1976 Porsche 912e Excellent, Driver Level Survivor Car (911 Chassis 914 Engine) on 2040-cars
Daytona Beach, Florida, United States
1976 Porsche 912E Please Review all 59 Pics in the Picassa Album and the YouTube Video, below. The Pics and Video tell the story of this excellent Survivor Class 912E that is turn key and ready to be enjoyed from your first day of ownership! Seriously, even the Clock and Fuel Gauge Work! Striking Color Combination of Silver over Black The paint shines up nicely and looks great! You can enter this 912E into a local show without hesitation. I estimate this to be the 1st repaint in correct, factory silver and likely some 10-15 years old. Of course, there is the occasional imperfection in the paint but nothing of concern for a driver level car. Engine Starts right up and Accelerates without any Hesitations, Transmission Shifts Properly, Steering is Tight and the 912 Drives and Brakes Properly and Straight Recently serviced by Kennedy Porsche in Daytona Beach. The previous owner drove this 912 from Daytona to Amelia Island for the Concours (1.5 hr drive each way). This 912E was part of the "Cars and Coffee" event Saturday before the Amelia Island Concours, see windshield event sticker. Desirable 5 Speed with Factory A/C (the a/c system appears complete but does not blow cold) and Sunroof! The undercarriage is very solid! See detailed pics in the Picassa Album, below. Nice Clean Trunk Compartment with Jack, Tow Pin, Lug Wrench and Spare Tire (I believe the Spare to be Original). Original Warranty Book and Owner's Manual with Protective Case is Present! The Interior is in great condition! I believe the Seats and Carpet to be Original. The Sport Bucket Seats are a highly desirable option and are incredibly comfortable! The CoCo Mats are an Excellent Upgrade! Glass is all in great condition and the chrome and stainless trim present well! I have driven this 912E for over 100 miles around town without issue. Candidly, I have not even detailed this 912E. It really presents well and, after a professional detail, should look stunning! WE HAVE OTHER CLASSIC MERCEDES AND PORSCHE AVAILABLE! I can assist with shipping worldwide (major European Ports $1,250-$1,500) . I will deliver to Jacksonville, FL Port for $175 or Miami Port for $375. Call Mike with any questions 386.334.0709. This Porsche 356 family keeps it outlaw
Wed, 29 Oct 2014Rod Emory was the founder of Emory Motorsports in Burbank, CA, and the scion to a family tradition of building "outlaw" Porsches that are almost as cool as the cars themselves. The lovingly modified Porsche 356s are lovely artifacts, and their story, along with the story of their builders, is pitch-perfect for the Petrolicious oeuvre of beloved classics.
Tune in for the history lesson, and then stick around for the car candy.
2014 Porsche Cayman S
Tue, 19 Feb 2013A Blue-Blooded Valentine
I need you to understand what it's like to drive this car. I'm not talking about your ability to comprehend the words on this page or process the figures that surround the 2014 Porsche Cayman S, but rather what it feels like to take control of a car conceived, designed, engineered and manufactured to set your prefrontal cortex alight with all the glee a Zippo typically reserves for pine needles marinated in jet fuel. From the instant you put your tail in the driver's seat, the Cayman sets about impregnating your veins with a full and varied spectrum of ludicrous emotion. It's not like taking the family pickup to market, I can tell you that much.
For 2014, the next-generation Cayman features many of the same styling tweaks first displayed on the coupe's drop-top cousin, the Boxster, though a spate of mechanical changes, more power, less weight and better efficiency join the party to further differentiate this model from its predecessor. And while additions like rev-matched downshifts and electronic power steering help push the Cayman into a new era, one fact remains unchanged: This is one of the best driving cars on the market. Period. Bear with me and I'll try to explain exactly why that is.
Hyundai, Porsche top J.D. Power APEAL study
Wed, 23 Jul 2014Just as they did in the Initial Quality Study, Porsche and Hyundai have taken the premium and non-premium crown, respectively, for the 2014 J.D. Power APEAL study. This is the tenth consecutive year for that Porsche has been rated the best premium make in the APEAL study, which attempts to figure out how pleased owners are with their purchases. For 2014, it asked 86,000 owners of MY2014 cars to rate their vehicles in 77 different categories 90 days after their initial purchase. The resulting figures were plugged in deliver the APEAL score, which is rated on a 1,000-point scale.
The industry average sits at 794 points for 2014, although that's a one-percent decline over last year's rating. In this year's study, premium brands averaged 840 out of 1,000, while non-premium makes average 785. For their part, Porsche netted an impressive 882 points, while Hyundai earned an 804. Interestingly, only four non-premium brands (Hyundai, Ram, Volkswagen and Mini) finished above the industry average for 2014.
It's also interesting to see the clear delineation between premium and non-premium brands, with an eight-point gap between the non-premium champ, Hyundai, and the lowest-rated premium brand, Volvo.
