2006 Porsche 911 Carrera Gt3 Rs Clone Gt3rs on 2040-cars
Sumner, Washington, United States
For your consideration is a 2006 Porsche 911 Carrera. While this is a GT3RS tribute, it is almost completely indistinguishable from an authentic GT3 RS. Obviously the decals can be removed if you should so desire. The story is that when the car hit 70k miles, the previous owner decided to have fun customizing the car when the original front bumper needed a respray due to road rash... Rather than respray the original front bumper, he changed it to a Club bumper which started the transformation. the result is what you see now. It has never been in an accident and runs and drives great. Had service performed with new brake rotors and pads installed before I bought it at the Infiniti dealership shown in the link below. I need to sell for a more practical vehicle that suits my current needs (SUV). Strong clutch, smooth engagements, cold AC, no leaks… The interior has been upgraded with OEM GT3 RS parts. Such as the rear carpet, shelf and side panels (rear seat and belts delete), factory orange center console with alcantara shifter and boot, embroidered arm rest, cup holders, GT3 alcantara steering wheel and airbag. Also installed are carbon fiber GT2 style seats, Club roll bar, Rennline kick panels and RS sills. Due to having the roll cage installed, the fuse has been removed for the factory sunroof. With cage installed, the sliding function is no longer possible, so to avoid an accidental slide-open, the fuse was removed. Exterior is fitted with GT3 RS rear bumpers and Club front bumper with fixed tow hook. Wheels are rash free and in excellent condition. Rear wheels have a 10mm spacer to bring the wheels out closer to flush, has LED rear lights and license plate lights as well. GT3 RS rear decklid with carbon fiber spoiler and gurney. Engine has an Evolution Motorsports (EVOMS) Cold Air Intake as well as a custom race exhaust as heard in the video below. Also included in sale is OEM rear lights and stock exhausts Left/Right and battery tender. Clean/non-salvaged title. Car is in phenomenal condition and will make the new owner very happy. Tires have 80-90% tread life left. Car is available by appointment for private viewing and inspection. Be advised, I have a bank loan for this vehicle and it will need to be paid-off before title will be released-this will be handled within 48 hrs of receiving full payment. I will personally go to DMV to pick up the title. This will help expedite the registering of the vehicle in your name while you wait for the car to arrive if you are out of state. Immediate non-refundable deposit of $1000 required via paypal upon auction end. Balance is due within 7 days thereafter. I will assist with transportation logistics and anything else that I can to help make this a smooth and effortless transaction. Thank you for you consideration. Car is sold as-is, where-is with no warranty written nor implied.
Here’s a video from the dealership that I bought it from 7 months ago.

Porsche 911 GT3 dukes it out with MP4-12C on track and GT-R on spectacular roads
Thu, 22 Aug 2013The Porsche 911 GT3 has always been a favorite among auto journalists and car enthusiasts alike, but with the introduction of the new 991-generation GT3, which is the first GT3 with electric power steering and no manual gearbox option, how does it stack up to the competition from McLaren and Nissan?
Evo's Jethro Bovingdon attempts to answer that question by pitting the rear-engine Porsche against the mid-engine McLaren MP4-12C on a racetrack and the front-engine, all-wheel-drive Nissan GT-R on some amazing, twisty European back roads. We won't give away the victor of either comparison, but we will say that, in Evo's test, the McLaren's 141-horsepower advantage doesn't give it as much of an edge over the Porsche on a racetrack as one might think, and the lack of a manual gearbox and the inclusion of electric power steering on the GT3 isn't detrimental to enjoying the car on a back road.
Watch the video below to find out which car Bovingdon prefers on road and track - we think you'll be happy to see him drift around turns every chance he gets.
2014 Porsche Panamera arrives with new E-Hybrid, long-wheelbase models
Wed, 03 Apr 2013Porsche will officially unveil the refreshed 2014 Panamera at the Shanghai Motor Show later this month, and there's a whole lot in store for the updated model, far beyond the minimal styling tweaks you see here. Sure, there's a new fascia with more prominent LED lighting (including full LED headlamps) and the rump has been tweaked ever so slightly, but the big news for 2014 concerns what's underneath that rakish skin.
First up, Porsche will now offer a Panamera S E-Hybrid model - a plug-in hybrid that builds on the technology first introduced in the Panamera S Hybrid that we tested in 2011. For this new application, a more powerful electric motor and higher-performance battery have been fitted (official specs have not been released just yet), and Porsche says the battery can be recharged in just two and a half hours when the car is plugged in to a 240-volt outlet, and the charging (as well as other vehicle data) can be monitored via a new Porsche Car Connect app available for Android and iOS devices.
The E-Hybrid will have an all-electric driving range of "greater than 20 miles" and will be able to travel at speeds up to 84 miles per hour solely on electric power.
China bans military license plates on luxury autos
Wed, 01 May 2013Driving a vehicle with a military license plate in China provides many privileges. Legally reserved for official vehicles only, the designation apparently allows drivers to enjoy special liberties on the roads, including breaking traffic laws, filling up with free fuel and receiving light-and-siren escorts through congested cities. So attractive are the benefits that there is a secondary market for used legal and counterfeit plates - especially among those wealthy enough to afford luxury cars. But all of that is reportedly coming to an end, as President Xi Jinping, chairman of the Central Military Commission, is on a mission to fight corruption in his country.
A new license plate system goes into effect today, and it is designed to "maintain social harmony, stability and the reputation of the military," says the PLA Daily, the armed forces' official newspaper. While the abuse has been going on for many years, the internet has put the spotlight on the bad behavior, and the negative press does not represent the morals and true colors of the armed forces, say officials.
While military-plated Porsche drivers have been singled out as offenders, Bloomberg notes that all vehicles with engine displacements above 3.0 liters and with a sticker price in excess of about $73,000, will be banned from receiving military plates. This includes vehicles from Audi, Cadillac, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Jaguar, Land Rover, Lincoln and the Volkswagen Phaeton. Even if drivers are savvy enough to circumvent the new issuing system, the military has put technology at toll gates to catch users of counterfeit plates. There has been no word on the punishment if caught.
