VERY CLEAN, 155,555 MILES BUT NOT SHOWING IT. THIS IS NOT A RESTORED CAR BUT IS NOT FAR FROM IT. COULD BE USED AS DAILY DRIVER. THIS IS NOT A CAR FOR YOUR 16 YEAR OLD TO DRIVE TO SCHOOL....WAY TO FAST!

CAR WAS LAST OWNED BY A LOCAL CERTIFIED MECHANIC AND WELL MAINTAINED.

PAINT LOOKS TO BE PRETTY MUCH ORIGINAL. CLEAR COAT STILL LOOKS GOOD. I TRIED TO SHOW A COUPLE FLAWS IN PICS. 2 CHIPS IN RIGHT HEADLIGHT. LEFT BOTTOM SPOILER HAS A SCRATCH. REAR BUMPER LOOKS LIKE IT WAS REPAINTED AT SOME POINT AND CLEAR IS "DULLED" LOOKING. HOOD HAS SOME LIGHT AND DARK SPOTS SHOWING ALONG WITH A BUFFER BURN, BUT STILL HAS GOOD CLEAR LOOK. ALL IN ALL THERE IS NOTHING SO WRONG WITH THE PAINT THAT A PERSON WOULD BE EMBARRASSED TO DRIVE AROUND. HOOD AND TRUNK SUPPORTS ARE STRONG AND HOLD BOTH UP PERFECTLY.

INTERIOR IS ALL THERE AND IN VERY GOOD CONDITION. NO RIPS OR TEARS, DASH IS SOLID, CARPET GOOD. T-TOPS ARE LIKE NEW.

CAR RUNS GREAT AND IS VERY FAST WITH THE LS1 CORVETTE/ T.A. MOTOR. CLUTCH AND 6 SPEED SHIFTS OUT SMOOTH. FOR THE AGE THERE ARE VERY FEW BUMPS OR RATTLES WITH THE CAR. AIR BLOWS COOL AND NEEDS A SHOT OF FREON. POWER WINDOWS AND LOCKS ALL FUNCTIONAL. DECENT STEREO WORKING. HERE'S A LIST OF WHAT HAS JUST BEEN REPLACED:

1. NEW WINDSHIELD
2. COMPLETE SERVICE, OIL, ALL FLUIDS
3. NEW TIRES ALL AROUND, REARS ARE WIDER THAN FRONT FOR A REASON.
4. NEW IGNITION WIRES, PLUGS, PLUG WIRES
5. FRONT AND BACK BREAK PADS AND ROTORS (4 WHEEL DISC)
6. ALL OVER CHECK OUT, WIPER BLADES, MISC., ETC.

THIS IS A REAL SOLID CAR AND SOMEWHAT RARE WITH THE 6 SPEED. GOOD COMPRESSION. AGAIN NOT RESTORED BUT BY NO MEANS A TOTAL PROJECT CAR. FINISH IT UP OR JUST GET IN IT AND DRIVE. SOON TO BE A CLASSIC!

1969 Pontiac GTO Judge vs. 2006 GTO, which Goat gets your vote?

Mon, 08 Sep 2014

The Pontiac GTO was perhaps the most iconic muscle car of the '60s and early '70s. With its beefy V8 and color palette screaming for attention, it summarized in a single vehicle everything that made the era so appealing to many young people. Pontiac tried to collect just a few drops of that aura again in the 2000s with a revived GTO, but with decidedly mixed results. The performance was still there with its big V8, but the looks never quite lived up to the powertrain. Now, Generation Gap wants to know which of these Goats is the one to own.
Things are skewed immediately because the 2006 GTO here is a real ringer. It comes from famous tuner Ken Lingenfelter's collection, and it's a one-off example partially fettled by GM Performance boasting a twin-turbocharged LS2 V8 with a claimed 750 horsepower and a wide-body kit. This Goat definitely isn't what you're going to find just browsing for one to buy in the newspaper. Still, dip the throttle just a little, and this GTO pulls like a freight train. It's enough to turn the two hosts into giggling schoolboys behind the wheel.
The '69 GTO Judge here is also out of Lingenfelter's collection, but this one is all stock with a 400-cubic-inch (6.6-liter) V8 and a Ram Air hood for a claimed 366 hp. It might not have the unbelievable power of the turbo '06, but it makes up for it with style to spare.

Wanted: 1967 Pontiac GTO for a special Father's Day

Thu, 07 Jun 2012

Jim Sharp of Elkhorn, Wisconsin needs a red 1967 Pontiac GTO to make his dad's Father's Day, possibly his last one, something extra special.
Back in the '60s, Jim's dad, Ken, drove a cherry red 1967 GTO to California for a job. He met a girl, got married and decided his wife's 1965 Ford Mustang was more fuel efficient than the Goat and the GTO was sold. As the story almost always goes, Ken has had seller's regret ever since.
Jim always meant to find a 1967 GTO and, with his dad's help, restore it. But life got in the way, time slipped by and Ken was recently diagnosed with esophageal cancer and given about three months to live.

NHTSA investigating 550k Pontiac G6 models, 320k Honda Odysseys

Mon, 10 Jun 2013

According to two separate reports in The Detroit News, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is launching investigations into 550,000 Pontiac G6 (pictured above) and 320,000 Honda Odyssey (pictured right) models. The G6 models are all from the 2005 to 2007 model years, while the Odyssey minivans are from the 2003 and 2004 model years. The two NHTSA probes are not related.
In the case of the G6, this is an upgrade to an original investigation that started in February after NHTSA received "hundreds of reports" that the brake lights on these cars may malfunction. According to The Detroit News, the lights may come on when the brake pedal is not depressed, and likewise, the brake lights may not illuminate when the pedal has been pushed. General Motors was able to provide NHTSA with a significant number of warranty claims, including 1,100 reports that could potentially relate to this problem, one of which indicates a vehicle crash.
For Honda, the NHTSA probe concerns airbags that may deploy unexpectedly. The government agency received six complaints from 2003-04 Odyssey owners saying that the front airbags suddenly went off without a crash. The Detroit News reports that three of the six owners sustained injuries from these incidents. Additionally, NHTSA has received 41 complaints from owners saying the vehicle's airbag warning light had illuminated.
