1999 Firebird Trans Am Ws6 2400 Miles! 6 Speed, Loaded, Mint! on 2040-cars

Year:1999 Mileage:2400 Color: and interior are flawless

For Sale is my 1999 Pontiac Trans Am.  I purchased this car from the original owner, who averaged 145 miles per year on the vehicle.  I have put about 200 miles on the car. The car has just under 2400 miles and may increase slightly as I like to take the car for a drive on the weekend.   The original owner actually leased the car for two years because he couldn’t get one otherwise.  He then purchased the car from the lease after two years.  The car was garaged (climate controlled), lifted, covered and started frequently.  It was inspected every year.  Not only is the car low miles, but I don’t think you could find one that has had better care.  The gentlemen felt the car would be an investment and treated it as such.  The car will fit nicely into anyone’s collection.

I know that there are collector models in this year but I feel this is the best TA offered.  It is in the best color combo, Black with Gray leather interior.  It is a 6-speed car, WS6, T-Top, Leather interior car.  The car gets lots of attention proving this was an amazing design that Pontiac put out.

The TA runs perfect and has no mechanical deficiencies at all.  The exhaust is stock but sounds great, it has a nice tone.

The Exterior and interior are flawless.  This car looks, smells and performs exactly like it did when it left the dealer 15 years ago.  All parts are original to the car, the tires are perfect and show no signs of needing replacement. The rims don’t have a single flaw or scrape.  I don’t even think there is a rock chip in the car but I may have overlooked one.

Window sicker, owners manual, driver kit, and factory warranty information come with the car.

If you want to purchase a nice TA, there are lots on eBay with low miles. However, there are few that are “like new.”  This car would be at home in any collection of perfect, original cars.

Many will ask my reason for selling the car so I will address it here.  It has been a dream of mine to own a black WS6 car.  I found this one and intended to drive it occasionally.  I have since realized that I should find one that has 30-50k miles vs. this perfectly preserved car.  I usually put 10-15k miles a year on a car and would feel very guilty doing that to this car.  This car needs to be driven occasionally and hopefully in another 20 years can still register low miles on the odometer.  That being said, I would possibly be open to a partial trade of another WS6 with low original miles, just not this low.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions through eBay.  I can also provide my number though the site if you want to call me about it.  However, let me resolve some of the questions with this statement.  If you could walk into you local Pontiac dealer right now and purchase a new 1999 Trans Am, there would be almost no difference then the car you are getting from me, other than the 2400 miles of usage.

Good luck bidding!

Howard Stern latest in Seinfeld's passenger seat for CiCGC

Thu, 06 Feb 2014

We'll be honest: the actual cars in Jerry Seinfeld's hit internet series, Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee, typically take a back seat to the celebrities in the front row. Seinfeld usually throws in a few lines about his classic wheels in the first minute or so, and then moves on to the important business of sprightly conversation and pithy one-liners. It's great.
This time around, with legendary motormouth Howard Stern riding shotgun, the 1969 Pontiac GTO Judge that might have been a co-star, gets forgotten about almost completely. Instead, Stern spends a tremendous amount of screen time extolling the virtues of his therapy sessions, attempts to dive into Seinfeld's prowess as a lover and generally makes a nuisance of himself. Pretty much to plan, then.
Scroll below to hear Howard accuse Jerry of acting like Jesus, just before declaring himself the greatest radio personality in the history of the business.

'67 Chevy Corvair convertible vs. '86 Pontiac Fiero in cult classic showdown

Fri, 22 Aug 2014

Every few a decades, the folks running General Motors lose their minds briefly try to market a car that public doesn't see coming and often aren't ready for. In the '60s there was the rear-engine, air-cooled Chevrolet Corvair, then the mid-engine Pontiac Fiero in the '80s and the completely bizarre Chevy SSR in the 2000s. What all of these had in common was that they bucked the trend for American models of their era, for better or worse. The latest episode of Generation Gap tasked the hosts with finding two cult classic vehicles to choose between; they came come up with two of these quirky products from The General.
On the classic side, there's a 1967 Chevy Corvair Monza convertible. Being from later in the production run, it wears slightly more aerodynamic styling than the earlier, boxier examples. Hanging out back is an air-cooled, 2.7-liter flat-six pumping out a robust 95 horsepower. In the other corner is the somewhat more modern 1986 Pontiac Fiero SE with a mid-mounted, 2.5-liter "Iron Duke" four-cylinder, an engine nearly ubiquitous in GM cars of the '80s.
Judging by when they were new, the Corvair was far more successful than the Fiero with over 1.8 million sold. Of course, Ralph Nader's book Unsafe at Any Speed kind of poisoned the well, even if the poor safety reputation wasn't entirely deserved. The Fiero on the other hand only lasted for a few model years before shuffling off, but it eventually got its own performance boost with the V6 version and rather attractive GT models. Check them both out in the video and tell us in Comments which you want in your garage.

NHTSA could add 1M cars to GM recall

Wed, 13 Mar 2013

The Detroit Free Press is reporting that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration may expand a recall campaign for faulty brake lamps. The agency is currently looking into complaints that certain 2004-2011 Chevrolet Malibu models as well as some 2007-2009 Saturn Aura sedans may have brake lights that do not illuminate when the driver presses the pedal. Alternatively, the lamps may also illuminate without input from the driver. General Motors recalled 8,000 Pontiac G6 models from the 2005 model year for the same problem, and NHTSA is currently investigating whether to add 550,000 more G6 models built between 2005 and 2009 to the list for the same issue.
In addition, investigators are currently examining 97 complaints from Malibu and Aura owners with the same trouble. If NHTSA adds those models to the recall campaign, more than one million units could be covered. GM, meanwhile, says there have been no accidents or injuries as a result of the problem.
