THIS BUS HAS RECENTLY UNDERGONE AN EXTENSIVE COSMETIC MAKE OVER, ALONG WITH QUITE A BIT OF MECHANICAL WORK AND UP DATEING. THE ENTIRE BUS WAS DISMANTELD FOR PAINT AND BODY, ALL WINDOWS REMOVED ALONG WITH EVERY PIECE OF TRIM AND HARDWARE TO GET THE BEST RESULTS FROM PAINT JOB. THE BUS WAS COMPLETELY COVERED IN PRIMER SEALER PRIOR TO PAINT WICH IS A GORGOUSE SAGE GREEN AND CREAMY OFF WHITE 2 TONE, LAYED ON NICE AND THICK AND THEN BUFFED TO A BEAUTIFUL SMOOTH FINISH. THE BUS WAS THEN REASEMBLED WITH ALL NEW RUBBER WINDOW SEALS, ALL NEW DOOR SEALS AND NEW LIGHT LENSES AND SEALS.

THE INTERIOR IS ONE OF THE NICEST YOU WILL SEE. WE COMPLETELY REPLACED EVERY PIECE OF WOOD IN THE BUS WITH A BRAND NEW VDUB CLASSICS CAMPER INTERIOR. THIS THING IS A KNOCK OUT!! ALL CABINETES ARE QUALITY MADE OF FRESH NEW BALTIC BIRCH WOOD ALONG WITH MATCHING FLOOR, CEILING AND SIDE PANELS; ALL MADE FROM ORIGINAL WESTFALIA TEMPLATES. IT EVEN HAS A NICE, NEW ICE BOX. ALL UPHOLSTERY WAS CUSTOM MADE WITH OUR VINYL, TWEED AND WHITE PIPING DESIGN IN A NICE BEIGE TO COMPLEMENT THE BEAUTIFUL NEW WOOD WORK.

THE ENGINE WAS REMOVED AND GONE THROUGH WITH ALL NEW SEALS INCLUDING REAR MAIN SEAL. A NEW CLUTCH, CLUTCH CABLE, PRESSURE PLATE AND THROW OUT BEARING WERE INSTALLED TO INSURE SMOOTH SHIFTING. THE CARBURATOR AND FUEL PUMP WERE REPLACED WITH NEW, ALONG WITH FUEL LINES AND FILTER. COMPLETE TUNE UP WITH VALVE ADJUSTMENT AND OIL CHANGE, ELECTRONIC POINTS INSTALLED, ALL 4 CV AXLE BOOTS REPLACED ON TRANSAXLE AND BEARINGS REPACKED, TRANSAXLE FLUID CHANGE. NEW GERMAN MASTERCYLINDER, ALL 4 SOFT BRAKE LINES, ALONG WITH BRAKE FLUID FLUSH. REPLACED STEERING BOX, AND TIRES ARE NEAR NEW!!

1000-hp Mk1 VW Golf is terrifyingly cool

There are plenty of things to love about the Mk1 Volkswgen Golf. The machine's horsepower isn't one of them. From the factory, the little hatch cranked a breathy 112 horsepower from the most robust form of its 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine. Boba motoring, however, has taken that figure and multiplied it by a factor of nearly 10. If 1,000 horsepower sounds terrifying in a machine with a wheelbase of just 94.5 inches, it should. A massive Garrett GTX4202R turbo force-feeds the little mill through a tweaked 16-valve KR head. The crew calls the beast the 16Vampir, and we think that's fitting.
Of course, we'd wager you quit reading right about the time you set your eyes on that headline. Those of you who've stuck around this long can point yourselves below to see the maniacal creation in action. You won't be disappointed.

Volkswagen is not messing around when it characterizes its new MQB architecture as modular. It's already underpinning the VW Golf, Audi A3, Seat Leon and Skoda Octavia, and will soon form the basis for many more. And here is the latest.
Unveiled at the Chengdu Motor Show in China this weekend is the new Volkswagen Lamando, a four-door coupe similar in size to a Jetta but with the svelter roofline of the larger Passat-based CC to go after the Mercedes-Benz CLA. It's essentially the production version of the New Midsize Coupe concept that previewed its arrival at the Beijing Motor Show this past April, and will be built locally for local consumption by VW's joint venture with SAIC.
Power comes from either a 1.4- or 2.0-liter turbo four mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox, with an equivalent price tag below $30,000. Whether this or any similar vehicle ever arrives in North American showrooms remains to be seen, but we'll be watching to find out. VW agrees to halt next-gen rally car development to help others stay in WRC

Volkswagen has petitioned the FIA to hold on to the current specifications for cars in the World Rally Championship, according to Autosport.com. The move is evidently an effort to keep as many competitors in the sport as possible, despite the fact that using the current spec racers may actually hurt Volkswagen's chances at winning. The three factory teams currently competing in the WRC are at the end of a three-year homologation cycle at the end of 2013, and new cars are expected to bow next year. But developing new racers could cost as much as $4.7 million.
That price tag would put M-Sport (which fields Ford racers) out of the WRC game for 2014 and would put Citroën participation in question as well. VW has already begun work on the next iteration of its Polo R WRC, and the hatch has nabbed four wins in six rounds this season. Now it appears that car won't bow until at least 2015. The FIA has officially agreed to freeze homologation of new WRC cars until the end of next season.
