Sweet! Suzuki Samurai 4x4 on 2040-cars
Godfrey, Illinois, United States
Must sell my baby. I've had this since '07. It's been wrecked. I fixed most of that, but to make it perfect, it will need some work. One roll bar was cut by fire fighters. See pictures. I rolled it over on it's side. The driver's side has some markings of that. It does NOT leak as a result. VERY LITTLE SURFACE RUST. WHEN I BOUGHT THIS, IT HAD JUST BEEN SPRAYED ALL OVER THE OUTSIDE AND UNDER WITH BLACK THICK TRUCK BED LINER TO PREVENT RUST. That's why it's not smooth. I painted it yellow, (original color white). The paint job is not that great. I was not planning on EVER selling this. The back seat was never there, no bolts or any sign of a back seat. The head lights have smiley faces, those come right off. There are cat paw prints on the bumper, from my cat. I didn't paint over it. The doors come off, of course. + CHROME WHEELS! (they do have some rust that will come off with elbow grease) NEW TOP, NO SCRATCHES RIPS OR TEARS! NEW CD PLAYER/AM FM WITH USB CHARGER AND AUX OUTPUT SPARE TIRE COVER NEW BIKINI TOP! I HAVE AN EXTRA BAR THAT HOLDS UP THE SOFT TOP. |

Larger SX4 to lead raft of new or revised Suzuki models
Thu, 30 Aug 2012A few weeks ago, we showed you what is likely in store for the next-generation Suzuki SX4, but What Car? now has some insider info of what might be in store for other products in the aging Suzuki lineup... at least in the UK.
When the official design sketch of the Suzuki S-Cross concept was released, Suzuki said that the concept car would be a C-segment crossover, closer in size to the Grand Vitara, and going up against some higher-volume rivals like the Ford Kuga (Escape) and Nissan Qashqai (similar to our Rogue). The Suzuki Grand Vitara is also due for a redesign, and both models will likely be on showroom floors together, with the Grand Vitara acting as the more rugged alternative to the hatchback-like SX4 replacement. Not much is known about the new Grand Vitara, but a new satellite navigation system is expected to debut in the SUV and eventually spread into other Suzuki models.
Suzuki will start selling the new SX4 and Grand Vitara in the United States this fall, and these two new crossovers should be a welcome addition to the company's diminutive U.S. dealer network that has been starved of product since the early 2000s. Automotive News adds a little gloom to this topic by pointing out that, after the introduction of the new SX4 and Grand Vitara this fall, American Suzuki has no new products planned through the 2015 model year. Suzuki dealers in Europe are more fortunate, as a refreshed version of the Jimny (formerly known as the Samurai here in the States) and an all-new Alto will both be joining the lineup.
Suzuki ending auto sales in Canada, too
Wed, 27 Mar 2013Suzuki of Japan has reportedly made the decision that almost everyone assumed it would make when it announced it was leaving the US market: when the 2014 model year concludes, it will no longer sell cars in Canada. With six employees overseeing its auto business in Canada and a dealer network that has shrunk to 55 outlets in the country, we can't say we're shocked.
At the time of the US announcement, however, the senior VP of sales and marketing in the automotive division of Suzuki Canada said it would be able to survive on its own because, among other reasons, Canadians prefer smaller, more fuel-efficient cars that fit the company's offerings. Five months later, after some time to think about a 30-percent drop in sales to open up 2013 instead of the 1.4-percent increase in sales that Suzuki Canada posted last year, things have evidently changed.
The Globe and Mail reports that as is in the US, Suzuki's motorcycle, ATV and marine divisions in Canada will remain.
Suzuki previews Crosshiker, X-Lander, Hustler ahead of Tokyo
Tue, 29 Oct 2013With the Tokyo Motor Show looming on the horizon, Suzuki has revealed a trio of concept cars it will present at the expo.
First up is the Crosshiker concept, a compact crossover that looks good enough in metallic red, but in its essence reminds us of the oft-maligned X-90 convertible crossover coupe. Based on the G70/Regina concept, the Crosshiker packs a 1.0-liter three-cylinder engine into a compact form that weighs just 1,785 pounds.
Next comes the X-Lander, which strikes us as a smaller take on the formula espoused by the Isuzu VX-02 or Land Rover DC100 Sport concepts. Unfortunately based on the Jimny, the white X-Lander incorporates a 1.3-liter engine with a robotized manual and four-wheel drive into a high-riding, chopped-windshield convertible sport-ute form.
