2006 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor P71 on 2040-cars
Patterson, New York, United States
Up for sale is my 2006 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor "P71", with 133K, and just over 1900 engine idle hrs. Iam the second registered owner of this unit. Originally from the Connecticut State Highway Patrol, was an assigned unit until its retirement in 8/2012 with 88k, I purchased this unit 12/2012, again these are take home units as all of Ct's state units are till this day, which meant that they were under a strict P/M schedule. Unit has an OE fleet only Silver Grey Metallic Color with the Charcoal/Black cloth interior in both front bucket seats and rear seat as well, has a very nice center black console. Very clean interior and carpeting, no heavy usage or smells, no missing interior parts, excellent condition both in and out, very much an eye catcher on the open road! Mechanically its just a blast!! Very aggressive and strong running 4.6L Modular engine coupled to a heavy duty 4R75W 4-spd AODwith some really fast and strong shifts, has the 3.27:1 rear diff. Many new and upgraded parts MotorCraft 5W20 Syn. and Oil filter MotorCraft Ext. engine coolant lines 4/2014 MotorCraft Silicone hoses 4/2014 MotorCraft Thermostat 4/2014 MotorCraft Belts 4/2014 MotorCraft Tensioner Bearings 4/2014 MotorCraft Sparkplugs 6/2014 Accel Coil On Packs (8) 6/2014 MotorCraft Yellow Coolant 4/2014 Ford Recalled Lower Sreering Column Replaced 3/2014 Severe Duty Front and Rear Pads and Rotors Replaced 5/2014 Severe Duty Rear Shocks Replaced 5/2014 Brand New Tires installed and aligned this past winter 1/2014 All Major Fluids Swapped out within last 40k Recapping well in all honesty I have to say, like alot of people tell me to this day, that this is one very clean, sharp handling Police Interceptor. Even the local Sheriffs and State Police have a hard time telling the differance, theyll always give me a head nod or a hands up.. This unit is being sold as is with no warrenty whatsoever, if you have less than a 10 rating please contact me before bidding! I am selling this unit locally too, so I have the right to end auction earlier if need be. Reborn Ford Escort could make its way to Europe
Fri, 26 Apr 2013The Ford Escort concept just unveiled at the Shanghai Motor Show was created with the Chinese market in mind, but it's got people talking all over the world. Not purely fancy, the point of the Escort concept was to give Chinese buyers a preview of what they could expect to see in a Ford showroom in the near future. If Ford wasn't seriously considering the new Escort for other countries, a report in Auto Express indicates that the concept's reception has changed all that.
No less than the incoming chairman of Ford UK said "it could work in other places," bolstering the comments of "a senior Ford insider" who said the question of bringing the car to Europe to slot in underneath the Focus had been raised. That's a long way from anything of the kind happening, which would require Ford to figure out how to sell it for the right price and not torpedo the company reputation among Euro buyers. In any case, we'd be as intrigued as anyone if an Escort resurrection created the next 'who knew?' market segment of few-frills transportation offered by non-Asian carmakers.
Ford Fiesta rally car warms up in Sweden
Tue, 18 Mar 2014Rallycross is seeing a sudden surge in popularity with two series bringing the racing to the US and Europe. The Ford OMSE team is competing in both championships this season, and it saw no reason not to hold practice with a highly modified Fiesta in the snow of Northern Sweden. It brought together Andreas Bakkerud from the European-focused FIA World Rallycross Championship and Patrik Sandell from the North American-focused Global Rallycross series for some training and fun. They certainly appear to be enjoying themselves, too, with some lovely pirouettes in the powder.
If you're unfamiliar with rallycross, the discipline combines the best of rallying and circuit racing. Drivers (with no co-drivers) race rally cars over a circuit that generally mixes dirt and asphalt, and unlike traditional rallying, multiple cars compete side-by-side at once. Even better, it's often a very two-fisted form of motorsports with lots of car-to-car contact. Global Rallycross and World Rallycross will both kick off their seasons in May. With spring on the way, scroll down to watch the Fiesta kick up some of the last snow drifts of the year.
Former Ford CEO Alan Mulally lands on Google board
Wed, 16 Jul 2014Former Ford CEO Alan Mulally often referred to the Blue Oval as a technology company when he led the automaker. Now he'll be offering guidance to a different kind of technology firm: Google.
Mulally was appointed to Google's board of directors July 9, and late Tuesday, it was announced that he will serve on the company's audit committee. The veteran executive led Ford from September 2006 until he retired in June, succeeded by Mark Fields.
While Mulally will act as a board member - rather than in a managerial role - his presence adds credibility to Google's recently announced plans to produce an autonomous car. The ambitious program calls for 100 prototypes to begin testing later this summer. Production of the car is rumored to be in collaboration with a Detroit area performance company, Roush.
