1972 Pontiac Lemans/gto Clone Tribute/455 4 Speed on 2040-cars
Chester, Maryland, United States
Here is a 72 gto /lemans clone tribute car. I purchased several weeks ago and had shipped to my home in Maryland. This would be my first classic but has way too much power for what I was looking for. In addition, I want to pass down to my nephew and need something with a little less "giddy up." The following information is off the description from when I purchased. My contact info is below in the description. It has rebuilt 72 pontiac 455 HO. 60 over Keith Black Pistons, Cam with Roller Rockers, Performer Intake Manifold. Holly 750 Double Pumper Carb. Cam is real lumpy sounds great motor has only 500 miles since rebuild. 55-60 psi oil pressure at idle. Has new aluunium radiator and all new steel braided hoses. New water pump, new Muncie M-21 close ratio transmission out of crate with new clutch. 12 bolt rear differencial with 390 gears, adj traction bars. The redone interior looks awsome solid floors rockers.. Car has 3 inch exhaust new with flowmasters and headers, new rear bumper, weld drag lite rims, big tires on rear they dont rub the stance is real nice. Car runs excellent needs no engine or trans or rear end work. Drive train is strong. The interior all done. Gas, oil psi, temp gauges all work hood tach working. New wood steering wheel. Paint is driver quality not show paint but has a killer shine. My plans were to repaint it this winter but it really doesn't need it in my opion. All body lines are still sharp as you can see in the pics. This is not a Barret Jackson car but is a very presentable car. The front bumper needs a little tinkering to get it lined up right. It was like that when i bought the car. Emergency brake does not work never checked it out again that was not working when i bought the car. I believe it's the cables going to the rear breaks. This car looks like a gto from front to rear has everything a goat has and much more. The car has alot more money in it then what i'm try to sell it for. People see this car and stare with there mouth open looks real hot best sounding big block ever heard. Need to find her a new home. NOW PEOPLE WITH ZERO FEEDBACK CALL PRIOR TO BIDDING DONT RUIN IT FOR OTHERS. I HAVE 100% FEEDBACK AND WOULD LIKE TO KEEP IT THAT WAY. ASK ALL QUESTIONS BEFORE BIDDING. This Auto Aerobics car art ties our brains in knots like pretzels
Sat, 14 Dec 2013We like cars, and we like art. Naturally, Chris Labrooy's Auto Aerobics series - computer-generated images of some seriously contorted 1968 Pontiac Bonnevilles floating in mid-air - instantly clicked with us. If the Pontiacs weren't floating or hollow, we could be fooled into believing the image is real. But where's the fun in that?
Check out the gallery we included of Labrooy's Bonneville art, and feel free too head over to his website for some Formula One humor.
CNN chronicles young girl building Pontiac Fiero
Fri, 26 Oct 2012At fourteen years of age, Kathryn DiMaria has already done what many self-proclaimed gearheads won't even attempt in their lifetimes. The Dearborn, Michigan teen is rebuilding a car from the ground up.
The intrepid youngster asked her parents when she was just twelve to start a Pontiac Fiero project, even offering to pony up all the funds herself. Father, Jerry DiMaria only expected the project to last a few months, but two years later, Kathryn is still at it. In this CNN video, the two are at Maker Faire (a DIY festival) rebuilding a 3.4-liter V6 engine out of a Chevrolet Camaro to replace the 2.8-liter mill found in the Fiero.
The whole family hast pitched in, with Kathryn's mother teaching her how to sew in order to complete the interior, father Jerry providing much of the technical know-how, and even her sister is chronicling Kathryn's progress through photos. Jerry even started a thread in a Fiero forum which has been live for two years and is now 22 pages long. Of the project, one forum member wrote, "welcome to the madness."
2008-2009 Pontiac G8 recalled over airbag concern
Mon, 07 Nov 2011General Motors is recalling around 38,000 Pontiac G8 sedans from its 2008 and 2009 model years. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports that the cars may have a passenger-side airbag flaw that might prevent proper deployment in certain scenarios.
According to NHTSA, the airbag might not adequately protect a fifth percentile woman - that is, a woman around four-foot, 11-inches weighing 108 pounds. The New York Times indicates that the anomaly was found during a crash test conducted by GM's Australian branch, Holden, which was testing the G8's twin (read: Commodore) for head injuries. According to that report, the test in question is specifically tailored to simulate injuries to females, so the results do not apply to men or children.
The issue has been blamed on a seat position sensor that governs airbag deployment rates. NHTSA indicates that when the front passenger seat is moved all the way forward, the faulty sensor may inappropriately trigger a 30-millisecond delay between airbag stages, potentially leading to greater injuries.
