1986 PONTIAC FIREBIRD TRANS AM KITT KARR KNIGHT RIDER
DESCRIPTION: This is a 1986 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am converted into a Knight Rider car. This is not a 100% screen accurate replica. This is a no BS, no reserve auction. I will NOT sell this car for less than the starting bid. Car is listed locally so I reserve the right to end the auction early. Below is a list of some of the money I have invested in this thing. This list is for parts only and does not include all of the labor it took to put this thing together. Straight, solid (as in NO rust!) 1986 Trans Am $1,500 RBLT 383 Roller stroker motor $2,600 RBLT 700r4 w/shift kit $750 RBLT 10 bolt w/Richmond 4.10 gears $650 Turbo cast wheels, bowling ball hubcaps, and tires $800 Paint and body work $2,500 Marks Custom Kits Inc. Knight Rider parts: Scanner w/interface $450 Season 3-4 nose $950 Season 3-4 dash package w/electronics $8,000 Just in those parts alone, the total is $18,200! That doesn't include stuff like the tan 89 GTA interior, the smoked plexiglass taillight cover, or all the small parts needed in putting any car together. The car runs and drives excellent and I wouldn't hesitate to drive it anywhere. There is about 500 miles on the car since its restoration. I do not remember what the original mileage was, but it was under 100K. The pictures of the car in red show the condition of the car still in its original paint.
PAYMENT and SHIPPING: There is a $200 nonrefundable deposit due within 24hrs of the auction's end. Full payment is due within one week of the auction's end (8/11/14). Car must be picked up by 8/25/14. If you cannot meet these requirements, you must make arrangements with me prior to the auction's end. All shipping arrangements and fees are the responsibility of the buyer. |

GM recalling over 40,000 Chevy, Pontiac and Saturn models over fuel pump woes
Mon, 01 Oct 2012The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has issued a recall for a number of General Motors cars and crossovers bought or currently registered in the hot-climate states of Arkansas, Arizona, California, Nevada, Oklahoma and Texas. As many as 40,859 units consisting of the 2007 Chevrolet Equinox, Pontiac Torrent and Saturn Ion and the 2007-2009 Chevrolet Cobalt (shown) and its Pontiac G5 twin are being recalled for potential fuel leaks.
This recall is being issued due to potentially faulty fuel pump components that can crack and cause gasoline to leak from the return or supply ports and possibly cause a fire. NHTSA has not indicated how many fuel leaks or vehicle fires have been reported. As a fix, GM will replace the fuel pump modules on all affected vehicles free of charge. Since Pontiac and Saturn have been shuttered, owners will be able to go to another GM-brand dealership to have their vehicles repaired.
While the list of affected cars and crossovers varies by state and model year, if you own any of these models and live in Arizona, California, Florida, Nevada, Oklahoma or Texas, be sure to check the official notice below for more details.
Pontiac Firebird in latest Generation Gap scrap
Tue, 30 Sep 2014Generation Gap is mining the Lingenfelter collection again this week to compare two very different interpretations of the Pontiac Firebird. An original 1968 example goes toe-to-toe with a 2010 Lingenfelter Trans Am to see whether the old man or the modern re-imagining takes the crown.
Being from the Lingenfelter collection, both cars are absolutely immaculate. The '68 packs a Pontiac 350-cubic-inch (5.7-liter) V8 with a claimed 320 horsepower and some classic, muscular style with a hood-mounted tach. Plus, it's painted in an understated shade of green that you don't usually see.
In the other corner is Lingenfelter's pumped-up take on the classic shape based on the modern Camaro, and this is just one of six concept versions ever made. It wears an eye-catching, vintage-inspired livery of blue with a white stripe package. Under its shaker hood is a 455-cubic-inch (7.5-liter) V8 with a reported 655 hp and 610 pound-feet of torque.
GM expands ignition switch recall to over 1.3 million cars amid climbing death toll
Tue, 25 Feb 2014
588,000 Saturn Sky, Saturn Ion, Pontiac Solstice and Chevy HHR models join the 778,000 cars already being recalled.
General Motors has announced a massive expansion of a 778,000-unit recall we told you about two weeks ago, doubling not only the total number of cars affected but expanding the recall beyond Chevrolet Cobalt and Pontiac G5 models previously mentioned. The recall originally centered around ignition switches that could slip out of the "run" position if jostled or if any weight was applied to the key in the cylinder.
