2004 Nissan Quest Minivan--low Miles--runs Great! on 2040-cars
Burlington, New Jersey, United States
Listed for sale is this 2004 Nissan Quest. The vehicle runs great. The engine and transmission function perfectly, and there are no drivetrain issues. It handles very well on the highway. The interior is in very good condition, showing minimal wear an tear. The exterior is also in good condition, but does have a few scuffs and scratches, which are shown in the pictures. There is a crack in the windshield, which just happened a few days ago, but that was considered in the price when van was listed. One thing I would like to point out is that the odometer works sparingly. The vehicle has 87K+ miles, but the mileage doesn't show most of the time. The mileage will appear, then not appear. This is a common problem with this vehicle. However, you can get the cluster repaired for as low as $75. In fact, there are listing on EBay that provide this service. Owner decided not to this done since she was already selling the vehicle so low. The Carfax will show that the vehicle was purchased in Mar 2010 with 55K miles on it. Overall, this is a very nice and reliable vehicle, and it would be hard to beat this price. Although this auction is for 3 days, the owner would like to end it as quickly as possible. So submit your best offers early. Thanks and Good Luck! |

NHTSA probing whether to call Nissan to the carpet over Versa unintended acceleration
Mon, 30 Jun 2014The Nissan Versa and Versa Note may have a carpeting problem that could make the little cars risky to drive. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is launching a preliminary evaluation into the 2012-2014 model year versions of the Versa, Versa Sedan and Versa Note, affecting an estimated 360,000 vehicle. In these vehicles, it's possible that the driver's foot could be caught where the carpet meets a trim panel near the accelerator. The regulator has four reported instances of the issue, but it's still collecting data from Nissan about any further cases.
According to the complaints, the tunnel carpet cover trim panel can possibly snag the drivers' right shoe where it meets the carpet, and can either keep their foot on the accelerator or prevent moving it to the brake pedal. In one case, the problem was bad enough that the driver had to free his foot using his hand, while driving. In two of the four reported cases, the vehicles were rental cars.
This is actually the second ongoing preliminary evaluation for some of these models. In late May, NHTSA started looking into the 2013-2014 Versa and 2014 Versa Note for long brake pedal travel.
Preserving automotive history costs big bucks

$1.8 million is spent each year to maintain GM's fleet of 600 production and concept cars.
When at least two of the Detroit Three were on the verge of death a few years back, one of the tough questions that was asked of Ford, General Motors and Chrysler execs - outside of why execs were still taking private planes to meetings - was why each company maintained huge archives of old production and concept vehicles. GM, for example, had an 1,100-vehicle collection when talk of a federal bailout began.
2015 Nissan Versa Sedan continues to prioritize space and price over looks
Wed, 16 Apr 2014Nissan's refresh of its cavernous Versa Sedan is on hand today at the 2014 New York Auto Show. While we continue to appreciate the Versa for its space and low price, this slight restyling of the four-door sedan hasn't done much for its uninspiring appearance.
Newly enlarged headlights and a reworked, more Altima-like grille are the biggest changes to the front of this Versa, although Nissan has also added some brightwork around the revised foglight housings. Integrated turn signals liven up the mirrors, while the rear of the car wears a new and almost strangely sporty bumper.
Perhaps more importantly for prospective owners, Nissan has also made a few interior tweaks, with a new steering wheel and a revised center stack leading the change. There's some new available tech on the top-end SL model, as well.
