1993 Volvo 940 89K MI

This is a classic rare Volvo with low mileage in excellent condition.

80,000 mile service was completed. The vehicle had 4 new tires and new rear brake pads. It also had new strut rod bushings, new front sway bar bushings, new spark plug wires, new spark plugs and new drive belts. Replaced exhaust components.  Tire tread and brake pad conditions are very good. Fresh oil change. This car is ready to go!

Mechanically very strong. The vehicle is very quiet and comfortable. The B230F engine runs smoothly both on the freeway, and at lower speeds around town, with very little vibration at idle. Steering is straight. The car does not leak any fluids such as oil or anti-freeze. It passed emissions tests easily.

This car is extremely clean.  Interior is in close to showroom condition-black leather seats have no rips or tears. Dash, panels and carpets are great. There are no odors in the vehicle, such as smoke or from pets. Air conditioning blows cold, the heater works very well and the all the programmable power seat controls function with three memory settings. Sunroof works perfectly and does not leak. Stereo and 12 volt adapter plug work great. Fold out booster seat looks new. The trunk has an amazingly large capacity and carpeting is in good shape.

Cruise control and heated seats are not functioning.

Exterior: is overall in quite good condition for a car of this age, without dents. The paint is good. On the driver side, lower rear door panel has been repainted. Original manual included.

The car is listed for sale locally as well. 404 457 3254

Volvo Concept Estate to spawn V90 luxury wagon, joining CUV and coupe

Wed, 26 Mar 2014

The Volvo Concept Estate garnered Autoblog's Editors' Choice award as our team's favorite reveal at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show earlier this month for its sleek take on Scandinavian design, and now it looks like we might actually see the sleek wagon in production. Volvo is reportedly considering using the concept as the basis for a replacement for the V70 wagon, dubbing the new model V90.
It's rumored to be part of the Swedish brand's plan to launch a new range of 90-series vehicles. In addition to the more luxury-oriented wagon, the family of models includes the XC90 that is expected to debut later this year. According to MotorAuthority, Volvo is also considering using the same version of its Scalable Product Architecture that underpins the crossover to create a range-topping S90 sedan to replace the S80. Assuming it's a success, a C90 coupe is even a possibility. All of these models would be outfitted with the company's Drive-E four-cylinder engine family, which includes hybrids and plug-in hybrids.
The Swedish automaker is also looking downmarket with help from owner Geely in China with replacement 40-series models. According to MotorAuthority, the duo's rumored small car platform will be used to create an updated V40 wagon, C40 hatchback (a C30 successor), as well as an XC40 compact crossover.

Volvo pranks newest valet on the Italian Riviera

Wed, 24 Sep 2014

Being a valet on the Italian Riviera seems like a pretty sweet gig for a young guy. Not only do you get to watch beautiful people coming and going all day and night, but there's the opportunity to get behind the wheel of a plethora of exotic sports cars. Of course, being responsible for those expensive vehicles has to be pretty nerve wracking to get used to on the first day.
In a new commercial, Volvo pranks a new valet at the San Remo Casino to see how he would handle a surprise showing up on the red carpet. If the look on his face in the screenshot above doesn't show it, he's pretty shocked by what he sees. We don't want to spoil the reveal, so just watch the ad to find out. Afterward, if you're interested in the details behind how Volvo made it happen, you can check out a short, making-of documentary, here.

Apple CarPlay drawing early safety concerns [w/video]

Sun, 09 Mar 2014

Apple's CarPlay infotainment system hasn't made it into a single vehicle yet, and it's already drawing criticism for distracting drivers among safety advocates. The new tech unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show pairs users' iPhones with the car's dashboard display to make calls, dictate messages and listen to music. Some automakers, like Volvo, also let users interact with the HVAC system from the screen.
"The idea that people want to be on their phones, and therefore let's give them a way to do that -- that's not putting safety first, that's putting convenience and the desire to be in touch first," said Bruce Hamilton, manager of research and communications at the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety, to CNN Money.
Distracted driving is a huge concern on modern roads with more vehicles allowing drivers to use their smartphones through Bluetooth and infotainment systems. A Texas A&M study found that drivers' reaction time doubled while dictating text messages, according to CNN Money. The new tech is certainly not making drivers pay more attention.
