For Sale 1982 Porsche 928s Euro 300 hp.
In 1982 Porsche offered two 300 hp cars (928s and 930 turbo). Both were not imported though the dealer network into the the usa. This is gray market 928s imported legally with all paperwork from the DOT and the EPA included. The engine is stamped m28/12 (300 hp code ). These cars are rare and unusual. Only about 150 made there way into the USA in 1982 and how many are left? The car has the following option codes, 650 sunroof, 474 sport shocks, 409 sport seats, 568 tinted windows and 249 auto transmission.The dash board is in Kms and metric in German. The Porsche has about 109,000 miles or 175,000 km. The tires have good tread but are about 10+ years old. The timing belt is about the same age with about 20,000 miles on it. The car runs and drives good and pulls strong especially after 60mph. It is factory rated at 152 mph. The leather interior is in good condition for a 30 year old car. The leather dash is warped and the drivers seat has a split in it that has been glued. The speedo was just rebuilt, the rear muffler is also pretty new. Most things work on the car. Power mirrors ,windows, heater,wipers. lights all work. The sunroof works with a little help (I pulled the fuse)and I am not sure about the cruise control. The ac is all there but needs a belt and a recharge. I ran over a curb last year and it damaged the oil pan. It leaks oil when running. I will include with the sale of the car a used oil pan. It will need to be fixed or replaced. The car also needs to be painted. The car doesn't have a cat and I don't think ever did. The car is located in Denver but has a Nebraska title. 2013 Porsche 911 Carrera 4S
Fri, 19 Jul 2013I don't care who you are; when a new Porsche 911 rolls up in your driveway, that's a pretty good day. This was my very first experience with Porsche's 991 911, and after having spent time with just about every tune and trim of the last car, I was hotly anticipating comparing and contrasting.
Somehow (I don't remember sending out any cash-filled, unmarked envelopes) I'd scored a week in the 911 Carrera 4S over a long holiday weekend, too. That meant that I'd get to A) log a ton of miles in one of the best cars in the world, B) get to show-off the Porsche to family and friends and C) tempt cops in three states to pull me over. Porsche acquires ANDIAL, will integrate with in-house motorsports
Sat, 16 Feb 2013Porsche has purchased longtime motorsports and tuning house ANDIAL.
The Fountain Valley, California-based tuning house ANDIAL has been around since 1975, when it was formed by the Arnold Wagner, Dieter Inzenhofer and Alwin Springer (the company got its name by combining two letters from each of their names). The three men met while working in a Porsche dealership in Southern California and then left to start a business that would put Porsches in victory lane all over the country.
Porsches prepared by ANDIAL won IMSA GT and Supercar Series championships, the SCCA World Challenge, four Pikes Peak class titles and the 24 Hours of Daytona six times. Alwin Springer left the company in 1997 to run Porsche Motorsport North America until 2004 and remains a consultant with PMNA, Wagner passed away in 2011 and Inzenhofer plans to retire this year. ANDIAL is still a going concern, Inzenhofer presiding over a scaled-down engine parts and restoration business. But Inzenhofer is retiring at month's end, making it a good time for Porsche to step in and take over the company's operations.
Porsche 918 Spyder burns to ground in gas station conflagration
Mon, 29 Sep 2014There's one fewer Porsche 918 Spyder zipping along the roads of Toronto, Canada, today. A fire at a gas station over the weekend claimed one of the hybrid supercars in a massive blaze, and a portion of the inferno was caught on video.
According to our partners to the North at Autoblog Canada, the cause of the fire hasn't been officially confirmed yet, but witnesses reportedly claimed gasoline somehow came into contact with the hot exhaust outlets that exit out of the top of the supercar's engine bay. This was just one of two 918s believed to be in the Toronto area.
Other than a possible broken heart from the owner, the fire reportedly caused no injuries, and only the Porsche and gas pump appeared to sustain serious damage. Warning, the video of the conflagration does contain some explicit language.
