1979 Porsche 911 Targa Sc 3.0 Low Reserve Very Clean on 2040-cars
Portland, Oregon, United States
1979 Porsche 911 Targa 1979 Porsche 911 SC Targa
We are happy to present this very clean, original Porsche
911 Targa. Many Porsche enthusiasts are
quick to say that the 3.0 powered “SC” Porsche were the best of the line. With a strong and reliable 3.0 air cooled and
fuel injected power-plant mated to the 915 gearbox, these cars are known to go
several hundred thousand miles. This car
is very original with only some spot paint work and all original interior. The prior owner took very good care of this
car as well with keeping all the original books and tool kit. The Targa top is in excellent condition with
no rips or tears. Only aftermarket item
is the stereo. The dash doesn’t have any
cracks, and the stitching on the leather seats is good. All the carpets are in the car and are in
good shape for their age. The car comes
with the original Fuchs wheels and very good tires. This Targa starts right up with no hesitation
and no smoke. Driving this car you can
tell it is a strong runner. The
transmission shift smooth up and down through the gear box with no whines or
grinds. The power windows are a little
slow but do go up and down. This car has no rust issues or damage. This car is a blast to drive, feels tight, brakes
are great and overall it feels very solid. These air-cooled Porsches are doing
nothing but increasing in value. People have noticed that not only are these
great fun to drive, but the cost of ownership is much less than any other “exotic”
of the era. Both Matt and myself
are avid Porsche enthusiasts that own and drive early 911's. We are actively
involved in the Porsche community and enjoy these cars very much. Feel free to
call or email with any and all questions, we are more than happy to talk shop. If you have a Porsche
you would like to locate a new home for, we specialize in marketing these cars.
As you can see from our presentation we do a proper job and have many satisfied
clients. Please remember that
if you bid and win the auction, you will be expected to complete the
transaction. Recently we have had a few cars sell and then not have the
individual follow through. We put a ton of time and effort into the cars and
the presentation, please respect that and follow through should you bid. Inspections are
welcome, but must take place prior to the end of auction. Feel free to call or
email with any questions, 503-475-8078 Josh, or 503-819-9007 Matt. We are happy to help
you arrange shipping anywhere in the world. Good Luck and Happy
Bidding!!! Crazy ducks at the photo location! Both Matt and myself

Porsche rolls out new 919 Hybrid at racing gala
Mon, 16 Dec 2013That Porsche is returning to Le Mans next year with a top-tier LMP1 entry is no news - we've known that for some time. We've even seen pictures of the car in question undergoing testing at various racetracks across Europe, been told who'll be driving it and given some basic parameters of what will make it go. We just haven't known what to call it, but now we do.
In detailing its full endurance racing program for next year at its Night of Champions in Weissach, Porsche has revealed that its new LMP1 racecar will be called the 919 Hybrid. So, something like the 918 Spyder, only one faster. With a four-cylinder engine and a pair of electric motors, the 919 Hybrid will be taking on the top class at Le Mans next year, with a compelling roster of drivers on the docket: along with Mark Webber, Timo Bernhard, Romain Dumas and Neel Jani, Porsche has assigned its works driver Marc Lieb and F1 test driver Brendon Hartley to the effort. But that's not all Porsche has in store.
The factory is also supporting teams that will campaign the 911 RSR in the FIA World Endurance Championship as well as the United SportsCar Championship here in the US, taking Porsche off the pit wall and right in the race seat for next year as part of a comprehensive new racing program, details of which you can read in the press release below.
2014 Porsche Panamera S E-Hybrid
Tue, 09 Jul 2013Porsche's Performance Plug-in Preamble
By the end of this year, Porsche will be producing as many plug-in vehicles (two) as mainstream automakers such as Toyota, Chevrolet and Honda. Before the 2015 918 Spyder hybrid supercar goes on sale in the US, though, it will be warming its customers up to the idea of a plug-in model with the 2014 Panamera S E-Hybrid. A step up from the previous Panamera S Hybrid, the new plug-in Panamera adds a more powerful and advanced electric drive system that pledges to deliver the performance expected of a Porsche with the added benefit of improved fuel economy and reduced emissions.
Going on sale in November, the Panamera S E-Hybrid is aimed at customers also considering the upcoming plug-in version Mercedes-Benz S-Class, but the car's dimensions and performance could make it a competitor for Tesla Model S customers. We headed to Germany at Porsche's invitation to see how well it performs, as well as check out the full range of newly refreshed Panamera models, which now numbers nine offerings - although we're still waiting for a production version of the gorgeous Sport Turismo wagon concept.
Road & Track names its 2013 Performance Car of the Year
Thu, 14 Nov 2013Road & Track recently staged its first annual Performance Car of the Year test, pitting 13 new and updated performance cars against each other on track, then graduating the top six to a road test before picking a winner. Additionally, the magazine staff picked the best automobiles of the year in eight categories.
But first, let's cover the PCotY segment. Here's the list of cars brought to the comparison test: Audi R8 V10 Plus; BMW 435i; BMW M6 Competition Package; Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Z51; Ferrari F12 Berlinetta; Ford Fiesta ST; Jaguar F-Type V8 S; Jaguar XFR-S; Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG S-Model Wagon; Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black Series; Mini John Cooper Works GP; Nissan GT-R Track Edition; and Porsche Cayman S.
To find out the results of the comparison, head over to Road & Track's website or check the press release below, where you'll also find the magazine's top-rated vehicles in eight categories. Want more? Head over to the 2013 PCotY hub. But before you do that, take a stab at guessing the winner of PCotY (we'll give you one hint: it isn't a Porsche).
