1969 Roadrunner Hardtop 383 4 Speed Project on 2040-cars

This is an awesome little Roadrunner that was a running and driving car about 3-4 years ago. The engine was taken out for an overhaul and the car started to be stripped for body work and new paint. It does not have its original engine, which is now another 383, from a 68 Fury. The 383 is freshly rebuilt with 9:1 compression, new Edelbrock RPM heads, new Edelbrock intake, Comp cam (48/473 lift, have cam card), MSD distributor, MSD ignition. It also has good Hedman headers with full dual exhaust and Flowmaster mufflers. I am not sure if it is original, but it has an 18 spline Hemi 4 speed with shifter, linkages, flywheel, clutch and Lakewood bellhousing. The car does not have its fender tag, so I do not know the other options, but it does have a 26 inch radiator, bench seat, and remote mirror. The car was originally bronze with a black interior. The photos show only 2 magnum 500 wheels, but I have the other two in the garage. The car is very solid, with only some rust in the middle of the trunk and at the bottom of the quarters (will need trunk pan and lower quarters to be done right). The hood also has some light rust on the front lip, but should not be a problem to use. The rest of the car will need finished stripping to metal on the outside, but most of it is already done. The interior is fair. The rear seat is nice, the front bench seat will need a lower cover. Headliner is decent with no tears. The dash is nice and so are the door panels. The carpet will need replaced. Overall, it is a very solid southern muscle car waiting to be put back together and enjoyed. Also, I have a clear Arkansas title. US Marshal's classic muscle car auction officially in the books
Thu, 25 Sep 2014The US Marshal's so-called Blood Muscle Auction was completed earlier this month, with the prestigious nine-car field (two cars were added following Autoblog's initial story, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 and a rare, mid-restoration 1971 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda) finding new and hopefully law-abiding owners.
While we'd normally recap the stars of the show, in this particular auction, every car's sale was newsworthy. The full list of sale prices doesn't seem to be published, but according to The New York Times, the auction brought in a total of $2.5 million, or an average of about $277,000 per car.
The king of the contest seems to be a 1970 Plymouth Superbird (above, right), complete with a 426-cubic-inch Hemi V8, which brought home $575,000. The trio of Yenko Chevys, meanwhile, all easily cleared the six-figure mark, with the Yenko Camaro (above, far right) clearing $315,000, the Chevelle crossing the block for $237,500 and the supremely rare - one of just 37 - Yenko Nova (shown above, left) selling for an even $400,000.
'Blood Muscle' auction to sell impressive collection of ill-begotten classic cars

But being a criminal can involve more than just taking a trip to the big house; it can also mean losing possessions purchased from any ill-gotten gains. Still, one man's loss is another's gain, and if you're in Lodi, NJ, on September 12, you stand the chance to buy some of the ultimate muscle cars from the US Marshals in what is being gruesomely nicknamed the Blood Muscle auction.
The grisly moniker was earned because all of the vehicles belonged to the president of a blood testing company who is facing prison time for alleged bribery, according to Hemmings. After all, they are muscle cars bought with actual blood money. The seven-vehicle collection includes some of the ultimate muscle cars ever made, and the original buyer clearly had an eye for rarity.
This cornucopia of V8 power includes a teal 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429, a 1967 Shelby GT500 Mustang, an orange 1970 Plymouth Superbird, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS convertible and perhaps most prized of all - a trio of 1969 Yenko Chevys with a Chevelle, Nova and Camaro all represented. From the included photos, all of them look to be in fantastic condition.

Sat, 18 Jan 2014The Plymouth Superbird is one of those classic American cars from the muscle car era that has captured the imagination of all sorts of automotive enthusiasts long after its presence on roads and race tracks wore away. It's easy to see why. Where else but in the Swingin' Sixties and Seventies would a car leave the factory with an aerodynamics package that included a pointy beak and a rear spoiler that sat several feet above the rear deck?
The example you see above, which was born in 1970, is one of the finest Superbirds we've ever seen. Combine its complete restoration with its original 426 Hemi engine, and it's no surprise that it managed to bring in a cool half million dollars (plus 10 percent in fees) at Barrett-Jackson.
