Knowledgable Porsche buyers want 911SC’s because the are so simple, robust and inexpensive to maintain. There
aren’t any complex ECU’s, they are light and responsive making them feel like a sports car. I have applied for
a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity to verify the color names and options but what you see is a unbelievably well
maintained car in great colors. It has sport seats, “meat grinders” (crank windows) and a sunroof. The original
interior tells an accurate story on how well the car was cared for, there isn’t a crack in the dash or a tear in
the upholstery or excessive damage to the carpeting. The paint is incredible but i am guessing that it was
re-sprayed in the original color because its too good to be 38 years old. There is no evidence of overspray or
masking lines but I can’t see any signifiant flaws making me think that the past owner paid a lot for the
re-spray. This car drives as good as it looks with perfect steering, brakes and suspension. The engine doesn’t
smoke or leak and starts hot and cold instantly without smoke. There are no oil leaks, the transmission shift
effortlessly and exhaust is solid. It has updated chain tensioners and has well maintained characteristics all
over the place. This car must be seen to believe.
I bought the car because it is beautiful and unique. I am happy to keep it but if i an make a little money on it, I
will sell it. Ultimately, i am happy to keep the car. If you are interested, I can arrange a Pre-Purchase
Inspection or can hold the car for you to come and see and drive. Please feel free to ask me any questions. I can
get the car to a port and work with you to export the car. I have a good relationship with Schumacher Cargo
Logistics so I am happy to get the car shipped overseas. I can also assist in getting the car shipped domestically.
I bought this car from a local man with the intent to keep it but if I can sell and make some money to get an
earlier “long nose” 911, I will sell this car. Please please email me if you have any questions

Noted Porsche collector Magnus Walker learns what a TED Talk is firsthand

Wed, 23 Jul 2014

Porsche collector Magnus Walker has the name and looks of a Viking, but once he starts talking about his life story and what drives him, he's an absolutely fascinating guy. Walker recently gave a Ted Talk at a Tedx conference at UCLA and claimed he didn't really understand the idea behind the speeches. You would never know it, though. Walker is as gifted a speaker as he is a talented restorer of some seriously cool Porsches.
Walker's talk is titled "Go with Your Gut Feeling," and it amounts to his autobiography. He recounts his birth in England, dropping out of school at 15 and moving to the US at 19. Once in Los Angeles, he started selling second-hand clothes and grew it into a fashion business.
Of course, what makes him interesting to us is his passion for Porsches. He fell in love with them when he saw a white 911 as a child at the Earl's Court Motor Show in England, but Walker waited until the '90s to buy his first one. From there he started racing and eventually restoring them. Since the documentary Urban Outlaw about him was released, Magnus has become famous for the love of the brand.

Porsche 918 Spyder could lap the 'Ring even quicker [w/video]

Mon, 16 Sep 2013

Porsche had a lot to crow about at the Frankfurt Motor Show last week. Not only did it debut the new 50 Years edition and Turbo versions of the 911 and the new hybrid and diesel versions of the Panamera, but while unveiling the final production version of the new 918 Spyder, it revealed the record lap it set around the Nürburgring.
The 918 Spyder's 6:57 lap time makes it the fastest street-legal production car ever to lap the Nordschleife and the first to break the seven-minute barrier. But the driver who clocked the time thinks it can go even faster.
That driver was Marc Lieb, who has won the Nürburgring 24-hour race four times, making him something of an expert on the subject. In speaking with Australia's Drive TV, Lieb suggested that they could get even more out of the car, as you can hear for yourself in the video below.

Leno buys classic Porsche 356 Carrera 2, seeks out and finds perfect expert for help

Mon, 19 Aug 2013

The world of collector cars is fairly tight-knit when you get down to individual models. Need proof? Just take a look at this latest video from Jay Leno's Garage. The subject is a gorgeous 1963 Porsche 356 Carrera 2. Jay, being known as quite a collector, got a call from someone looking to sell. While doing his due diligence and looking for a 356 expert to go over the car with him, he came across John Willhoit.
Where the story gets weird is when Leno is asked the license plate number - it turns out that Willhoit, owner of Willhoit Restorations, had restored the exact same car more than 30 years prior. He then sold it to the same person that was looking to give it to Leno. What follows is a truly interesting video on the little quirks of the 356, along with Willhoit's personal history on a car he hadn't seen since 1976.
This is a bit more mechanically detailed than Leno's normal videos, but it's on a very interesting subject. Take a look below for the entire film.
