Clean 1986 Suzuki Samurai JX is up for a NO RESERVE auction. I purchased this vehicle right here on ebay a few months ago. I replaced the carburator, O2 sensor, and new catylitic converter. California emissions test passed and vehicle registered 03/13. Starts right up and engine runs well. No smoke but some minor oil leaks. 4X4 works great in hi and low range. Soft top needs to be replaced but it has all supports in good working order. It is a 1986 model so it has some minor issues. The things I have noticed are as follows: Fuel tank has been repaired with sealant and is now leaking at about 3/4 tank full, Blower motor and fan work but vents need to be reconnected, Tailgate is slightly bent but still latches securley. Brakes and steering are tight. Lights and wipers work. Please email me to ask any specific questions or if you would like any additional pictures. Sold as is and where is. Pick up in Pismo Beach CA. or arrange your own shipping. A $500 deposit is due within 48 hours of the end of auction via PayPal and full payment due within 7 days of auction end. Certified check, money order, or bank transfer for final payment. PayPal only if you are willing to pay the transaction fee. I thank you for looking and happy bidding.

Suzuki Samurai lives on with new Jimny facelift
Thu, 15 Nov 2012The Suzuki Jimny is "sold across 188 global markets," but one of them isn't ours. For UK buyers who can buy a Jimny in SZ3 or SZ4 trims, the 2013 model has just been introduced with tweaks peppered throughout the vehicle. First among them is a soft redesign up front, a new bumper, grille and hood updating the face and adding an extra 30 mm to the length of the little SUV. Breeze Blue metallic paint is a new hue but it's only available on the more expensive SZ4.
Inside, customers will find new headrests and ISOFIX child seat fasteners for both Jimny versions, and for the SZ3, new seat fabrics. The 1.3-liter engine with variable valve timing growls out 84 horsepower and 81 pound-feet of torque, returning 39.8 Imperial combined mpg if fitted with a manual, 38.7 Imperial mpg combined in the automatic.
On-the-road prices are £11,995 ($19,016 US) for the SZ3, £12,900 ($20,451 US) for the manual-equipped SZ4, £13,800 ($21,877 US) with the automatic. More information can be found in the press release below.
Suzuki has to take out $45M loan just to shutter US dealers
Thu, 08 Nov 2012Bloomberg reports American Suzuki is set to borrow up to $45 million to to close its automotive dealerships and freshen up its it motorcycle and marine business. Suzuki Motor Corporation will loan American Suzuki the funds at three percent below the London Interbank offered rate in order to offer dealer owners a cash payment in exchange for voluntarily abandoning franchise agreements. The company's 216 dealers have 10 days to make a decision on the matter. Under the plan, Suzuki would give dealer owners half of what they're owed in one lump sum, and the dealers would then be able to pursue the remaining debt through the company's bankruptcy procedure.
U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Scott C. Clarkson granted American Suzuki interim authority to borrow the funds, but Bloomberg reports the company will likely return to court in a few weeks to seek up to $100 million. According to Richard Pachulski, a lawyer for Suzuki America, the automaker may owe its dealers somewhere around $50 million.
Mitsubishi CEO vows to stay in US on heels of Suzuki's departure
Wed, 07 Nov 2012By now, you're surely aware that Suzuki is pulling out of the US market. It was a bit of a foregone conclusion to most who've been paying attention to the automotive realm, but it still sent a small shockwave through the industry. And one of the most oft-heard retorts goes something like this: "Next up: Mitsubishi."
It's easy to understand why many question Mitsubishi's existence in the States. After all, now that Suzuki is gone, Mitsubishi is the Japanese automaker with the fewest sales in America. Furthermore, the automaker's market share has dropped from .7 percent to just .4 percent after seeing sales fall 29 percent to 50,103 units through October.
In any case, Mitsubishi fans needn't worry. Speaking to Automotive News, Mitsubishi President Osamu Masuko said, "We have no intention whatsoever of withdrawing from the US market." That's about as clear as clear can get. It's also worth mentioning that Gayu Uesugi was just named chairman of Mitsubishi Motors North America, and his main responsibility will be to revitalize the brand in the US.
