Selling my 1989 911 Carrera Coupe 25th Anniversary Special Edition (only 51xxx miles).

Only 500 of these special edition cars were built including just 60 satin black metallic coupes like this one (the rest silver metallic). These cars include a silk grey leather interior, shortened shifter, and temperature gauge on center console.

1989 is widely regarded by many as the best year for the classic 911. It has the 3.2L engine and G50 transmission both well known for being bulletproof.

Car is 100% original with exception of aftermarket CD player (I will include the original in case you want to put it back in).

Mechanically everything is in excellent condition. The car is a blast to drive and is currently my daily driver.

Interior is in excellent condition.

All electrical (windows, sun roof, etc) works well.

Body is straight as an arrow.

Paint is in awesome shape and has a nice deep gloss. A few very minor rock chips but nothing abnormal.

Fuch wheels are in great shape (with just a couple small rock chips)

Comes with original toolkit and spare tire.

Comes with very thorough service records.

Very small shopping cart dent on left fender—nearly impossible to see unless you’re looking for it.

Extras that I'm including:

Coverking custom car cover ($245 new)

Brand New Custom Car Bra Brand ($154)

Books: Bentley Service Manual, 101 Projects for your Porsche 911 (Dempsey), Porsche 911 Performance Handbook (Anderson) $150

I have owned this car for the last 4 years. It has clearly been babied by the previous owners as well as myself. Am selling because we have our first baby on the way and priorities are shifting…Hate to see the car go, but cant wait for the baby!

Porsche's latest Driver's Selection keeps enthusiasts happy at home

Wed, 25 Sep 2013

Porsche fans - and there are certainly plenty of them out there, even in here on the Autoblog editorial staff - can be pretty emphatic about their enthusiasm, insisting that the 911 is the very definition of the sportscar. And for some, merely admiring one from afar or even leaving theirs parked outside isn't enough. For just such enthusiats, Porsche Design has expanded its Driver's Selection with some tantalizing additions for the home and office.
First up is a desk chair made from the bucket seat in a 911 Carrera, which we have to admit we'd rather be sitting in right now over this blasted, rather unexciting ergonomic office chair. It's covered in black leather (the same you'd find inside an actual 911) embossed with the Porsche emblem and features electronic backrest adjustment.
There's also a wall shelf made from the carbon-fiber rear spoiler a 911 GT3 Cup racecar that can support up to 264 pounds of downforce in the form of books, trinkets and whathaveyou. And there's a limited-edition resin model of the 918 Spyder in 1:8 scale. The items haven't hit the Porsche shop just yet, so we don't have pricing information, but if they tickle your fancy, the online store has plenty more to offer.

Get lost in Evo's sublime 2013 Car of the Year testing

Fri, 08 Nov 2013

Every year Evo stages its Car of the Year test, bringing the best performance cars in the world to one location for an epic shootout. This year the magazine pitted eight CotY finalists against each other on Route Napoleon in Southern France - Evo claims it's the "best road in the world" - and then proceeded to nitpick the smallest of faults on each car until the winner could be named. You see, this year's lineup of machines was just so good that only one car obviously wasn't CotY material from the get-go. Can you guess which one judging from the list below?
- Aston Martin V12 Vantage S
- Audi R8 V10 Plus

Meet the main man behind the 2014 Porsche 911 GT3

Fri, 30 Aug 2013

We have yet to catch our breath from our first drive of the 2014 Porsche 911 GT3, but if you're still not sold on the fact that this track-ready 911 is only offered with a PDK transmission, then you should take it up with Andreas Preuninger. Preuninger is the guy who led the team responsible for the latest GT3. Porsche has released a video giving a little backstory of what went into the development of the car, which had as its goal the creation of a pure, rewarding 911 driving experience.
The video captures the sights and sounds of the GT3 perfectly. Perhaps the best part is listening to Preuninger describe one of the defining moments that resulted in replacing the GT3's manual gearbox with the PDK. We don't want to ruin the video for you, so scroll down to check it out for yourself.
