Very rare (100 brought in to U.S.) 1997 Saab 900 SE 2.0 Turbo Convertible in Monte Carlo Yellow. This car is virtually flawless. Everything works perfectly, it runs and looks new. It has brand new Michelin tires, Bilstein HP shocks and struts, new brakes. It has been run on Mobil 1 synthetic oil since new. All fluids just changed, including synthetic transmission oil. Power steering, brake fluid, and coolant flushed. I had a Taliafiarro 6 point subframe brace installed to help stiffen the body and prevent body roll. I also added Flowmaster dual exhaust tips, polished 301 stainless steel with rolled tips. The convertible top is also like new, goes up and down perfectly and without hesitation or noise. Top treated with RaggTop conditioner regularly. Interior is black leather. I intended to keep this car for good, which is why I went completely through it, but circumstances have changed, and I need a big car, likely a Saab 9-5 or Saab Combi. (If you have a big car you might like to trade, send me an e-mail. European cars preferred, but might consider something else if it's big, and well-maintained) It has been cared for meticulously, and it shows. The Saab convertibles in Monte Carlo Yellow are extremely rare, and becoming very collectible. The value on them has been rising steadily. (NADA doesn't take note of color and submodels like Talladega etc., so the NADA value is not an accurate guide for certain models/colors such as this one) The car draws attention and raves everywhere it goes, people just love it! It has the original Saab AM-FM-Weather Band-Cassette-CD player with amplifiers and 6 disc CD changer. I replaced the speakers as it had the original speakers. They sounded OK, but were getting tired, so I replaced all of them. The sound is really good. The spoke type wheels currently on the car are from a late model Saab 9-3, but it will also come with the original 3 point Saab wheels shown in some of the photos. Also included are 3 functional remotes. If you're looking for a well-built car that is an attention-getter, fun to drive, needs absolutely nothing, and will become more valuable over time, this one may be for you. GM recalls 500K Chevy Camaros for ignition-switch defect

General Motors issued a recall for more than a half million Chevrolet Camaros on Friday morning because of an ignition-switch safety hazard that mirrors the one at the center of the company's current crisis.
The problem affects Camaro models from the 2010 to 2014 model years. Approximately 464,712 cars are impacted in the United States, and 511,528 overall in North America. GM will alter the Camaro key to a more standard design, and will notify car owners with a recall notice in the mail.
In an announcement, the company said the ignition switches on the Camaros are fundamentally different parts than the older ignition switches found on defective cars that are responsible for killing at least 13 people and causing 54 crashes.

Mahindra eying stake in Saab owner NEVS?

It's ironic that Saab's current vehicle architecture is called the Phoenix platform, because like the mythological bird, the company keeps returning from the ashes. That's right, the embattled Swedish automaker isn't completely dead yet. Again. Actually, it may be facing yet another buyout, and this time, the buyer may be from India.
Less than a month ago, the situation looked ominous for Saab. National Electric Vehicle Sweden, the carmaker's current owner, temporarily shut down 9-3 production at its Trollhättan factory not long after restarting it in the first place. According to Just Auto, it laid off about 100 consultants allegedly linked to problems making June payroll, as well. At the time, Saab claimed that the measures were temporary, and it was negotiating selling part ownership to another automaker.
Those assertions might have some truth behind them, it seems. Indian newspaper The Economic Times reports that Mahindra & Mahindra and an unnamed Asian automaker are negotiating with NEVS to purchase part of the company. It claims that the Indian automaker sees Saab as an opportunity to add a premium brand to its business.

Victor Muller to pay Sweden back taxes for Saab work

Victor Muller, Saab's CEO from 2010 to 2011, has been ordered by the Swedish court to pay the back taxes he owes the country for his work at Saab, Autoweek and Volkskrant report. When he was the automaker's CEO he received a salary of about 8 million Swedish Krona ($1.25 million), which was recorded as a reward for consultancy work for a company in the US that Muller owns. The move allowed him to evade taxes for awhile, but the court has ordered him to pay taxes on his full salary.
Muller, who is also CEO of Spyker, and two other Saab executives were accused of accounting fraud in May, which took place in 2010 and 2011. According to reports, Muller maintains that he is not subject to taxes in Sweden.
