The gas gauge doesn't work, the windshield has a crack across the bottom. The hood and passengers side fender have been replaced and are not quite the same color. The passengers side of the car is a little dented in spots and the cars as some touch up paint on it. There are dings and dents in the car. As shown in the pics the front seats are pulling apart on the sides and the drives side seat as wear marks, but no rips. You have to push on the back of the sunroof as you push the button to open it and then it opens the rest of the way and closes fine. The hood has a skull emblem glued to it, see pics. The driver's side automatic seat belt does not move forward, so you have to manually hook and unhook the shoulder belt. As far as I know there is nothing else wrong with it. I have had it for two months and put over $800 into it."

1992 Subaru SVX 4 speed automatic with manual shift mode, power sunroof, Leather seats, power mirrors, heated mirrors, power locks, new Pioneer Cd/mp3 player with aux input, anti-lock brakes, front and rear disc brakes, drivers side airbag, it has a factory keyless remote, but I can't get it to work, also has a factory alarm. It is a fun car to drive full time awd, 230hp, 3.3L h-6 ( also called a boxer six), the 0-60 time is rated at 7.3 seconds. It has 165,320 miles on it.
Runs and drives great, but makes noise because the bearings in the transmission are going out.
Work that has been done to it in the last two months:
Martin's Auto to have the Cooling Fans fixed,
Ryan's Import to have:
Climate control fixed,
transmission flush,
transmission filter changed,
thermostat replaced,
transmission cooler put on,
ac converted from r-12 to 134a,
I replaced the driver's side strut on 6/24/13
I did an oil and filter change on 6/3/13 I put Quaker State Synthetic oil in it.
I also put a Pioneer Mp3/cd player with aux input in it from Best Buy
Work that was done by previous owner, ( I have receipts):
right front CV axle replaced on 12/29/11,
starter replaced on 10/20/10,
water pump, timing belt, cam seal replaced on 8/27/10 with 153,989 miles on it.

We have two other cars that run fine with no issues so the SVX has to go.
I just don't know how to fix it myself and don't have the money to take it to a shop again.

Nada low book value is $2,475 and average is $3,650.
At Ryan's Imports they said they would charge $300 labor to put a transmission in and the cheapest one I could find was $800. So even paying $1000 for the car and $800 for the transmission and $300 labor $2100 is still under low book value for this car. They only made 14,000 of them in the US so the value will go up with time.

I have had this car for Two months paid $500 for it put over $800 into, but I am willing to sell it for $1200.

This car is sold as is, you are responsible for payment and delivery of car.  The car runs and drives fine, but since the bearings in the transmission are going out, I am not sure how far or for how long it can be driven.  If you can you should look at it before you buy it to make sure it is what you want.  I tried to describe and show everything the best I could.

Check CL for this car in the Spokane (Shadle) Area.

This car might have a few more miles than listed, due to people test driving it, it is listed on other sites like craigslist.
Also someone was nice enough to let me know that the wheels are directional and on the wrong side, so I have changed that.  The tires that were on the car when I bought it were cracking on the sides, so I had the tires on my 2010 HHR put on it they have 43,000 miles on them.

Factory Five's Subaru WRX-based 818 kit now on sale [w/video]

Fri, 21 Mar 2014

The Subaru WRX has always needed a dash more style, and the do-it-yourself carmakers at Factory Five are looking to accomplish a lot more than that with their new mid-engine, rear-wheel drive 818. The sports car started with a contest in 2011 to create the shape for the company's next vehicle, while sticking within certain limits. A designer named Nouphone Bansasi had his entry chosen, and first cars were completed last year.
The 818 is named after its target weight of 818 kilograms (1,803 pounds), and it's offered in two forms. The S starts at $9,990 and is meant for street use, with two seats and a basic interior. The R model for $10,990 is more track-focused and features a tiny windshield and full roll cage. The company claims that complete cars can be built for around $15,000, after factoring in the donor Subaru. Performance is very brisk, with acceleration to 60 miles per hour in under four seconds, according to Motor Authority.
The kits are meant to be something that even a relative novice could put together. All the builder needs to provide is a 2002-2007 Impreza or WRX. The car donates its turbocharged boxer four-cylinder engine, transmission, axles, brakes, steering and other major components. Factory Five supplies the spaceframe, body, suspension, lights, windshield and some interior trim. It doesn't even need paint, thanks to its gel-coated fiberglass body panels. The company also offers a laundry list of options, including carbon fiber aero components, upgraded suspension parts, improved brakes and more. Kits can be ordered in either left- or right-hand drive.

2015 Subaru Outback

Tue, 01 Jul 2014

"We like producing cars that are different." That's the company line trumpeted by several Subaru executives during the launch of the 2015 Outback - one of Fuji Heavy's most successful vehicles to date. Managing Editor Jeremy Korzeniewski accurately noted that while Subaru has never really found salvation with its mainstream sedans, it's the higher-riding, butcher offerings like the Outback and the Impreza-based XV Crosstrek that have been sales stars for the Japanese company. In 2013, for example, Subaru sold nearly three Outbacks for every Legacy it moved. And in 2014, the XV is on pace to outsell the Impreza upon which its based.
But Subarus have always been different, catering to unique customers that desire something a bit more special than your run-of-the-mill sedan or crossover. It's clearly worked, with Subaru having posted 30 months of year-over-year sales increases as of this writing. And even as the automaker's portfolio goes more mainstream, smoothing out its serially awkward styling and gunning for a larger market share here in the United States, that intrinsic Subaru differentiation is still baked in to each and every product.
It's that new Outback we're here to talk about today, a vehicle that's been comprehensively redesigned for the 2015 model year while not shaking up the formula that's made it successful since its inception in the mid-1990s, back when it (arguably) launched what we now know as the crossover utility vehicle segment. It's still plenty different - and plenty good, too.

Subaru ups US sales projections to 500k units

Wed, 10 Sep 2014

Subaru is going absolutely gangbusters so far in 2014, with growing year-over-year sales every month this year adding to the streak of 33 consecutive months. The prognosis is so positive that the Japanese brand is revising its 2014 forecast to 500,000 vehicles or more, from a previous estimated 460,000. If it reaches the goal, it would be the first time that the automaker hit the half-million mark here.
Subaru has been growing steadily in the US for a while now. Annual sales have increased for the past five consecutive years with 2014 not indicating for that to change. For August alone, the company moved 50,246 vehicles, up 22.37 percent year-over-year, and the business proclaimed it as the best month in its history.
According to Subaru, it believes that the growth for the last two years has been fueled by the latest Forester and XV Crosstrek last year and the new Legacy and Outback this year. "The market is telling us that we are delivering products that consumers want at the right prices," said Thomas J. Doll, president and chief operating officer at Subaru of America.
