1986 Suzuki Samurai Hardtop Great Running Rust Free California Car No Reserve! on 2040-cars
Newport, Minnesota, United States
NO RESERVE, min. bid $7400. If you bid you are committing to PURCHASE this vehicle. $500 deposit due within 48 hours after close of auction and full payment within 7 days. I will not ship but will make available for pickup. It has a tow bar and wiring so it can be towed anywhere or you can drive it anywhere. (I drove it from San Diego to Minnesota when I bought it) NO TRADES, WILL NOT SELL PARTS, and will not sell outside of the ebay auction. It runs great, the interior is good, the seats are good with the exception of the vinyl split on the drivers seat back. They need to be cleaned! If selling price exceeds $7500 I will include a grey fabric Rugged Ridge Samurai seat !! Everything works, the carpet is like new, 4x4 works flawlessly. The body is straight and correct. Fan has all speeds, intermittent wipers work, radio works, clock works, etc. INCLUDES Suzuki SHOP MANUALS and VEHICLE COVER ! ! Also includes many extra little parts, wiper blades, spare door mirror(new) cubby hole door, and other misc. stuff. (I might have air and oil filters around too, but no promises) The tow bar attaches in minutes, and it's wired so all you do is plug it in to your vehicle trailer plug and then the rear lights, turn signals, etc work along with your vehicle lights. The paint has faded in spots, see the pics, it is worn off on the driver's side interior at the base of the window (where your arm hangs out in the summer!) the paint on the top of the bumper is faded, and the paint under the rear door lock is flawed. There are a couple small dings on the passenger side of the hood apparently from the roof rack bracket contacting it when it was lifted into place. The stripes are cracking in spots from the sun. If you have any questions, please ask BEFORE bidding. |

Suzuki demand in US rises after bankruptcy
Wed, 26 Dec 2012Following word that Suzuki is ceasing car sales in America, it appears that demand for the Japanese automaker's wares have increased. According to The Detroit News, American Suzuki Motor Corp. will import an additional 2,500 vehicles to quench demand that has jumped since the company announced that it was filing for bankruptcy and ending sales in America.
Dealers recently informed their sales personnel that no more vehicles would be produced and that this was the final push. With heavy incentives and a seven-year warranty as value-adds, November sales for Suzuki rose in November some 22 percent, up to 2,224 vehicles. December sales also rose, but neither month's gains outweigh the long-term losses for the automaker. While Suzuki will sell roughly 22,000 cars this year in the US, it was selling about 120,000 annually before 2008.
As it stands, Suzuki will sell off the rest of its vehicle inventory, including the 2,500 additional units, and dealers will continue to provide parts an warranty work. With all of this negative news for the automaker, it's impressive to see an interest in Suzuki vehicles even with the imminent shuttering of its North American car sales.
Suzuki bringing compact iV-4 to Frankfurt
Wed, 31 Jul 2013Even though American Suzuki Motor Corporation filed for bankruptcy last year and stopped selling cars in the US and Canada as part of its reorganization, there are still plenty of countries around the world where Suzuki continues to sell autos. For those markets, the automaker is working on a compact sport-utility vehicle, called the iV-4, which will be unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September.
Suzuki says the iV-4 "embodies the basic ruggedness of an SUV," and that its styling is modern and innovative. We'll have to take Suzuki's word on that one, though the teaser above certainly looks the part, with the grille reminding us of the one found on the Jeep Grand Cherokee (minus a few slats, of course).
Scroll down for the short-and-sweet press release, and expect the full brace of information to be revealed in September.
2013 Suzuki SX4 gets new generation to carry on without us [w/video]
Wed, 06 Mar 2013Despite the fact that the coffin has been sealed on Suzuki's US automotive arm, the brand is carrying on elsewhere in the world. The first new product to spearhead the Japanese automaker's product offerings in Europe is this SX4 crossover, making its official debut here at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show. You may remember the little SX4 as the cheapest all-wheel-drive car on sale in the US, packing cute styling and efficient, affordable packaging. And it doesn't appear that the formula has changed too much for this new generation, despite what we think are less attractive new duds derived from Suzuki's 2012 S Cross Concept.
The new SX4 is powered by a choice of two 1.6-liter engines - one diesel, one petrol - the former mated to a six-speed manual transmission while the latter uses a CVT with a "seven-speed manual mode" operated by steering wheel-mounted paddles. All-wheel drive remains intact on the SX4, now with four driver-selectable modes and the Allgrip name.
Suzuki is touting the SX4 as having the world's first double sliding glass sunroof, offering "the largest opening areas" in the segment. Overall, the updated interior looks nicely designed and quite functional, though not exactly a shining beacon of refinement.
