1997 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am Coupe 2-door 5.7l on 2040-cars

Year:1997 Mileage:149100

I have a very nice 97 Trans Am with the Lt1 5.7 and 149,000 miles.  It has T-tops, leather interior, Cd player, working air conditioning, brand new Kuhmo tires, headers, stainless exhaust, custom black paint around the t-tops, blacked out tail lights, pillers and rear spolier, new hatch struts, new passenger headlight motor with an aluminum gear upgrade, and new inner and outer tie rods with a new alignment.  The car has a minor dent from someone rubbing it on the back rear fender above the marker light and its not perfect.  It is an everyday driver so it does have its dings and scratches.  The car has a very slow oil leak somewhere (not even 1/4 quart in 2000 miles) but runs awesome.  The car has plenty of power. The brakes have drilled and slotted rotors and work perfectly.  The car is missing its front foglights and is missing the plastic where the ashtray goes.  Someone worked on the shifter linkage and never replaced it. Someone deleted the catalytic converters also but its a nice car.

The drivers window is slightly off track but goes up and down with no issues.  The front speakers do not work and the t-tops leak very little during a down pour.  The car just needs little things but is rust free and solid. Someone deleted the catalytic converters also but its a nice car.

How to turn a Pontiac Fiero into a trackday car

Fri, 17 Oct 2014

Imagine hitting the track in a mid-engine, rear-wheel drive sports coupe that's affordable and has pretty good parts availability. It might sound like a pipe dream, but it's actually quite possible, if you're willing to think a little outside the box. The Pontiac Fiero is out there just waiting for a little work to turn it into a competent racing machine.
Think about it for a second. Of course, we would all like to be snaking through the curves in something exotic, but what happens when you crash or something breaks? The bills are going to mount up quickly. However, if you ball up a Fiero at the track, as long as you're not hurt, then it's not a huge tragedy.
That's basically the story of Steven Snyder in a new video from Drive starring Matt Farah. Snyder wanted to go to the track cheaply and ended up with an awesome little Fiero with a huge wing and a claimed 220 horsepower at the wheels thanks to a V6 from a Chevrolet Lumina. Check out the video to see how this pint-size Pontiac performs.

GM recalling 426,000 sedans over faulty transmission shift cable

Fri, 21 Sep 2012

General Motors is recalling some 426,240 sedans that may have a faulty transmission shift cable, according to a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration report this morning. The recall concerns a fault within four-speed automatic transmissions equipped on 2007-2010 Saturn Aura models, and 2008-2010 Chevrolet Malibu and Pontiac G6 models.
The report specifies that tabs on the transmission shift cable may fracture and separate. Such a fault could cause a discrepancy between the actual position of the transmission and the apparent position of the shift lever.
GM is currently working to notify owners of the vehicles in question, and dealers will check and replace shift cables free of charge. Scroll down to read the complete NHTSA report.

Check out the official 2013 Trans Am Hurst Edition commercial

Sat, 16 Mar 2013

The Poncho is dead. Long live the Poncho. Like certain other reoccurring personal maladies, the aftermarket community simply can't let the Trans Am go without another flare up. The guys at Trans Am Depot have worked up a quick commercial for their newest creation: The 2013 Trans Am Hurst Edition, and it watches pretty much like you'd expect it to. The footage is comprised of just about every TA male fantasy you can conceive of, from Daisy Dukes and white tank tops to tramp stamps, bikinis and ice cream cones. There simply aren't words for what you'll see below.
Of course, we like our T-Tops as much as the next guy. If you like what you see in the videos, you can pick up your very own TA by heading over to the Trans Am Depot site. The guys even have Chevrolet Camaro-based versions of the Pontiac GTO if the '77 TA treatment is too much for your tastes. Enjoy, but don't say we didn't warn you.
