I purchased this cars years ago from my brother. He in turn had purchased it from an elderly man that had kept the
car garaged in San Diego. There is no significant rust on the car. The paint was stripped early in the life of the
car. The body was lead filled and repainted the original factory color. There is one small thumb side indention in
the side of the right front fender. You cannot pick it up in the pictures. The original engine was rebuilt about 8
years ago by Walt's Jaguars in Idaho. It was built back to stock specs with the addition of some nice Iskaderian
cams. The car idles nicely and you do notice the cams in the higher rpm ranges. A standard upgrade to the car is
the addition of the T5 5 speed manual transmission. You run about 2700 rpm at 70 to 75 mph in fifth gear. Very
relaxed. There is about 3500 miles on this set up. I upgraded the clutch to a center force unit and it has a good
feel. I have a stack of receipts that go with the car. Maintenance has been kept up on the car. The work has ben
professionally done by Auto House of Clovis. They maintain my other British Cars and they do quality work. The
pictures should speak for them selves. There are small items to attend to as is there is with any older British
car. The choke knob needs to be reattached and the oil pressure gauges needs to be upgraded to a mechanical unit. I
have had mechanical oil pressure gauges fitted and the pressure is good. I drive the car once a month on a 150 mile
round trip to visit my mother in Merced, Ca. The pictures were taken after my return last Sunday.Car runs great and
has never overheated on me. The aluminum radiator was fitted when the engine was rebuilt. The fans were rebuilt at
the same time. The interior is original and is worn in spots. There are no rips or tears. It is just a well
maintained old car. I hate to see it sit. Somebody else should be enjoying it. I have too many other cars and I
just do not drive this one enough.

Jaguar Project 7 Concept

Mon, 26 Aug 2013

The Jaguar Project 7 Concept debuted at the Goodwood Festival of Speed just last month. But unlike most concepts, which serve only to collect fingerprints on a stage, the track-ready one-seater spent its days barreling past the hillclimb crowds with Mike Cross, chief engineer of vehicle integrity at Jaguar, beaming behind its right-hand-drive steering wheel. What's more, the powers that be at Jaguar even let yours truly drive the Project 7 during the Concurs d'Elegance festivities at Pebble Beach last week.
Built on an all-aluminum V8 F-Type chassis with modified suspension, the Project 7 (a name acknowledging Jaguar's seven Le Mans wins between 1951-1990) is best thought of as an F-Type masquerading as a D-Type. The two-door is fitted with a supercharged 5.0-liter V8 good for 550 horsepower (no pictures as Jaguar wouldn't allow us to open the hood). An eight-speed automatic, with a torque converter, sends the power the rear wheels, allowing the single-seat roadster to crack the 60-mph benchmark in just over four seconds.
Modifications to the bodywork include a new lowered windshield, carbon-fiber aerodynamics and a rear fairing with integrated rollover hoop. The driving position has also been lowered by more than an inch, allowing the sole occupant to not only escape the airflow, but take advantage of a lower center of gravity.

Jaguar XK to cease production this summer

Mon, 10 Mar 2014

With the introduction of the F-Type coupe and convertible, Jaguar has cleared room in its sports car lineup to drop the XK for new models. "There will be a 2015 model year XK, but the rumors are true, production for the XK will end later this year after eight years," said Wayne York Kung, Jaguar USA National Product Communications Manager, in an email to Autoblog. A replacement for the GT might be a very long way off.
The automaker told Auto Express that it's part of a "wider strategic vision and product planning cycle." Ending assembly will allow the feline luxury brand to build better-selling vehicles like the XE, its upcoming BMW 3 Series fighter. The new sedan is scheduled to go on sale in Europe in 2015 and in the US in 2016. It also needs to make room for the C-X17 crossover to be built, which is likely expected to sell better than a 2+2 GT car.
"There are no immediate plans to replace the XK," said Kung in his email. Jag was rumored to be considering moving a future generation of it upmarket. The new model would have been a bigger, softer grand tourer and allow the F-Type to be the brand's more hardcore sports car.

Jos? Mourinho shares his fear in Jaguar F-Type R Coupe spot

Fri, 09 May 2014

Jaguar is in the middle of an image makeover. It wants people to know that it makes more than just big, comfy luxury cars. Underneath that there is an edge. In its recent ads, the company wants to be associated with a more tailored, witty form of villainy. The next step is showing that it's also fearless.
Many Americans might not be familiar with José Mourinho, but he's one of the premier soccer, or football, coaches in the world. He's nicknamed "The Special One." Mourinho worked his way up from an assistant coach to lead small teams but eventually took over international heavyweights like Real Madrid and Chelsea.
In a new ad for the Jaguar F-Type R Coupe, Mourinho talks about what it means to be afraid. You might think such successful people overcome their fears, but successful men are driven it, he claims. But being scared doesn't make a man weak - it makes him dangerous. Scroll down to understand what Mourinho is talking about and get an earful from the wonderful exhaust of the R Coupe.
