2012 Subaru WRX

  • 8011 miles
  • Black exterior
  • Black interior with red trim
  • 100% stock
  • Excellent condition inside and out
  • Upgraded 6 year factory bumper to bumper warranty, good until April of 2018
  • Fully synthetic oil changes only!
Car is in perfect mechanical condition, engine runs as good as the day I brought it home from the dealership.  It only has ~8000 miles on it.  This car has never been to a track of any kind or raced in any way.  The tires and brakes are still in excellent shape with plenty of life left on them.  I have all of the documentation and manuals from the dealership.  I still have all sets of keys and wireless door lock/unlockers from the factory as well.  I upgraded the factory warranty at the time of purchase to a full 6 years and it is good until April of 2018.  The warranty is bumper to bumper, so if ANYTHING goes wrong with the car between now and April of 2018 you can take the car to any Subaru dealership and they will take care of it free of charge to you.

I really love this car and hate to part with it, but I recently became engaged and am saving for a wedding, honeymoon and house and so for now, the car has to go.  This car is as close to new as you are going to find for a used car on EBAY.  100% stock, never raced, never wrecked.  The car came with the following factory options from Subaru:
  • (K8H) CENTER ARMREST - GRAY
  • (B8A) ALL WEATHER FLOOR MATS
  • (Y8I) BUMPER COVER- SW
  • (T8D) STI SHORT THROW SHIFTER 5M/T
  • (M8F) CARGO TRAY - OFF BLACK

Subaru revisits 1998 Impreza 22B STI

Thu, 05 Dec 2013

It was 1998 when Subaru made some crucial changes to its World Rally Championship Impreza, such as increasing the displacement of the turbocharged flat-four-cylinder engine from 2.0 to 2.2 liters and fitting wide fender flares. Subaru won the WRC manufacturer championship with the car that year, and it also was the year of the automaker's 40th anniversary. To celebrate the milestone, the company came out with this limited-edition, road-going Impreza, the hallowed 22B STI, which looked nearly identical to the rally car.
Only 424 22Bs were built, and most of them stayed in Japan. But Dominick Infante, national manager of product communications at Subaru of America, was able to secure a drive in one of the only two 22Bs in the US. He details the car's history and some of the design and engineering cues that made the Impreza STI so popular both in motorsport and on the street, but we were caught up listening to the exhaust and admiring the timeless blue-and-gold paint. You should too, so head below to watch the video.

2015 Subaru Outback

Wed, 22 Oct 2014

Realistically, many enthusiasts give horrible, horrible car buying advice. They will recommend something bizarre, inappropriately high performance, compromised or utterly impractical for a given consumer's needs, and they'll almost never recommend something that makes sense. And then they'll come up with 3.7 million reasons why the leading vehicle someone is thinking about is a bad choice.
Or maybe that's just what I do.
Regardless, if you poke, prod, bother or just get us drunk enough, eventually you'll begin getting honest feedback. And more than likely, we'll tell you, in hushed tones, about the many virtues of very, very boring cars. We'll talk about why the Toyota Camry is actually a pretty decent purchase or we'll explain how spacious and feature laden the Nissan Versa is.

2015 Subaru WRX: Introduction

Tue, 10 Jun 2014

"As far as street-legal rally cars go, there's still nothing better than a WRX." I wrote that line following my first drive of the 2015 Subaru WRX late last year - one of the better motoring experiences I had in 2013. Sure, a particularly involving drive route helped, but I don't want to sell the new Subaru short: it's a seriously good car - easily one of the sharpest, best-driving little turbos available today.
When I drove the even hotter 2015 WRX STI in January, it was a similar love-fest. The STI is infused with all of the WRX's greatness, but it's sharper, meaner, and on good roads (and race tracks), the winged wonder is really outstanding. But because of its higher price tag, less forgiving suspension tuning, and only marginal performance increases, I'm convinced that the STI isn't the best WRX for the money. And much as I love it, I just don't think I'd ever buy the STI over its more sedate sister (though I totally understand why others might).
So when it came time to add a new long-term car to the Autoblog fleet, many votes were cast in favor of the WRX. There was a lot of debate about whether or not to get the standard version, or the mightier STI. But at the end of the day, my argument that the basic WRX is the better daily driver - nee, one of the best all-around, all-weather performers money can buy - carried the day.
