Let me start by saying anyone who knows me would say i am a very fussy person.I don`t just want it fixed I want it fixed rite.So when my heater core went out on my 3500 dodge truck there was no question I was driving 10.5 hrs. to ME. so Tom at west st. auto could fix my problem and fix it rite this time, as we both learned later apparently the people I bought the truck from took it to the dealer, where they fix it, b... view moreut forgot to put all the proper parts back in, so needless to say it failed again.Tom and Dustin are two of the best mechanics I know. they fixed it up better then new for a very reasonable rate.They even went above and beyond when they serviced the truck for my trip back to Pa. I Don`t normally write reviews but felt compelled to after using the services of West Street Auto. I was recently in town from Boston visiting my parents over the holiday and my 1985 VW Vanagon (Not an easy car to work on!) developed a gas line leak. Quite a serious and pressing issue. My fianc?© and I moved to the area recently and were nervous about finding a good mechanic for our cars. Well, let`s just say we hit the mechanic jackpot with Tom!! He is very knowledgable and will give you the honest facts about what is wrong with your car. Tom is by far the best mechanic I have encountered anywhere. Superb diagnostic skills, incredible knowledge, and excellent service - all for a tremendously reasonable rate. No matter the make model or age of your vehicle I would definitely recommend West Street Auto. Tom has solved many issues for me with ease that others were never able to diagnose.

Best mechanic I`ve ever had. Tom (the owner) is highly knowledgable and responsive-- I`ve had several automotive emergencies over the past couple of years and Tom always helps us get back on the road right away. Tom is awesome. He is the kind of mechanic that so many dream of but never find. He treats his customers like family. He is willing to correct other so called "mechanics" mistakes and set things right. My car was dead in my drivewa...

My car was dead in my driveway and the dealership was in Portland. I thought I would have to have my car towed the 100 miles, before I heard about Tom. THE BEST MECHANIC THIS SIDE OF PORTLAND :) Toms always there to help and my husband likes that he actually takes his time to figure out the problem instead of just "throwing parts" at it! This is a terrific find! We b...

This is a terrific find! We brought our Mazda Miata there ... to have a new soft top installed (not an easy task!). Tom was the only one we could find who would "willingly" agree to do this. He did an impeccable job and also did the state inspection and checked the car over. He is an outstanding mechanic, very reasonable on price, and very committed to doing the best job he can possibly do.
