1979 Porsche 928 Base Coupe 2-door 4.5l Rare Manual 5 Speed V-8 on 2040-cars
Charlotte, North Carolina, United States
Today for sale I have a very exciting 1979 Porsche 928! This is the rare 5 speed! The 928 was Porsche's first mass produced V8! Everywhere I go people stop to look at this amazing car! The motor is strong! There are receipts for almost everything that has been done to this car for the last 7 years. The records that I have for things that have been done are: 2006 - freon added, inspection passed 2007-condenser 2008- magma flow, chrome tips, stalks, hangers, steering wheel horn gold button, CV Boot set of 4, bought owners manual, quickpods 6.5 ABS speaker pod with recessed face, silicone oil pan gasket, upper ball joint repair, alignment, Koni performance shocks 2010- water pump, replace timing belt, fill and bleed cooling system, set ignition timing, inspection passed 2011- rebuild manual trans axle, new interstate battery, alignment, axle boot kit 2012- car repainted (used original Porsche black), new front chin spoiler, inspection passed 2013- new electric window motors (driver and passenger) The car has Ricaro bucket racing seats, Koni adjustable shocks in the rear, front chin spoiler, carbon fiber torque bar, after market racing steering wheel (momo?)...this car is set to run! The transmission and clutch are strong! All windows, lights, horn, etc work! CLEAN title in hand! You will not be disappointed in this car! There is a youtube video where you can see it going down the road: http://youtu.be/qh6SE2-OqQ8 The thing I can think of that needs help on the car is the air conditioner. It needs to be hooked back up and probably charged. The only other thing is recently the odometer stopped counting miles. I don't drive the car often so I just noticed this the other day. The car is also listed locally. You are more than welcome to come take a look at the car in person. |

Drive-up bank robbery perpetrated with Cayenne and WRX
Sat, 14 Sep 2013Thieves carried out what appears to be a movie-script-perfect robbery of a bank in Sydney, Australia early on Friday morning, using two stolen high-performance vehicles in the process.
At around 11:15 AM local time, in near mid-day light, reports say that two men in masks smashed into the side of a Westpac bank in a confirmed-stolen black Porsche Cayenne. The perpetrators were armed with sledgehammers according to witness reports, and took only about five minutes to take what they were after inside of the bank.
The rapid getaway was executed in a Subaru WRX, also confirmed as a stolen vehicle, while witnesses snapped camera phone images of the illicit goings on. One Twitter user posted a few of the images to his social media feed; you can take a look at them in our small gallery below. Follow on down for the full video report, from The Sydney Morning Herald.
Porsche 911 RSR in bizarre, terrifying rally crash
Sun, 22 Sep 2013As far as rally crashes go, this one is pretty terrifying. At this month's Hellendoorn Rally, Harry Kleinjan failed to negotiate a turn and drove his Porsche 911 RSR straight into a Jersey barrier, flipping the car into the river.
While it's unclear what caused the accident, German Car Scene notes, "We can see his brakes locking up ahead of the impact, which also ripped both driver's side wheels off, so it may be a case of ill-judged late braking, locking brakes or a jammed throttle." Us? We're betting it might have been bad pace notes. Fortunately for Harry and his co-driver, all indications are that no one was hurt. Check out the videos below to see the spectacular crash for yourself.
Porsche goes karting in its Cayman GTS
Sun, 03 Aug 2014Think Mini is the king of Go-Kart Handling[TM]? Well, you might be mistaken, as Porsche proves here it's fully capable of delivering a driving experience that'd fit in quite nicely on a go-kart track.
Using a new and very red Cayman GTS, the Stuttgart-based manufacturer invades a kart track in northern Italy and sets the mid-engined sports car loose to slip, slide and zip its way around the circuit. As far as videos for Sunday evening go, this one ticks all the boxes.
Take a look.
