For sale is a 1972 Galaxie 500 2 door. This is a southern barn find. It has a 400 cid engine and a c6 trans. This car was tuned up, with all new parts, to ensure and contributed to its dependability. This car is turn key and my wife drove it as her daily transportation and with our family. It is so comfortable and rides like a cloud. It has a brand new interior, carpet, and headliner, The seats and rear dash pad has been professionally reupholstered, using the original hardware . The dash is original and crack free. It is the original powder blue with a white hard top. The paint is in exceptional condition for the year of this car. There is one area about the size of half dollar, maybe smaller that has rust on the back rear quarter right side . We are selling this beautiful car which was my wife's 40th Birthday gift. She was in a car accident and we have bills to pay. We are really in need to sell this beauty, and willing to bargain. However, please, we have had many offensive offers and are not in a place where we need to sell our car for next to nothing. Furthermore, we are willing to negotiate with a serious purchaser. The photos do not do this car justice and when the weather permits we can take this car out of storage. We will take new photos to show what a eye looker it really is. 40+ cars that barely avoid the gas guzzler tax

The Gas Guzzler schedule, with mpg ratings and charges that haven't changed since 1991, lays out which fuel-swillers owe what to Uncle Sam.
I started thinking about the "Gas Guzzler Tax" - considerably less well known as The Energy Tax Act of 1978 - when I was driving Dodge's new Challenger SRT Hellcat last week. Unsurprisingly for a car that can burn 1.5 gallons of gas per minute at max tilt, theoretically able to empty a full tank of premium in about 13 minutes, the Hellcat will be subject to the Gas Guzzler Tax schedule when it goes on sale.
NHTSA probing 2000-2003 Ford Taurus and Mercury Sable models over throttle issue
Mon, 29 Oct 2012A potential issue with the speed control cable collar has got the 2003-20003 Ford Taurus and Mercury Sable under the spotlight of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. If the collar breaks it can cause the throttle to be stuck open.
The issue is limited to vehicles with the 3.0-liter V6 Duratec. There are just 50 complaints so far out of 310,000 cars, but the NHTSA has begun an investigation into whether a recall should be issued.
USPS releases hot rod stamps to speed up your delivery
Sun, 08 Jun 2014After one of the worst winters in recent memory for much of the country, summer is finally here. It's time to drop the top, open the sunroof or at least put down the windows and take a long drive. The United States Postal Service is celebrating the season's sun in automotive style with two new hot rod Forever stamps.
Both stamps depict classic '32 Ford hot rods. One shows the car from the front at a low angle in red (pictured above), while the other depicts the car from the back in black with flames running down the side.
To introduce the new stamps on their first day of availability, the USPS went straight to the source at the National Street Rod Association Street Rod Nationals in York, PA. They were unveiled by Postmaster General Patrick Donahoe, Car Crazy host Barry Meguiar and NSRA Special Events Director Jerry Kennedy.
