Took the opportunity to replace about all hoses, filters, motor mounts , expansion tank, everything that could while the motor was out. Also inspected everything around to make sure nothing needed to be addressed. AutoTalent was told to spare no expense in making sure everything was fresh and clean as intended. EVOMS Red Boost Hoses, EVOMS Clubsport Intercoolers (3.5”),EVOMS 70mm intake hoses (back of the motor, hard pipes, safest made),EVOMS Diverter Valves,Tial Alpha 28’s Turbos with Tial Water Line kit (modified for side mounting for better clearance),75mm Throttle Body ,75mm IPD/RSS Plenum, EVOMS modified/widened Y-Pipe, 72lb injectors, 5 bar Fuel Pressure Regulator. Tune: EPL Customized by Tony with over 5 iterations (super SAFE for 91 octane, easily 40hp more in tune if wanted. Engine is "Bullet Proof".Estimated ~650 Crank right now (91 octane tune) with high torque and immediate response due to Alpha 28’s. Do your homework on these turbos…they are amazing. Outflow GT30’s on top end and outspool K16’s! Car has been run against many 750-800hp cars and it hangs right in there with the big boys due to power delivery and torque/area under the curve plus spool/NO LAG and the EPL bag of tricks.. There is a good amount of “room” left to upgrade and go bigger power if you desire. Water/Meth, 3” exhaust, no cats and tune and you should be at 750 pretty easily. Porsche Panamera gets new diesel in time for Frankfurt
Tue, 03 Sep 2013Diesel may not be the first thing that comes to mind when you think of Porsche, but in the European market - that vital one which Porsche calls home - diesels are indispensable. Particularly when you're trying to extend beyond niche sports cars and into the mainstream luxury sedan market as Zuffenhausen has with the Panamera. In fact, diesels account for 15 percent of Panamera sales worldwide (even though they're not offered Stateside), so to keep oil-burning customers happy, Porsche has announced a series of upgrades.
Set to be unveiled in the flesh at the fast-approaching Frankfurt Motor Show, the new Panamera Diesel packs 300 horsepower. That's 50 hp (or 20 percent) more than the model it replaces, significantly dropping the 0-62 sprint from 6.8 seconds to 6 flat, and raising top speed from 152 miles per Autobahn-crunching hour to 161. While they were at it, Porsche's engineers also fitted the rear differential with torque vectoring (previously reserved for gasoline-burning models) and retuned the transmission and suspension.
You can delve into the press release below for all the details - including the new model's improved towing capacity! - but the reality, for better or worse, is that the Panamera Diesel isn't offered here. So if you've been celebrating Labor Day (or even Labour Day, for our friends to the north) like we have, don't go looking for it at your local dealer, who will have only a Cayenne Diesel to show you instead.
2014 Porsche Panamera Turbo S is a 911 Turbo for the family man
Thu, 21 Nov 2013In the event that the Porsche Panamera Turbo's 520 horsepower and 189-mile-per-hour top speed aren't enough to sate the appetite of the speed freak, Porsche has just given the auto show debut to the faster, more powerful Panamera Turbo S.
With 570 horsepower being pumped from a 4.8-liter, twin-turbocharged V8, the Panamera Turbo S promises even faster acceleration, hitting 60 mph in 3.6 seconds, a 0.3-second improvement over the standard Turbo. The top speed, meanwhile, climbs to 192 mph, which is kind of ridiculous for a car with four doors and a trunk.
Other enhancements that come with this Panamera's extra syllable include carbon-ceramic brakes and the entirety of Porsche's active chassis systems, including Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control and Porsche Active Suspension Management. The performance goodies come standard, but that doesn't mean the Panamera Turbo S is cheap.
Are you the Porsche Pajun?
Mon, 17 Nov 2014The prospect of Porsche building a smaller version of the Panamera has been an on-again, off-again proposition as the German automaker seems to go back and forth on the project. Last we heard, Porsche had pushed back the so-called Pajun (shorthand for Panamera Junior) until 2019 at the earliest, but we could be looking at it right here.
The automaker's everything-but-automotive division Porsche Design is working on a luxury condo complex called (simply enough) Porsche Design Tower. It's been three years in the making and will take at least another year or two to complete, but the gist of it is that the 57-floor building will include 132 apartments, each with its own en-suite garage in which the residents' cars will be parked thanks to giant elevators.
Porsche Design released a series of renderings showing what the property will look like once complete. Most of the renderings feature Porsches, of course - production models you can find in any of the brand's showrooms, like the one just 23 miles away in Coral Gables. But one of the renderings of the giant glass elevators shows something rather unusual.
