1967 912 Soft  Window Targa Red Vin 550214 Car is located in Bend Oregon

I am very Familiar with Porsche Cars , as I have been collecting them for 25 years, I arely sell one of my own vehicles so I am picky about representing it honestly,  I know the cars and have a good reputation, I am not a casual collector, and I will represent the car accurately. If you are serious and don't plan to lo ball or play a scam. We can set up a phone conversation.

I bought this car many years ago and have stored it inside, with all my other cars I have many other Early P-Cars and haven’t had the time to drive it much so it is time to go to a caring home.

Car was originally Irish green and is painted completely Guards red, you have to search to see the green and I mean really search

A Lot of money was thrown at this car by the previous owner any rust issues  were dealt with, All the welding in floors, pans etc. was not perfectly ground down or painted the correct Wurth colors. Any rust is gone period

that existed are gone, the tub is solid but not a 50K Job It is better than many shops turn out and is not a bondo fix (Nor is it a Porsche Classic Body panel alignment) Seats were replaced with an original set with factory headrests,  Soft window is near new  Car comes with a tonneau for the rear window

Engine was rebuilt  and pulls very strong . I am guessing it might have 20-25 hours on the motor Compression is 130-138 on all cylinders. The previous owner stamped the motor kind of funky so I will not say its original, it  puts out significantly more power than a stock motor and has a new Bursch muffler and headers. It sounds awesome

The car has had a complete service, all fluids etc. have been changed

New Battery and all lights checked etc.

Fuel system drained flushed and Carbs cleaned and rebuilt

Brake lines re -done (brakes are at 85 percent plus)

4  new Konis all the way around, bushing and suspension including

alignment and a quick corner balance

5 Speed 901 shifts well with no wacky noises I little tough going into first at speed but not at rest

It had a bad set of pitted Brazilians so I replaced with knock off 5.5x15 Fuchs

I can put on Steel wheels or 5.5 Fuchs or 6 Inch Fuchs

So new Yokohama sports were fitted. these fuch look a likes really look nice and handle well.

I do not remember about the clock but everything else but the radio is working

All locks are keyed correctly

I would rate this car as a  3+ great 2-3 foot driver, If a Porsche expert wants to find it’s faults well there are always ones that are better. Soft Window Targa’s are rare and I have owned ( and still own other examples ) they are going to appreciate as they will cruise at 80 and handles very well. To me the targa on and back window down on a hot day is blast and more fun than most open cars !!

I have no doubts that passing TUV after changing the tail headlight covers would be a breeze. I live much of the year in Germany and am very familiar So I do not mind an overseas buyer if car is paid for up front and you arrange your own shipping No I WILL NOT FORGE A LOW BILL OF SALE

The guys who did the work are well respected and I have no problem giving you references and put you in contact with them for more info

The 80 or so pics are a good indication of the car flaws and all. At 47 Yrs old it get a huge amount of attention and get thumbs up and questions every time its driven

I am not a dealer but a hobbiest and have way too many cars, I will never have time to drive this much.

With College coming up for my kids I am thinning the herd a bit , If you are looking for a driver quality car that brings a smile to your face this is it, the 912 soft window is like driving a Speedster/356 cab without spending $150K This same car in a 911 would command over $120K

Yes It has taken peoples choice and other awards at shows, but the Guys who did the refresh have worked on Pebble Beach show cars that have sold for over $250K

Car is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the Auction Early

Porsche Boxster/Cayman GTS, Macan, 911 Targa details leaked

Fri, 27 Sep 2013

The folks over at Jalopnik have published some rather interesting images from what looks to be a presentation held inside Porsche's North American headquarters in Atlanta, GA. What these leaked photos reveal is pretty significant - details about several of the brand's upcoming launches, including GTS versions of the Boxster and Cayman, a new 911 Targa, and information about the Macan crossover that will debut at this year's Los Angeles Auto Show. Of course, none of this information has been officially verified, but it all looks and sounds pretty believable to us. So, let's dig in.
First up, Porsche will launch the Boxster and Cayman GTS models at next year's Beijing Motor Show in April. Upgrades for the GTS models will include a 15-horsepower bump, standard manual transmission (with optional dual-clutch PDK), standard Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) and a slightly quicker 0-60 time. Jalopnik reports that these models will cost around $75,000.
We've spied the soon-to-be-revealed Porsche Macan (pictured right) on several occasions, and these slides suggest that the small crossover will have two different types of turbo power under its hood. The Macan S will use a 3.0-liter turbocharged V6, while the Macan Turbo will use a 3.6-liter unit. Seven-speed PDK transmissions are expected to be fitted to both, and this leaked information states that the new, small Porsche will cost $52,000 and $75,000 for the S and Turbo versions, respectively.

Son of Porsche 911 designer recalls 1963 Frankfurt debut

Wed, 16 Oct 2013

The Goodwood Revival is described by its presenters as the greatest motorsport racing party of the year. We often focus heavily on the motorsports, but you can't forget about the party. For the first preview of the new 911 Turbo in the UK, Porsche recreated its booth from the Frankfurt Motor Show in 1963 - the time and place of the original 911's public debut.
Porsche's cameras also caught up with Mark Porsche, the great grandson of Dr. Ferdinand Porsche and son of the late Ferdinand Alexander "Butzi" Porsche, who oversaw the design of the 911. Mark Porsche admires the 911's friendly design, which is set off by the round headlights, and says his mother, who was at the original Frankfurt booth in 1963, was milling around the booth at Goodwood - no doubt taking a trip down memory lane.

Consumer Reports selling its road-tested roadsters [w/video]

Thu, 31 Jan 2013

Here's a chance to acquire a celebrity-owned vehicles, and this time at a discount instead of a premium. So the celebrity in this case is Consumer Reports, that magazine that could be equally adored and abhored by car enthusiasts. CR buys all of its test vehicles and usually finds willing second owners within its own ranks, but its opening its small used-car lot to the public. On the forecourt are four roadsters: an automatic 2012 Audi TT 2.0 TFSI Quattro S-Tronic with 6,600 miles for $36,500, a manual 2012 BMW Z4 sDrive28i with 8,400 miles for $45,000, a manual 2012 Mercedes-Benz SLK250 for $39,500 and a manual 2013 Porsche Boxster with 7,000 miles for $48,000.
Those numbers mean a savings of $9,000 to $10,000 before haggling - each car is listed with an "Asking price" so there could be some wiggle room if you show up with pockets full of dough and eyes full of serious intent. Since the money CR earns from the sales go back into the magazine's budget to buy more test cars, however, it probably won't take any oddball trades, so you can forget about getting any purchasing help from that track-day AMC Javelin project on blocks in the back yard.
The vehicles have been taken care of and spiffed up for sale; buyers will take delivery at the CR test track in East Haddam, Connecticut and get a tour of the facilities. While you're there they'll even take you on a lap around the track so you can feel how your car handles when driven by one of its testers. They will probably not help you with advice on which toaster and dehumidifier to buy - you'll still need to get a subscription for that. Have a look at the video below to see a day in the life of a CR test car.
