This Subaru Outback had a knock in the engine so I purchased a 2.2 engine that came out of an Impreza. I had read online that the 2.2 engine would bolt right in place and replace the 2.5. I found that the exhaust manifold is different and also there is an electrical thing on the intake that is different. I purchased the exhaust pieces but do not know what to do about the electric thing. I also have the engine that was removed from the car and had it sold on ebay but the buyer never has responded about picking it up. I will also send it with the winning bidder. This would be good for someone who could repair the 2.5 engine that had just had the heads rebuilt before it overheated due to a metal tube not being tightened on the back of the engine. The 2.2 engine is still in the car also if someone knows how to finish installing it with the electric thing on the intake or they could sell that and make some of their money back. 2015 Subaru WRX caught testing in US on Mulholland
Fri, 07 Jun 2013In April, we got our first glimpse at the 2015 2015 Subaru WRX - the car was caught in STI form in photos and in motion running around Germany's infamous Nürburgring. That's all well and good, but obviously Subaru will sell a good number of the hotter Impreza models here in the United States, and thus, it's nice to now see a video of the next WRX testing out in California, albeit in what looks to be non-STI form.
Originally posted on the Subaru Owners Club website, this video comes from YouTube user 31200MulhollandHwy. And that's quite appropriate, since the video clearly shows the now de-winged WRX prototype testing on the well-known - you guessed it - Mulholland Highway. Just like before, we're disappointed that the prototypes spotted testing don't appear to be as bold and beautiful as the WRX Concept that Subaru brought to this year's New York Auto Show. Nevertheless, we'll hold our final judgments until the camouflage is peeled away.

Subaru looks back on record-setting WRX STI from 2011 Isle of Man
Fri, 27 Dec 2013In what we can only presume/hope is a precursor to the launch of the next-gen WRX STI, Subaru has released three videos now giving us a look back at the history of the STI-badged WRX models. In this third video, Dominick Infante, national manager of product communications at Subaru of America, got ahold of the automaker's 2011 WRX STI that broke records for the Isle of Man TT Challenge a couple of years ago.
In 2011, rally driver Mark Higgins piloted this car to a lap speed record of 115 miles per hour and a lap time record of 19:56.7 around the 37.8-mile course. The race-prepped STI, which Infante refers to as an "STI on steroids," features a beefed-up suspension, a wonderful-sounding open exhaust and the removal of the speed limiter to go with full roll cage and racing seats and harnesses.
