1992 VOLVO 740 WAGON

AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION

VERY LOW MILEAGE!! (FOR THE YEAR)- IT WAS ONLY DRIVEN 3,650 MILES PER YEAR ON AVERAGE!

THE ENGINE RUNS EXCELLENT. IT HAS THE WELL KNOWN, DURABLE B230 MOTOR.
THIS IS NOT A TURBO CHARGED ENGINE (NON TURBOS ARE MORE RELIABLE)

THE TRANSMISSION IS FINE.

THE CAR DRIVES EXCELLENT, YOU WOULD NOT THINK YOU ARE DRIVING A 22 YEAR OLD CAR. SHOCKS AND STRUTS ARE VERY GOOD. NOTHING RATTLING. THE BRAKES FEEL EXCELLENT. THERE ARE NO SQUEALS, VIBRATIONS ETC....

HEAD LIGHTS , TAIL LIGHTS , AND MARKER LIGHTS ARE IN VERY GOOD CONDITION

MATCHING GOODYEAR TIRES ARE VERY GOOD

ORIGINAL PAPERWORK IN GLOVEBOX

THE ORIGINAL STEREO WORKS WELL- PULLS IN RADIO STATIONS FINE. I NEVER USED THE TAPE DECK.

THE CAR HAS HEATED SEATS.

THE CAR WAS NEVER SMOKED IN

POWER WINDOWS AND POWER LOCKS ARE WORKING FINE.

THE SEATS ARE A REALLY NICE, MUCH NICER THAN WHAT YOU WOULD EXPECT FOR THE AGE. THIRD SEAT IN THE BACK.

PAINT SEEMS TO BE ALL ORIGINAL. A DING ON THE LEFT FRONT CORNER AND THE RIGHT FRONT FENDER AREA, CLEARLY PICTURED.
THE REST OF THE BODY IS EXCELLENT FOR AN 1992!

THE A/C WORKS HOWEVER THE CONDENSER HAS A SMALL LEAK. SINCE ITS ALREADY OCTOBER ITS NOT ANYTHING THAT NEEDS IMMEDIATE ATTENTION. THE HEAT IS BLAZING HOT!

THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER WORKS FINE

HEADLINER IS SAGGING AS YOU SEE IN THE PICTURES. ONE SMALL DOME LIGHT LENS WENT MISSING.

THE EXHAUST SOUNDS GOOD.

I HAVE A CLEAR, CLEAN, LIEN FREE TITLE IN HAND!

THERE IS NO REASON FOR ME TO THINK WHY THIS CAR WOULD NOT PASS VA INSPECTION AS SHE SITS.

IF I CAN THINK OF ANYTHING ELSE I WILL UPDATE. PLEASE ASK ME ANY QUESTIONS YOU MAY HAVE BEFORE YOU PLACE A BID!

THIS 22 YEAR OLD CAR IS SOLD AS-IS!

Volvo and Ericsson to take Spotify on the road

Thu, 27 Dec 2012

Volvo is working to bring Spotify to its vehicles. Ericsson has announced it will provide its Connected Vehicle Cloud service to Volvo for future products, and Spotify streaming music is part of that service. Like Toyota Entune and other infotainment services, the Connected Vehicle Cloud will use the driver's smartphone as a modem to stream music and serve as a base for other applications, all of which will be controllable through the vehicle interface. Expect to see the service launch in 2014, though Ericsson stresses later generations will feature an embedded modem with its own SIM card that will piggyback off of the owner's phone data plan.
But that system won't show up in production vehicles until at least 2016. In the interim, Ericsson says it will continue to work with government agencies on its car-to-car communication efforts. That program could eventually help pave the way toward autonomous road trains capable of helping vehicles travel safely together while also reducing traffic congestion. Wired has a full break down of the Connected Vehicle Cloud strategy. You can read it here.

Volvo celebrates 20 years of sleeper wagons with 850 T-5R and V60 Polestar

Mon, 10 Nov 2014

I must have been around Bar Mitzvah age when I was in the back of my parents' car on the highway as we passed a truck full of Volvo 850 T-5R wagons - half of them in black, half in banana yellow. It was one of the coolest things I'd ever seen: a whole gaggle of sleeper power wagons that were infinitely cooler than whatever minivan we were riding in. Hard to believe that was 20 years ago, but it was. And Polestar is understandably keen to mark the anniversary of the first overt Volvo performance wagon.
While Volvo's racing partner hasn't released some commemorative edition to celebrate that prototypical sleeper, it has shot a special batch of photos of the T-5R (based on the 850 wagon internally known as the 855 for its five doors) alongside its modern successor, the V60 Polestar. The images shot in Huntington Beach, CA, only go to show how much has changed in the two decades that separate them.
Whereas this front-drive T-5R packed a turbocharged inline-five driving 240 horsepower through a four-speed automatic propel the yellow box to 62 in 7.0 seconds, the turbo six in the svelter, Rebel Blue-clad 2015 V60 Polestar churns out 350 hp to all four wheels through a six-speed auto for a 4.9-second sprint. That's the kind of progress we can get behind. In fact, it's the sort of progress that everyone can get behind, really, because chances are whatever you're driving will probably have a hard time keeping up.

Hot rod tractor stars in Swedish version of Farmkhana

Mon, 08 Sep 2014

The Nordic countries are known for their beautiful fjords, blonde-haired populace and bitter cold for a good portion of the year. The hours spent indoors during the dark, cold season apparently gives a lot of time for some crazy brainstorming. Tire store chain Vianor is highlighting the Traktor Terror in a new video. If Ken Block is the master of Gymkhana, then these guys know all about Farmkhana in their custom, turbocharged tractor.
According to the YouTube description from Vianor, the tractor is a 1956 Volvo BM Terrier with an added roll cage, adjustable front suspension and extended frame. The engine is thoroughly Swedish, and it's based on a Volvo 940 Turbo with a Volvo 240 head and Volvo 740 intercooler. However, it uses a Saab turbo Prospark ignition and fuel system. All told, the setup is claimed to make 225 horsepower and is capable of a top speed of 60 miles per hour.
That's not crazy power, but this tractor can certainly put it down. The farm machine has no problem smoking those big rear wheels and drifts easily.... although, it may be a tiny little bit unstable (hence the roll cage). If nothing else, this looks like the world's most fun way to be a farmer, that's for sure.
