THIS 4TH GEN TRANS AM WAS ONE OF THE LAST EVER BUILT (1969-2002). IT HAS THE WS.6 PERFORMANCE PACKAGE WHICH INCLUDES UPGRADED SUSPENSION, ENGINE, HORSEPOWER, AND BODY PARTS SUCH AS THE RAM AIR HOOD AND LIFTED SPOILER. THIS ONE HAS TRACTION CONTROL ON A ROCKER SWITCH (INCASE YOU REALLY WANT TO SMOKE THEM DOWN). ENGINE IS A 346 CU. IN. LS1 V8 WHICH PRODUCES 325 BHP FROM THE FACTORY. THIS IS THE SAME MOTOR THAT WAS IN THE CORVETTE C5 IN 2001. COLOR IS PONTIAC METALLIC SILVER. PERSONAL UPGRADES INCLUDE: •WINDOW TINT (EVEN REAR WINDOW, RARELY WILL ANYONE ATEMPT THIS NOW ADAYS) •LED INTERIOR LIGHTS •H.I.D. Hurst Edition Trans Am proves the Screaming Chicken will rise from the ashes
Wed, 31 Oct 2012It seems the Pontiac Trans Am steadfastly refuses to die. Ever since Chevrolet was granted a retrofied Camaro to compete with the Ford Mustang, Pontiac lovers have lamented the loss of this 1970s icon. And, looking at the Hurst Edition from Trans Am Depot, shown here at the 2012 SEMA Show, may explain what all the fuss is about.
It's not going to appeal to everyone's muscle-car tastes, but there's certainly room for a brash-and-bold black-and-gold Special Edition in many a Trans Am lover's garage. After all, if you want the keys to a custom pony car, you'll certainly get noticed in this one. If this scheme isn't your bag,, you can alternatively order your Hurst Edition in white and gold or silver and black. Oh, and don't forget a color-coordinated Screaming Chicken on the hood.
No matter which way you choose to go, your inner Burt Reynolds will appreciate the Eibach suspension kit, forged wheels with Pirelli PZero tires, functional shaker hood, fender air extractors, rear spoiler and, of course, a Hurst shifter inside. The interior is emblazoned with all manner of special touches, including a Hurst dash plate and T/A stitching on the Katzkin two-tone leather seats.
Trans Am Depot teases 2014 GTO
Mon, 24 Jun 2013Here comes the Judge. Court is in session. The verdict is in. How many more tired clichés can we come up with? It hardly seems to matter, because it's happening: Trans Am Depot has announced via the teaser video below that it is launching a 2014 GTO, complete with Carousel Red (bright orange, really) paint and full Judge badging.
The car is based on Trans Am Depot's 6T9 Goat, which, in case you don't get the reverential references, is meant to mimic the look of the 1969 Pontiac GTO. As with the company's other cars -including the 2013 Hurst Edition Trans Am we recently drove - the GTO will be based on the current Chevy Camaro, which means two doors, V8 engines and rear-wheel drive, just like the muscle cars of days past.
As for actual details of what's under the 2014 GTO's hood, we're completely left hanging. We'd expect some sort of power adder (turbo, supercharger or possibly some other form of a highly massaged version of the Camaro's V8), and we certainly know that GM has any number of hi-po crate engines to choose from.
