Winnabow, North Carolina, United States

$900.00 OBO, don't be afraid to offer.

Only needs alternator (belt is off for alternator exchange, as well as the tire for access, but the tire will be put back on) to run n go. Brand New Battery, one run in.

the alternator bolt was rounded out, now drilled and harder than my cheap tap bits. I'm getting another truck; don't have the time for this Sweet Bessy. :* t'was magn?fico.

car goes hour and back 4 days a week for school, works all the time except for few times it doesn't, then always back up n running like a beast / platypus.

Basically The unit needs normal repair and has moderate usage at a 198,892 mile Saab, so electronically should be assumed at this point;

the car has the typical factory low voltage never corrected, radio's works comparable the to 90's; digital display is old/missing elements/voltage and security locked, I don't call tech support much, that's what it takes, Once you get the code from them the 6 disk changer is in the trunk. Saab phone conversation.

The driver seat is wonky. Don't press up , serious time and effort to make it go down. also driver seat is slightly damaged; immediate to the exterior of the car.

Occasional non start, most likely due to the low voltage , or a problem with the centrally located ignition switch in the ignition from time and H2O; Different fixes, profit gaining product obsolescence.

It needs most seals ideally for restoration (leaks oil/trans, the power steering from the reservoir bottom - new line and reservoir would be best; get a reservoir from a junker if you can), so take it apart and put it together w/ maintenance checks and minor parts for perfection in soon to be classic taste.

The gear box regulator mechanism, possibly called a neutral safety switch, but Saab style, on top, under the battery, if new replacement $300-400, said to be repairable with cleaning and greasing, mechanical/electrical component. causes gear slip up 1 out of 20-48 days, stuck wont shit for a sec or until it does. needs to be fixed for proper restoration, or child care purposes.

The roof leaks in moderately heavy rain or with sitting, this can be repaired at a shop though at a low cost to value ratio.

Blown spare on Saab normal rim in the trunk.

New valve cover gasket I installed due to small leak, 3 months ago approximately.

Super sleeper Saab 900 does 174 mph in the standing mile

Sun, 14 Apr 2013

Somewhere behind Hennessey setting a new top speed record at this year's Texas Mile with its camouflage Ford GT, a stock-looking 1996 Saab 900T pulled up to the line to see what it could do. The dealer showroom wheels wouldn't offer any indication that the 2.0-liter four-cylinder under the hood was getting help from a Garrett turbocharger, a tuned ECU and E85 gas to put out 465 horsepower at the front wheels.
Knowing that, it shouldn't be too much of a surprise that at the other end of the mile the sky blue Swedish wonder was doing 174 miles per hour. The four-cylinder class at the Texas Mile has plenty such rockets, too, this Swede coming just behind a Dodge Neon that did 175.8 mph. You can watch the Saab do its thing in the video below.

Spyker to appeal dismissal of Saab lawsuit against GM

Fri, 21 Jun 2013

It seems as if Spyker CEO Victor Muller has made a decision on whether or not to pursue a legal battle between his company and General Motors. Spyker has announced it will appeal a US District Court decision to throw out the company's lawsuit against GM. As you may recall, on June 10 Judge Gershwin Drain ruled tht GM had a right to approve or disapprove Spyker's sale of Saab to Zhejiang Youngman Lotus Automobile. Spyker sued GM for some $3 billion, claiming that the American automaker had forced Saab into bankruptcy by stopping Spyker from transferring intellectual property to its Chinese partner.
Spyker has said only that it plans to appeal the decision. Until now, the company has been silent about the ruling. GM, meanwhile, has said it is pleased with the original outcome. You can read the quick Spyker press release below for more information.

NEVS to build new Saab models in China's Qingdao

Thu, 10 Jan 2013

National Electric Vehicle Sweden has officially signed a deal with Qingdao Qingbo Investment Company that will see the NEVS build EVs in Qingdao, China. The move is the first step on the road toward eventually selling vehicles in China. Reuters reports that the Chinese company has agreed to invest $307.33 million, after which point Qingdao Qingbo will receive 22 percent of the NEVS shares. Currently, there's no word on exactly when the funds and shares will change hands, but the Swedish automaker has previously said it fully intends to launch its first EV by early 2014.
NEVS has also made waves about potentially building a version of the old Saab 9-3 with a traditional internal combustion driveline. Currently, the manufacturer says it plans to ship the vehicles it builds in Sweden to the Qingdao port and distribute them to the rest of China from there. Later down the line, a manufacturing facility in Qingdao will supply the country with Chinese-built Saab models.
