This auction is for a 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Coupe (not a true Z/28, just emblems). Prior owner had the car for the past 10 years. In that time frame this is some of the work that has been done to it. Has a 350 V-8 that has been completely rebuilt (11,000 miles since rebuild). Bored .40 over, roller rockers, close to $3,000 spent on motor alone. MSD ignition. M21 Muncie 4 Speed Transmission. 12 bolt posi traction 3:55 gear ratio. Custom Flow Master exhaust with Head Man headers. Power front disc brakes. Manual steering. Runs and drives great. Body in very decent shape. Has had 2 full rear quarters and according to prior owner the rest of the sheet metal is original to the car. Good solid floors, frame and under body. I did notice a couple of bubbles on the passenger door and 1 on the drivers side roof panel by the drip rail and 1 on the lower passenger fender. Bright emerald green paint. Driver quality condition. Nice set of wheels and tires. Interior is in decent shape. A console was added but guages are not hooked up at the moment. Has a fairly expensive Sony CD player with remote control, Ipod etc. Electric fuel pump and filter system is installed in the trunk. Everything on the car works except the guages. We have a folder full of reciepts for work done and a CD disk to document the restoration of the car. This is not a show car just a good driver quality car. This is a turn key drive it home Camaro. We have a current Maine registration and proper transfer forms should you need a title in your state. If you need more pics or info feel free to call or email us at 207-324-5568 days or 207-432-2862 eves and sundays

Chevy gets cracking on Cruze EV fleet testing

Chevrolet Cruze EV - Click above for high-res image gallery
The Chevrolet Volt hasn't yet gone on sale, but General Motors is looking at ways of expanding its electric vehicle lineup. Chevy, along with partner LG, is employing a group of all-electric cars in the form of the Cruze. The sedans are part of a demonstration fleet which is located in Seoul, South Korea and is being used to provide data in an electric vehicle research project. The goal is to gather information on driving patterns and charging behavior in addition to consumer acceptance.
The Cruze EVs, along with some Daewoo Lacetti Premieres EVs, are the first fleet of full-size electric vehicles and should provide invaluable information for The General. Staying full-size means not sacrificing cargo space, so the battery pack is mounted to the underbody, leaving the trunk area open for plenty recyclable, canvas grocery bags.

Race Recap: 2013 Indianapolis 500 better than Bollywood; all the emotion, none of the music [spoilers]

Mon, 27 May 2013

If the 2013 Indy 500 were a movie it would be the one expected to win all the little statues come awards season, and if it were an athlete it would have made spectators watch in awe as it broke record after record. And this kind of talk comes after last year's race was considered one of the best ever - the last lap hijinks in 2012 and Takuma Sato's crash leading to a podium ceremony straight out of a Golden Globes tearjerker.
But this year's race delivered more than anyone expected, from the 250,000 fans to the commentators to the IndyCar series itself and, finally, to the guy who hopped through a two-mile window on Lap 197 to take the lead and keep it until the end.

Tarantino's stolen Chevy Malibu from Pulp Fiction recovered after 19 years [w/video]

Mon, 29 Apr 2013

Quentin Tarantino fans will likely remember Vincent Vega's cherry 1964 Chevrolet Malibu Convertible in Pulp Fiction. In a movie drenched in automotive references, the Malibu is very nearly a character in and of itself, and it serves as the subject of Vega's soliloquy about the kind of man who vandalizes another's automobile. It also happened to be Tarantino's personal car when the film was shot, and was apparently stolen shortly after production wrapped. Now police have located the car some 19 years later.
As it turns out, the thieves cloned the vehicle identification number from another '64 Malibu and had the car registered under the new digits. It was then sold to an unsuspecting buyer. Police happened upon the duplicate VINs while investigating another potential theft. Right now, it's unclear whether Tarantino has taken possession of the Chevrolet, if it has remained in the possession of the fraud victim, or whether it's caught somewhere in the gears of justice. Either way, you can catch Vega's memorable thoughts on the car keying in the Pulp Fiction clip below. But consider yourself warned: the video contains explicit language as Not Safe For Work as it comes.
