This is one of the cleanest Subaru Wagons to be found in the United States.  It is a two owner, no accident, local Huntsville Alabama vehicle that has never lived in snow and has had all of its service completed.  It has a new water pump, timing belt, gaskets replaced, every thing is fresh, serviced ,and ready for another 107k miles.  It is AWD, great in any weather conditions, has lots of rear storage area, good tires and brakes, automatic transmission, all power, windows, locks, sunroof, alloys, and books.  It has normal wear, some light scratches, and a couple of minors door dings, but I would rate it an 8 out of 10 for body condition, a 9 for interior condition, and it is a non-smoking vehicle.  I am a small licensed broker in Huntsville for 15 years and handle only enjoyable, sporty vehicles.  Feel free to call or text with any questions you have.  256-527-7348  I am listing it for $9400 obo but won't be discounting it over a couple of hundred dollars max.  It is a vehicle that is reasonable priced, well below KBB retail, of $10,400.  Thanks for looking.  If you are looking for a rust free, nice southern car, this is it.  Everything is in good working condition, all power options, etc.

2015 Subaru WRX and WRX STI configurator comes online

Thu, 03 Apr 2014

Subaru fans, get your clicking fingers ready - the configurator for both the 2015 WRX and the WRX STI are live on the company's consumer website.
With three trims of the standard WRX and two of the WRX STI available, customers can price out their ideal rally rocket. Aside from choosing a trim level, there's not a whole lot for dreamers to do here. A single interior trim (black) can be paired with a decent spectrum of colors. Each trim level only comes with one optional package, which ranges from $2,000 to $2,500 and includes some combination of navigation, a Harmon/Kardon stereo or push-button start. There are also a number of dealer-installed accessories available, as well.
Hop on over to Subaru's US consumer page, and start building your perfect road-legal rally car.

Revisit the charms of the 1978 Subaru Brat

Mon, 27 Jan 2014

The Subaru Brat is the automotive equivalent of a teenager with a mullet: weird, a little reckless but brimming with enough self-confidence to make it cool.
The Brat came from Subaru's desire to compete in the burgeoning light pickup market of the late-1970s. To get around the so-called Chicken Tax that added a 25 percent tariff on imported pickup trucks, Subaru threw two seats in the bed, which technically allowed it to be classified it as a passenger car. The result was a great, weird combination of a complete lack of safety, with a low price and lots of driving fun.
In the video below, Motor Trend's Johnny Lieberman takes a 1978 Brat through the desert and shows just how much fun a little pickup can be.

Subaru recalling 660k vehicles in some states for possible brake line corrosion

Thu, 03 Jul 2014

Subaru is recalling 660,238 vehicles located in 20 US states that use salt on their roads. It's possible that salty water could splash onto the rear brake lines, and it could eventually cause corrosion and potentially perforation, leading to a fluid leak.
The recall covers the 2005-2009 Outback and Legacy, 2008-2011 Impreza, 2008-2014 WRX and STI and 2009-2013 Forester. However, only vehicles currently or formerly registered in the following snowy US states or districts are covered: Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, West Virginia, Wisconsin and the District of Columbia. The company previously recalled the 2005-2009 Legacy and Outback to repair this problem, and now it's added the additional models, plus any of the original cars it missed the first time.
According to the defect notice from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, Subaru found a total of 24 cases of corrosion in US leading up to the recall. There was a single case of actual brake line perforation, but it happened in Switzerland, according to the document. The company believes that it would take seven or more seasons of winter driving on salty roads before any corroding would begin.
