1963 Chevrolet C-10 on 2040-cars
Maricopa, Arizona, United States
this 1963 Chevy c10 has been built with nothing but the best in mind. Tuned LS3 GM engine cracking out over 450HP connected to Tremec 6 speed, balanced aluminum drive line and 12 bolt Eaton posi. has all the bells off a modern vehicle I.E. power rack and pinion steering, 4 wheel disc brakes, power seats power windows, power one piece windows you wont see this on any others! as the window has to turn side ways to go down. (engineering night mare) very cool!! Iced cold A/C. frame is heavily modified boxed notched and fitted to the LS drive train. Frame has been built for show and with its base clear paint looks as good from the under side as the top side. The bed has lots of modifications as well. Bed sides are now welded as one unit eliminating seems and have been fitted with inner sides from another c10 for double wall bed. bed wood is finished to a furniture like looks and its perimeter lined with LED lights. the tail gate is also double wall and opened by liner actuators by the push of a button. tail gate also now supported with a cable eliminating ugly steal arms. doors have been shaved and fitted with Corvette door touch pads they open with the touch of a button! rain gutter has been removed from Cab for much cleaner look. Under the hood WoW! clean and very well fitted. Engine is tucked in very tight and low to give it a like stock modern appearance. Nice Big rig truck horn to clear traffic powered by the air ride system. Trucks suspension is supported by air bags powered by a compressor and custom air tank. air suspension can be switched to co2 with the touch of a button so you dont have to listen to the compressors running at the shows. The interior has been made up to flow with the GMs LS3 SS drive train, using seats console, vents and other pairs removed from Camaro SS. modified dash and custom door panels flow together nicely. gauges are nothing but the best Auto meter with Chevy monograms. custom sound system with rare blue tooth connection for booth droid or iphone users, two 8" kicker square subs fit nicely behind the seats delivering ground shaking base. doors are fitted with Rockford Fosgate speakers in custom in closers. Truck turns all heads its way with its low tuned flow master exhaust and keeps them looking with envy. A hard press on the peddle puts you head back, you will shift out of second at about 85 MPH and a quarter mile time mid 12 seconds.

GM dealers unhappy about pickup prices
Mon, 21 Oct 2013The backlash is beginning. Following General Motors' price hike of the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra last week, dealers across the country are expressing their ire over increasing prices in the face of rebates and discounts on trucks from Ford and Ram.
Speaking to Automotive News, Sam Pilato, the general manager at Dimmitt Chevrolet in Clearwater, FL, Silverados are "selling very poorly." W. Carrol Smith, the president of Monument Chevrolet in the heart of truck country, Texas, said, "[GM's] position is that the vehicle stands on its own and it doesn't need a bigger rebate. That's not what the market is telling us."
According to AN, that's the general attitude amongst Chevy and GMC dealers across the country, where the twin pickups are getting butchered in sales by competitors offering up to $9,000 off their sticker prices. Part of the problem for GM is that its trucks are arriving on the market near the end of the current F-150's lifecycle, a fact that Ford has taken advantage of.
2014 Chevrolet Corvette C7 Convertible offers a few more views before reveal
Mon, 04 Mar 2013Over the weekend, Chevrolet released its first images of the new 2014 Corvette Stingray Convertible. Now, ahead of the droptop's official introduction tomorrow at the Geneva Motor Show, the automaker has given us a few more shots of the softop C7 showing off the car's rump albeit from a high, strategically positioned angle.
From this angle, it's hard to get a sense for how long and flat the decklid really is, but we can easily see that, like the rest of the C7's design, the new convertible's decklid and tonneau cover are far more detailed than the current car. We also get a better look at the rear haunches sans brake vents, which have apparently been moved to underneath the car in order to accommodate the top's hard cover.
As for the overall styling of the C7 convertible, with the top erected, we get some idea of what a coupe design (as opposed to the Stingray's fastback shape) would look like on this car. The C5 Corvette most recently had a coupe model that did away with the large glass hatchback, and we recently reported on a low-cost "coupe" model potentially being added to the C7's repertoire.
Chevrolet Camaros at SEMA are a mobile accessory catalog
Wed, 06 Nov 2013Chevy's goal at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas this week seems to be to show as much of its Performance and Accessories catalog as possible. That's why it brought three different Camaros - two with V8s and one powered by a V6 - with all of the best goodies from the catalog already fitted.
We gave a more in-depth recap of the Performance Camaro V8 Concept, the Performance Camaro V6 Concept and the Performance Garage Concept already, but we figured you'd like a short recap for each. It should be noted, though, that you can order all of the items you see here for your own Camaro, so be sure to take a long, hard look at our live galleries, just in case you're in the market for some mods.
Essentially, the Performance Garage Concept and the Performance V8 Concept are the same car - the only difference is that the later features a whole host of aesthetic tweaks in addition to its aftermarket, shorty exhaust headers and 2.75-inch exhaust. (The Performance Garage Concept has been usefully placed on its side; the better to see the new parts added to the vehicle.) The Performance V6 Concept is notable because, despite being a V6, there's no shortage of performance goodies fitted. All three of the Performance Camaros benefit from items from the Camaro ZL1, which can also be ordered through the catalog.
