1966 Ford Ltd Galaxie on 2040-cars
Windsor, Colorado, United States
This LTD is a true gem a
real survivor for sure. I found it at an estate sale locally, and bought
it on the spot. I purchased it from the original owner an old gentleman
who was downsizing his estate in general, the car has
49,000 documented original miles on it. You see cars advertised with low miles, the miles on this car are actual not turned over. He saved all the service records
from 66 , it was purchased from a local
dealer here in CO and lived its entire life in the garage I have the
thank you letter from the dealership and the hard plastic dealer service
card still in its case. This car has the 390 power plant and runs
perfect, turn key and purs, also stops and shifts smoothly, the car has all the options of the day ,rear
heat and air as well. Its the original Wimbledon white with a burgundy
interior, there is a slightly worn area on the drivers side rear seat other than that the interior is beautiful along with the factory floor mats that kept the carpet so nice, headliner and rear package area are just beautiful, all the bells and whistles work, engine cold warning light and flashing red parking brake reminder. Has the original spare and jack, I just put new tires on it
,replaced the battery and starter along with a complete tuneup with all
the fluids changed, also a new heater core. The wheels still had the paper stickers on the backs
with the ford part numbers, it rides like a magic carpet smooth and
quiet ,typical of the higher end 60s luxury cars, but still retains a
sportier look. The chrome and stainless trim are impeccable, right down to the chrome gas door trim, the grill
is highly sought after and is immaculate. Everything is still factory
original and everything works, horn, heater, AC,cigarette lighter. There is a slight crease in the passenger
side door and a few scratches on that side also a piece of wheelhouse
trim is missing same side . Previous owner had
trouble parking it towards the last of his driving days. All the glass
and rubber seals are perfect and the doors hood and trunk shut with
that firm solid feel, windows roll up and down perfectly. The car is certainly not 100% show car however it is in fantastic original condition for a 47 year old vehicle, feels like it was driven off the lot.
Overall its a beautiful example of 60s classic Ford, solid powerful and comfortable, this is a turn key start up and go car ,drives anywhere with absolutely no issues other than the constant thumbs up from others. I have to ask that if you make an offer or intend on purchasing the car please follow through and be sincere , alot goes into an auction so lets not waste each others time. I will require a $1000.00 non refundable pay pal deposit at the close of the auction and the remainder within 5 days before the car is released .Please ask any and all questions BEFORE making an offer, after the fact is not the time, I will be happy to answer all, Thanks . |

TX officer allegedly lets 140-mph street racer go with a warning [w/poll]
Tue, 26 Aug 2014Being pulled over by the police is one of the most nerve-racking situations that a driver can go through, and it's even worse when you know that the officer has you dead to rights for speeding well over the posted limit. In this video, the driver of a heavily modified Ford Mustang with a claimed 966 horsepower at the rear wheels could have easily lost his ride for doing triple-digit speeds and street racing, but a friendly Texas police officer appears to send him on his way with a simple warning.
What's more, the driver in question wasn't just speeding - his Mustang was the camera car for a bunch of rolling street races in the wee hours of the morning on a Texas highway. The driver was more than willing to mix it up in the action, too. Eventually the cops catch on and pick the 'Stang to pull over, but not before the Ford owner runs a claimed 140 mph. With only audio to go on after the car is pulled over, the police officer seems incredibly nonchalant about catching someone who was so brazenly breaking the law. Incredibly, the patrolman actually tells the driver that he's seen everyone racing tonight but ignored them. With traffic picking up, the cop says that it's time to "cut it out" and go home for the night. As far as this video shows, that was the end of it.
Warning: There is explicit, not-safe-for-work language in the video below.
Entry-level F-150 now offers SuperCrew, Sport Package
Thu, 29 Aug 2013Ford has made a few notable tweaks to the lower end of its F-150 lineup, giving customers a more affordable version of the four-door SuperCrew body style. The popular SuperCrew could previously only be had on XLT models and above, but Ford has announced that 2014 F-150s with the base STX trim can get the more versatile body.
The STX SuperCrew brings the price of a four-door F-150 down from $34,525 to $33,145. Like the XLT SuperCrew, the STX will be available with the choice of a 5.5- or 6.5-foot bed, while a 5.0-liter V8 can replace the base 3.7-liter V6 for $4,425. Ford has not released pricing on the different bed lengths yet, but opting for the 6.5-foot bed on the XLT raises the price $1,240 and forces buyers into the 5.0-liter V8. We'd expect a similar arrangement on the STX.
The other big news for fans of affordable pickups is the addition of an STX Sport Package on the base-level truck. It adds 20-inch wheels, black exterior accents, black-and-gray cloth seats and decals on the truck's box. The Sport Package is available on all three of the STX's body styles, with Ford listing the price as $980 with current discounts.
Truckmakers squabbling over who can sell Jimmy Fallon a pickup
Sat, 08 Mar 2014Snagging a celebrity endorsement is a big deal for automakers, as evidenced by the recent efforts of the Detroit Three to try and woo The Tonight Show's newest host, Jimmy Fallon, into one of their trucks.
After announcing during Wednesday night's show that he was in the market for a pickup truck, Fallon set off a firestorm of efforts on Twitter, with both Ford and Chevrolet petitioning the funnyman to test out a truck. According to Ad Age, Ford recommended the King Ranch edition of its next-generation F-150 while the show was still airing. Chevy, meanwhile, waited until the next morning to pitch a Silverado to Fallon.
The winner of this social media feeding frenzy, though, was Ram. Promoting a variation of its "Guts, Glory, Ram" tagline, the Auburn Hills-based manufacturer created the hashtag #GUTSGLORYFallon. It even went so far as to park a Ram 1500 outside 30 Rockefeller Center in New York, where The Tonight Show is filmed. On the back of the Ram sat a sign, reading "Big enough, Jimmy? Test it out," referencing a joke from the Wednesday show.
