1962 Chevy Corvair Spyder Coupe on 2040-cars
Ashland, Kentucky, United States
1962 Chevrolet Corvair Spyder 2 door from the Bruce Hewitt collection in Linconton NC. This car has been in his barn for 20 years along with many other Corvairs needing attention. This is the first one he is willing to let go to someone that will love it and bring it back. Original paint and interior on this weathered first year Spyder. Interior is not torn but is very stiff, not soft. Floor has fiberglass Clarks Corvair pans installed with screws. Carpet was bad so it have been taken out. Turbo parts are in back seat but car has a 1962 102 HP A/C code engine in it that will start. Car needs a complete restoration. Brakes do not work. We got it started off a gas can sitting in engine bay. Bumper guards have been removed and correct 62 wire wheel covers with good P18580R13 radial tires have been installed. There is no title, Ebay does not give you that option in the listing so I chose salvage reconstructed. some images are when we pulled it out of Bruce's barn and some are in my garage. There is rust through on the air grille area below the rear bumper, but we have a used replacement piece that goes with car, actually the last foot of a early model car. I am listing vehicle for him but the car is in Ashland, Ky. Call Steve at 606-465-2124 and I can tell you all that I know.

Chevy Camaro is a good sport, wishes Ford Mustang Happy 50th
Tue, 15 Apr 2014It was 1966 when Chevrolet launched its challenger to the wildly successful Ford Mustang, the Camaro. While the competition between the two brands was already healthy, the arrival of the Camaro set off one of the most intense, model-to-model rivalries in the industry.
That competitive spirit hasn't stopped Chevy and the Camaro from wishing Ford's iconic muscle car a Happy 50th Birthday as the Ford's April 17 anniversary rolls around. These two cars have been linked over the years, and while the rivalry took a break for a few years in the 2000s, today's competition between the Camaro and Mustang is as fierce as it's ever been.
You might recall that this friendliness when it comes to major milestones isn't too rare. Ford put on quite a display for General Motors' hundredth anniversary back in 2008. As the Camaro's fiftieth birthday approaches in 2016, we wouldn't be surprised to see the Mustang sending its best wishes to its Bowtie rival.
Watch this creative way to pull a truck's engine
Fri, 08 Mar 2013Living in an apartment complex has its benefits, but for shade-tree mechanics who like/need to work on their own cars, it definitely has a number of disadvantages. Relatively simple tasks such as brake jobs and oil changes are difficult when you don't have dedicated driveway space, to say nothing of more in-depth repairs... like pulling an engine, for example.
For these types of challenges, a little ingenuity and plenty of muscle are needed to get the job done. Scroll down to watch these four men snatch the V8 out of a Chevrolet K1500 using nothing but a chain, landscape timber and good ol' fashioned brute strength. Good work, gentlemen.
Chevrolet Malibu gets across-the-board price cuts, hopes to dig out of slump
Mon, 11 Feb 2013To say that things aren't going well for the newly redesigned 2013 Chevrolet Malibu is a pretty sizable understatement. Reports have been swirling about the Malibu getting an emergency design refresh, less than a year after its introduction, as well as having its production at the Fairfax Assembly Plant halted twice already this year for excessive inventory. Now, Motor Trend is reporting that the midsize sedan will be receiving price drops across the board ranging from $300 on a number of models up to $770 on the 1LT trim; offsetting some of MSRP drop, though, the destination charge has increased from $760 to $810.
Without destination, the entry-level Malibu LS now starts at $21,995, which is still about $300 more than a Honda Accord and about $300 less than the segment's top-selling Toyota Camry. This new pricing also drops the price of the Eco, 2LT and 3LT trims by $300. The LTZ trim has dropped by $415, meaning that the Malibu's top dog now starts at just under $30,000, excluding destination.
Here are the new starting prices for all eight of the Malibu trim levels compared to the previous prices for the 2013 model year (including destination):
