    Your bidding on a 1970 Porsche 914 Conversion: The original motor was removed some time ago and a 1961-1963 Olds. (5 bolt Valve Cover) 215 V8 Aluminum engine (Reported weight of engine only 318 lbs.) was installed. These engines was reportedly used in 1961-63 by Buick/Olds. and later bought out by Land Rover which continued there production till 2002. They became popular due to there Aluminum casing and heads and easily upgraded for performance. They ranged in horsepower from 145 - 200 hp. It is unknown what the actual horsepower of this engine. It has a new Edelbrock 600 cfm 4 bbl Carb. Along with the conversion a new Aluminum Radiator was installed in front of vehicle with a large single fan cooling system. Engine is believed to be mostly stock which runs smooth with plenty of power to push this vehicle with a total weight being around 2700 lbs. The conversion was done before I purchased the car several years ago. I've always ran Mobil-1 oil since I've owned the car.
   The Porsche 914's were built between 1970-76. The car stops good with the original 4-wheel disk brakes. Any questions please ask or if you would like to see a video with the car running please contact me and I will send you one through my cell phone.

   * Hand made steel Flares front/back made by metal fabricator John Kelly out of Washington.
   * 16" Revolution Aluminum 4 lug wheels.
   * Tires - 225/45ZR16's
   * Original 5 speed Transmission which shifts smoothly.
   * Exterior is Red which was originally Yellow in color with Black Interior which is in good shape.
   * Car has a heater core and Yes that means it has a great heater unlike the original ones!
   * Stock Exhaust manifolds replaced recently.
   * New mufflers
   * Instruments added upgraded Tachometer and cooling temp as seen in photos.
   * Battery relocated to rear trunk.
   * Targa top is removable and can still be placed in rear trunk for storage.
   * Car is missing chrome trim around front windshield, wasn't on it, when i purchased the vehicle and I just never replaced it! Doesn't leak
   * From the pictures you can see there are some places in the the rear trunk bottom corners that are showing some signs of initial rust, which will need to be addressed sometime before it gets worse! Bad area for water to rest as most 914 owners know!
   * All lights and horn and wipers work.
   * Currently has lifetime Oregon Vintage plates.
   * Very cheap to insure as antique (over 25 years old)

Note: Mileage will change because vehicle is driven daily!

Additional: I was able to put the car up on a rack and I added some pictures of the undercarriage! I found a number stamped on the block (CFD-PM2 then underneath those numbers 1347044), Which i found translates it is an Olds motor from the above era, and i found these numbers on the front of the head (#S225831) which I believe the S signifies 8.75:1 Comp Ratio heads for a 155 hp motor. I've never had the engine Dyno but with the shortened exhaust system and being more opened up along with a 4 bbl carb, I would assume the engine is putting out 175-200 hp. Also found it had some heavy duty Bilstein Shocks on the rear and the radiator hoses running from the front radiator to the rear underneath the car has been run inside piping which protects them from damage from the roadway! Other than that the underneath as seen in the pictures including the jack positions all look very solid!

If your looking at this item you probably have already looked into the cost of doing a conversion: Which includes first finding a good donor car plus a good engine which can run anywheres between $3,000.00 - $8,000.00, then the cost of the conversion kit (Radiator, Adapter Plate....etc.) no mater if you buy from Renegade Hybrid or Kennedy Engineered Products or whoever, it's expensive, no doubt you will find out you will save thousands if you can find one completed versus piecing it together yourself!

   Thanks for looking, good luck! I've this car listed somewhere else, if car sales off Ebay, owner has the right to stop this auction!

Porsche teams with Delta airlines to woo VIP passengers

Sun, 15 Sep 2013

The next time you're waiting for a flight at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, see if you can spot a Porsche Cayenne or Panamera zipping between aircraft on the busy tarmac. The high-performance German vehicles aren't there practicing for an upcoming autocross; they are tasked with whisking some of the airline's most important customers between flights so they can keep their busy schedules intact.
Launched nearly two years ago, the program has proven popular with the automaker, airline and passengers as all benefit from the unique arrangement. Atlanta-based Porsche is able to showcase its cars to Delta's frequent-flying Medallion members, the airline is recognized for providing unusual perks to its high-value customers and those fortunate enough to be surprised with a quick lift are able to make connections without a stressful run through the terminal. Based on its success, the airline is rolling our similar programs in New York, Los Angeles and Minneapolis this month.
And don't think Porsche is the only automaker working with an airline to entice its frequent flyers. Mercedes-Benz ran a program over the summer that offered purchasing and leasing incentives to MileagePlus Premier members of United Airlines, and the two are currently shuttling top fliers around Houston's George Bush Intercontinental Airport in the automaker's S-Class and GL-Class models.

Porsche goes Platinum with special edition Cayenne

Thu, 05 Dec 2013

The other day, Porsche announced a new special edition of the Cayenne. We didn't pay it much heed because it appeared to be exclusive to Europe (or, at least, markets other than ours), but now Porsche has announced its availability in North America, as well.
It's called the Platinum Edition, and it's available exclusively on the entry-level models with either the 3.6-liter V6 or 3.0-liter turbodiesel V6. You can tell the special edition apart from any other Cayenne by the silver details (accenting the grilles, window trim and rear spoiler) and its two-tone black and beige leather interior. But what makes it a compelling choice is the long list of equipment, which Porsche has identified as the most requested options and fitted them as standard, including the eight-speed Tiptronic S transmission, Power Steering Plus, Park Assist, Convenience Package and Bose audio.
Pricing starts at $63,300 for the Cayenne Platinum Edition, or $66,900 for the Cayenne Diesel Platinum Edition. That represents a premium of approximately $13,000 over a bone-stock model, but actually saves you a few grand if you were going to select all those options anyway. Check out the press release below for all the details.

Listen to the Porsche Macan's exhaust note ahead of its LA debut

Fri, 08 Nov 2013

As if we need further proof that the Porsche Macan won't just be another small CUV, it'll be a small Porsche CUV, the German automaker has released a video of the vehicle's raucous exhaust note. In short, the Macan will sport a far racier soundtrack than most of its competitors.
The raspy sound coming from one of the Macan's two turbocharged V6 engines sounds great (the video isn't clear as to whether we're listening to the base 3.0-liter or the Turbo model's 3.6-liter engine), and it's accompanied by a nice crackle on overrun. It isn't like a 911 or other flat-six model, but it is more or less what we expect a Porsche to sound like. We'll have all the details on the newest member of the Porsche lineup when it debuts later this month at the 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show. Scroll down for an official press release from Porsche, as well as the video of the Macan, and be sure to turn your speakers up.
