1984 Nissan Sentra 2 door coupe with 1.7L Isuzu Diesel Engine.  What a rare find.  I have seen several of the Sentras with the 1.6L gasoline engine, but this is the only one I have ever seen with the diesel engine option.  The engine runs very well and cranks at the turn of the key.  I'll admit, it's not very powerful, but it does get great fuel mileage, somewhere between 35-40 mpg.  The car has had one non-smoking owner.  We purchased it new in 1984.  It has a clean NC title.  With a few exceptions, car is in a decent overall condition for its age.  This car was driven up unitl 2010. The engine clutch started slipping in 3rd and 4th gear and brakes started making some noise, so the car was parked.  The car will move under its own power now, but only in 1st, 2nd and reverse gear.  I did purchase a new set of brake rotors, pads, shoes and drums (Carquest brand) but have not installed them.  The front wheel drive cv joints make some noise when turned hard right all the way to lock and hard left all the way to lock when going forward.  It will also need wiper blades.  Has some rust on left and right front quarter panel and inside trunk area on both left and right fender well.  Left hand door has slight dent on outside and weather stripping leaks a little on that side.  Paint and bumpers are faded.  Interior is ok with some cracks on dash.  Radio plays but the lcd display does not work.  Only the left hand door speaker works.  The car does NOT have air conditioning.  The fan blower switch has 4 speeds.  The #2 speed does not work on the fan blower switch.  The speedometer works fine however the needle will not go down below 25 mph on the display, but will do up when driving at a higher speed.  The interior dome light cover is missing.  The car does show normal wear and tear for its age.

So here's to recap;  the car will need an engine clutch, brakes front and rear, cv joints (eventually) and wiper blades.

Here's what comes with the car:  set of front brake rotors, pads, rear brake shoes, drums (all Carquest brand),  6 engine oil filters NEW, 1 air filter NEW, and 1 fuel filter NEW.

Local inspection can be arranged or I can send more area specific pictures if needed.

2014 Nissan Rogue

Fri, 01 Nov 2013

When I first started in this whole automotive journalism biz, I held a sort of hodgepodge receptionist/gopher/production assistant role, and each morning as the staff filed in, I'd ask them how they liked whatever car they were assigned to drive the previous night. Most of my colleagues would regale me with anecdotes about how good or bad a vehicle was, but one co-worker, every single morning, would answer my query with the exact same phrase: "It was fine."
I always assumed this was just a brush-off, an "ask me again after I've had a cup of coffee" sort of response. But then I found myself in a similar moment of brevity following the launch of the 2014 Nissan Rogue earlier this week. After returning home, a friend asked me what I thought of the new Rogue, and I replied, word for word, "It was fine."
And, well, it was. Nothing worth wasting exclamation points over, good or bad. Aside from something like the interesting-to-drive Mazda CX-5 or funky-looking Jeep Cherokee, nothing in this class really tries to set the world on fire. And that, right there, is fine. Nissan doesn't need to do anything crazy with its second-generation Rogue. It just needs to offer a well-equipped crossover that's handsome, functional, efficient and priced right - sticking to the same formula that made the first-generation model so successful while offering the latest crop of creature comforts in a more modern package.

Nissan BladeGlider Concept shows its inner DeltaWing

Thu, 21 Nov 2013

Just like the DeltaWing and ZEOD RC racecars, it takes seeing the Nissan BladeGlider concept live to get a true appreciation for its design. But that doesn't mean it's any less weird. The wedge-shaped, three-seat concept car hit the stage today at the Tokyo Motor Show, and Nissan says the car is an "exploratory prototype" for a future production model.
The BladeGlider is defined by its design with front wheels that are just about three feet apart, while the rear has a more conventional track. Opening the scissor doors reveals a center driving position flanked by two passenger seats with a cockpit-inspired design. Although no power figures were revealed for the conceptual vehicle, Nissan does say that the BladeGlider is an all-electric vehicle with its battery pack mounted toward the rear of the car helping to provide a 30/70 weight distribution front to rear.
Check out our live images of the BladeGlider as well as the Nissan press release below.

Nissan recalls over 120,000 Altimas due to... spare tire inflation?!

Mon, 29 Apr 2013

A pressure regulator that over- or underinflated spare tires for five days earlier this year has led to a recall of 123,308 units of the 2013 Nissan Altima. Sedans that were manufactured from March 21-26 are those possibly affected by the temporary tire snafu, the recall for which will begin on May 3.
Those notified of the issue can take their sedans to their local Nissan dealer, who will check the tire pressure and correct it if necessary, but we imagine owners can probably just whip out a tire gauge to check and adjust the inflation for themselves. Should you need it, there's an official notice from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration below with a few more details.
