1995 Pontiac Firebird Formula 85,730 Miles on 2040-cars
Longwood, Florida, United States
1995 Firebird Formula Coupe. Here is another fine example of Detroit muscle. This Firebird Formula has been well taken care of and it shows. It's a Florida car and only has 85K documented miles on the clock. The LT-1 engine, according to the older gentleman that owned it before me, was replaced with a crate GM LT-1 engine 2000 miles ago and runs perfect. This car comes fully equipped from the factory and everything works. It has a smooth shifting automatic transmission and a dealer installed power sliding sunroof. The A/C has just been professionally re-worked with new compressor, dryer etc. It has new shocks, a new battery, new tires and new outer tie rod ends with alignment. The previous owner installed a very nice aftermarket stereo unit. It even has a cold air induction system. The cloth interior is clean and free of rips and tears. The car has never been smoked in. This is a really nice car and I hate to sell it. It is power-full, fast, remarkably fuel efficient and ready for the road. The only flaws are some crazing in the paint on top of the front fenders caused by the Florida sun and one headlight makes a noise when closing. The vehicle is located in Orlando Florida. Buyer arranges for pickup. This is a used vehicle and is not perfect, It's sold AS-IS, with no warranty of any kind. I tried to describe everything to the best of my knowledge. Any questions, feel free to ask and thanks for looking. Call, text or email for more info. 407-310-3278 |

Lutz says Washington killed Pontiac, next G6 was to be ATS derivative
Tue, 29 Oct 2013How many people think Buick or GMC should have gotten the axe instead of Pontiac? You can't see it, but I'm raising my hand. Autoweek reports that former Vice Chairman of GM, Bob Lutz, has indicated that things didn't have to end up the way they did.
"The Feds said, 'Yeah, how much money have you made on Pontiac in the last 10 years?' and the answer was, 'Nothing.'"
In a talk given at the Petersen Automotive Museum for the Inside the MotoMan Studio series, Lutz says "The Feds said, 'Yeah, how much money have you made on Pontiac in the last 10 years?' and the answer was, 'Nothing.' So, it goes. And when the guy who is handing you the check for $53 billion says, 'I don't want Pontiac, drop Pontiac or you don't get the money,' it doesn't take you very long to make up your mind." Lutz even added that the next-generation Pontiac G6 would have benefitted from the rear-wheel-drive platform of the Cadillac ATS. How awesome would that have been?
GM recalling 426,000 sedans over faulty transmission shift cable
Fri, 21 Sep 2012General Motors is recalling some 426,240 sedans that may have a faulty transmission shift cable, according to a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration report this morning. The recall concerns a fault within four-speed automatic transmissions equipped on 2007-2010 Saturn Aura models, and 2008-2010 Chevrolet Malibu and Pontiac G6 models.
The report specifies that tabs on the transmission shift cable may fracture and separate. Such a fault could cause a discrepancy between the actual position of the transmission and the apparent position of the shift lever.
GM is currently working to notify owners of the vehicles in question, and dealers will check and replace shift cables free of charge. Scroll down to read the complete NHTSA report.
1969 Pontiac GTO Judge vs. 2006 GTO, which Goat gets your vote?
Mon, 08 Sep 2014The Pontiac GTO was perhaps the most iconic muscle car of the '60s and early '70s. With its beefy V8 and color palette screaming for attention, it summarized in a single vehicle everything that made the era so appealing to many young people. Pontiac tried to collect just a few drops of that aura again in the 2000s with a revived GTO, but with decidedly mixed results. The performance was still there with its big V8, but the looks never quite lived up to the powertrain. Now, Generation Gap wants to know which of these Goats is the one to own.
Things are skewed immediately because the 2006 GTO here is a real ringer. It comes from famous tuner Ken Lingenfelter's collection, and it's a one-off example partially fettled by GM Performance boasting a twin-turbocharged LS2 V8 with a claimed 750 horsepower and a wide-body kit. This Goat definitely isn't what you're going to find just browsing for one to buy in the newspaper. Still, dip the throttle just a little, and this GTO pulls like a freight train. It's enough to turn the two hosts into giggling schoolboys behind the wheel.
The '69 GTO Judge here is also out of Lingenfelter's collection, but this one is all stock with a 400-cubic-inch (6.6-liter) V8 and a Ram Air hood for a claimed 366 hp. It might not have the unbelievable power of the turbo '06, but it makes up for it with style to spare.
