got soccer practice after school that day) but that they might not enjoy that Chumbawamba album you've been listening to since college and it'll play something it knows you'll all enjoy based on your listening history. Then it'll switch back to Tubthumping once the kids are out, remind you of your morning meeting and alert those you're scheduled to meet with if you get stuck in traffic while finding you a better route to get there, monitoring fuel levels all the while and telling you if you'll need to tank up before you reach your destination. It knows if you like calling your mother on the drive to work and will lower the air suspension to make it easier to hop out once you get there.

Some concept cars make the rounds of the auto shows and are then retired. But a number of automakers are showing that a fresh coat of paint can go a long way towards rejuvenating a show car and giving it a new lease on life - at least as far as the auto show circuit is concerned. Lexus did that recently with the LF-LC concept, initially unveiling it in red at the 2012 Detroit Auto Show, then repainting it a dark shade of blue for the subsequent shows in Australia and LA. Mini did the same with the Rocketman concept. And now Jaguar has done it again with its C-X17. Initially unveiled in electric blue at the Frankfurt Motor Show, Jaguar then rolled the crossover out again in liquid silver for the Dubai Motor Show earlier this month. Now the concept is back again at the Guangzhou Motor Show in China with a fresh coat of rose gold. Looking decidedly more luxurious than the previous iterations, this gilded C-X17 concept also bears another change: while the previous versions featured a four-seat cabin, this one has been redone with a more conventional five-seat configuration that more buyers would likely go for. It's also got a new interactive infotainment system and another system that warns passengers of pedestrians or cyclists approaching from the rear before they open the door. Check it out in the high-res image gallery above and the video clip below for a closer look.
