The Details;

This 1996 Trans Am convertible is finished in Silver Metallic clear coat paint which is believed to be all original factory paint. It has an arrow straight gorgeous body and the paint although dusty and dirty as you can see from sitting in the garage the past year when washed and waxed it has a beautiful shine. There are no door dings and the factory paint is still in very nice condition. Factory TA Alloy wheels are all clean. The black leather interior although dusty looks excellent thru-out and has all luxury power pkg. options including dual power seats. The original floor mats are still sealed in the factory plastic. Only one small rip in the drivers seat bolster otherwise the interior will clean up like new. It has almost every power option one could imagine and it is beautifully appointed thru-out the interior. All the trim, emblems, glass, are in excellent shape as well. The engine compartment is very nice with the smooth powerful fuel-injected 5.7L V-8. The black convertible soft-top is in excellent still has the factory chalk mark in the rear glass window like with it looks like it was never used. A side note this TA spent most of its life garaged in warm dry Texas climate. Always been garage kept and sunny day fair weather driven only since new.

The Mechanics;  currently mechanical condition is unknown as the battery is dead it has been sitting for the past year in the garage. However it ran strong when it was parked has only 67.088 actual original low miles will probably need minimal effort its fluids changed, perhaps a tune-up and certainly a fresh battery, one tire needs air, etc. Prior this TA was always properly serviced and pampered. Built with quality it has excellent 5.7L V-8 power and was considered one the finest handling, braking, high performance, sports cars of its day.

Tony Stewart to star in Smoke Is The Bandit web series

Mon, 10 Mar 2014

NASCAR driver Tony Stewart is making good use of his nickname Smoke in new videos inspired by the 1970s classic Smokey and the Bandit. The original is one of the quintessential automotive movies of its era with a fantastic combination of slapstick comedy and great car stunts in a Pontiac Firebird Trans Am. If you've never seen it, check it out immediately.
In the new six-part Smoke IS the Bandit web series, Stewart takes on the role of Burt Reynolds' famous character complete with huge mustache. But instead of trying to smuggle cases of Coors beer it's Mobil 1 oil. The series promises to recreate many of the famous scenes from the movie and includes cameos from other NASCAR drivers.
To complete the look, future videos just need a quality replacement for a young Sally Field to ride shotgun. It would also be really cool if Reynolds could make a brief appearance at some point. Scroll down to check out the trailer and the first episode in the series.

Wanted: 1967 Pontiac GTO for a special Father's Day

Thu, 07 Jun 2012

Jim Sharp of Elkhorn, Wisconsin needs a red 1967 Pontiac GTO to make his dad's Father's Day, possibly his last one, something extra special.
Back in the '60s, Jim's dad, Ken, drove a cherry red 1967 GTO to California for a job. He met a girl, got married and decided his wife's 1965 Ford Mustang was more fuel efficient than the Goat and the GTO was sold. As the story almost always goes, Ken has had seller's regret ever since.
Jim always meant to find a 1967 GTO and, with his dad's help, restore it. But life got in the way, time slipped by and Ken was recently diagnosed with esophageal cancer and given about three months to live.

Trans Am Depot teases 2014 GTO

Mon, 24 Jun 2013

Here comes the Judge. Court is in session. The verdict is in. How many more tired clichés can we come up with? It hardly seems to matter, because it's happening: Trans Am Depot has announced via the teaser video below that it is launching a 2014 GTO, complete with Carousel Red (bright orange, really) paint and full Judge badging.
The car is based on Trans Am Depot's 6T9 Goat, which, in case you don't get the reverential references, is meant to mimic the look of the 1969 Pontiac GTO. As with the company's other cars -including the 2013 Hurst Edition Trans Am we recently drove - the GTO will be based on the current Chevy Camaro, which means two doors, V8 engines and rear-wheel drive, just like the muscle cars of days past.
As for actual details of what's under the 2014 GTO's hood, we're completely left hanging. We'd expect some sort of power adder (turbo, supercharger or possibly some other form of a highly massaged version of the Camaro's V8), and we certainly know that GM has any number of hi-po crate engines to choose from.
