This is an FJ80 model LC that will appeal to those that are interested in that particular body style and specifically looking for a LC. I will be perfectly honest with you, this is a toy. If you are looking for cheap, hassle free transportation that gets good fuel economy and has lots of power, keep looking, this isn't it. In fact, if you are not familiar with this vehicle, I really would rather not sell it to you or answer a lot of questions. It runs fine, 4-wheel drive works with no problems, but it's a 23 yr old truck with 140K miles on it, and all the known shortcomings of this model year- it is what it is. It has the small nicks and dings in it that you would expect, but overall it looks great. It drives like a tank, but will go in whatever direction you point, and it doesn't hunt all over the road. The interior is in pretty good shape for a  23 year old car- it's original, and it looks and smells like it. I bought this truck with the intention of taking it on a super long road trip to south america so i have all the confidence that it would go anywhere but the poor gas mileage turned me off from that idea. These trucks usually have upwards of 200k (at least) on them and at 140K it was driven an average of 6K per year. Put new tires on then stopped, everything else is completely stock ready to be altered or completely restored. I was planning to get into it but changed my mind too many projects and this one has to go. I am the third owner of the truck and since it's been in my possession it's sat in a parking lot all of which to say the truck has not been abused in any capacity, however it will need to be gone through and have the maintenance caught up on. This is a NO RESERVE auction and it's being sold AS-IS.

On Jul-01-14 at 20:01:36 PDT, seller added the following information:

If you have no feedback please send me a message otherwise I will remove your bid.

forgot to mention that the truck will need exhaust for sure it has a leak.

lastly if you have questions please send me your contact number and I will reach out to you. I'm open to all reasonable offers

VW targeting 10M sales in 2014

Sun, 16 Mar 2014

Volkswagen Group believes it can sell over 10 million vehicles in 2014, with hopes of overtaking Toyota as the world's largest automaker in the process. If VW can do it, it would meet that goal four years earlier than planned. Of course, Toyota isn't sitting still - it also hopes to top the 10 million-car threshold this year and has the advantage of already holding the top spot.
"With rising volume and new models, we will increasingly see positive earnings effects as well," said VW Group CEO Martin Winterkorn during its annual press conference, according to Automotive News. The company is spending huge amounts of money to propel it to the top, investing 84.2 billion euros ($117 billion) through 2018, and according to AN it plans to introduce over 100 new models worldwide among all of its brands by the end of next year.
The German automaker may get an extra boost as the European car industry shows signs of emerging from its yearlong stagnation and China continues to grow. In January, VW Group was up 8.5 percent in Europe and 15.5 percent in China, according to its own figures. However, the US has been slowing with Volkswagen brand sales down 19.04 percent in January and down 13.81 percent in February.

Toyota Camry could lose No. 1 sedan spot next year [w/video]

Fri, 27 Sep 2013

Eleven months after Toyota claimed the 2012 sales crown a couple of months early thanks to the Camry, the headlines this year have been quite a bit different to last. Even though the Camry remains the best selling car so far in 2013 and its volume has increased year-on-year, it has lost market share due to the 20-percent sales explosion in the midsize segment. That means people are buying more of the competitor offerings like the Honda Accord, Nissan Altima and Ford Fusion - the Altima, in fact, outsold the Camry by 100 units in March.
In July it was reported that Toyota was upping Camry incentives and fleet sales to keep its lead and that dealer inventory was climbing as, again, competitors got better at fighting the champion. In August Ford doubled down on production of the Fusion, adding a line in Flat Rock, MI to keep up with demand.
Bloomberg has a report looking at the numbers behind the Camry's dominance, as well as what appears to be a recorded group interview with Toyota USA CEO Jim Lentz, and wonders aloud whether the Camry will be able to hold its top spot in 2014. Barring catastrophe it has this year locked up, being more than 30,000 sales ahead of the next-best seller as of the end of August, but it has done so with higher incentives and lower transaction prices than its competitors. According to Strategic Vision the Camry's consideration rate among consumers has also declined by a percentage point, while the consideration rate for the Accord and Fusion has increased by one point and two points, respectively.

Toyota tops Consumer Reports best, worst used car values

Tue, 18 Mar 2014

We often mock Toyota for building boring, soulless cars, but a new study by Consumer Reports suggests that regardless of whether that's true, the company has some of the best used cars on the market. In its report on used cars from 2004-2013, the Japanese automaker had 11 vehicles among its brands on the list - more than any other automaker.
CR breaks the list down by cost and vehicle size, and Toyota has at least one entry at every price point and in nearly every segment. To score a recommendation, a vehicle had to perform well in the magazine's initial tests and score above-average reliability results. It also tried to only suggest cars with electronic stability control. Of the 28 recommended vehicles, Honda/Acura had the second most mentions at six, and Ford, Hyundai and Subaru managed two each.
The Detroit brands also made it to the list, but not in a positive way. Consumer Reports compiled a list of 22 vehicles it wouldn't recommend because "they have multiple years of much-worse-than-average overall reliability." General Motors had the most unrecommended models on the list at six, but Chrysler and Ford weren't far behind, with five cars each from their brands not making the grade. The full list of recommendations is available on CR's website.
