A Fabulous 1971 Porche Targa 914
This car is a daily driver, I personally drove this car from Roanoke, Virginia to Baltimore, Maryland.
This car could be driven to its new home.
California car (I still have the plates from the previous owner)
The car is a 1971 and it's not perfect but it is in really nice condition.
Repainted black in 2002
Exterior underside, engine compartment, body, trunk, hood are in good condition.
All rubber seals have been replaced except for the front wing windows.
The new seals are included with car but not installed.
Interior seats and floor mats are in excellent condition.
The dash has a dash pad since there is some cracking.
Tires are in good condition with minimal wear.
The engine was rebuilt by a professional shop in California.
The engine is a 2.2 liter with dual weber carburetors.
The transmission is a 5 speed side shift.
The brakes are in excellent condition.
The carpet kit was installed recently
The overall look of the car is great
Although it does have a dimple below the drivers side sail and few paint scratches.
The windshield a small stone chip on the passengers side
I tried to give a true representation of the cars appearance and mechanics.
I'd rather you'd be happy with car than be disappointed.
The vehicle is advertised locally, so I reserve the right to end the auction early.

There's a Porsche Cayman under here somewhere
Wed, 15 Jan 2014What we have here is the work of Dubai tuner Royal Customs that is controversial even beyond its styling. The Middle East aftermarket house says it spent fourteen months developing a bodykit for the Porsche Cayman, and the results seem to be aimed at those who wish their coupe were a 918 Spyder - the nose, strake-filled and widened rear fender, carbon fiber wing and massive diffuser all cribbing some from Stuttgart's new hybrid supercar.
Even without a buyer, the Alpha One Concept is already controversial. When WorldCarFans posted on the Royal Customs car recently, German tuner Alpha-N Performance wrote in alleging that the Dubai package copies their design from two years ago, which was also called the Alpha One, a design with which it's clear the Dubai Alpha One shares numerous cues. We asked Royal Customs about its relationship to the Alpha One car, we were told, "Yes, there is a lot we can say about the remarkable similarities all of which will be explained by our press release by Mr. Emil from Autogespot. Please wait for the official release and you will have the full exciting story. It's an 'actual success story' and not a 'replication' story."
The response is referring to an "extensive report" on the car coming out of Autogespot. Royal Customs doesn't have the Alpha One Concept on its site yet, so we're still missing quite a few details on it, such as whether the Porsche engine has been given a similarly 918-ish workover. We do know that the company says each car takes 30 days to build and it will only build three of them, which is a number that should satisfy any haters and, even more so, its buyers. You can decide which side of the fence you're on by having a close look at it in the gallery above.
Porsche 911 Cabriolet refresh may hide new engine
Wed, 22 Jan 2014If we learned nothing else from our recent frolic through Porsche's secret museum, it's that the automaker goes to incredible lengths to disguise future products during initial testing. Just as a number of cars in that Stuttgart bunker hid the true identity of developmental mules (like the Audi-V8-powered 911), such could very well be the case with these spy shots showing what, on the surface, appears to be simply a facelifted 991 911 Cabriolet.
Similar to what we saw last month on a 911 coupe, this Cabriolet has obvious styling modifications made to the front and rear fascias suggesting that the 911's still-fresh appearance is already set to get a few tweaks. The big news here is at the rear of the car. The additional vents on the lower edge of the fascia and the mocked-up vent above the engine leads our spy photographer to believe that a new engine could be tucked under the body work - likely a smaller-displacement, turbocharged flat-six focusing more on improving fuel efficiency and reducing exhaust emissions rather than performance.
We last heard rumblings of such a detuned 911 back in August, but could this be our first look at said new model? Have a look for yourself, and let us know what you think - either about this mule specifically or the idea of a "green" 911, in Comments below.
Amelia Island 2013: Porsche 911 swarms the field marking 50 years of rear-engine goodness
Wed, 13 Mar 2013Perhaps one of the most iconic sports cars in the world, it was no surprise that the Porsche 911 showed up in numbers to the 2013 Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance. Although the original 911 launched 50 years ago, the original and current models are instantly recognizable as 911s, and since the 911 has a storied racing background, there were probably just as many racing versions of the coupe as there were street-legal versions.
As the show's 2013 honoree, one of the prime racing examples was a 1970 Porsche 911 S raced by Sam Posey. There were so many cars in attendance, we didn't know where to look, but a 1985 911 Speedster concept and a Porsche-owned, rally-ready 911 Type 953 were definitely among the more impressive standouts. As an added bonus, Jacksonville-based Brumos Porsche had many of its classic racecars on display including a beautiful 959.
