I have decided to sell my recently acquired (Dec 2013) 2014 Nissan GT-R Black Edition.  Colour is Jet Black with 6,500 kilometres (4,000 Miles).  The vehicle is located on Vancouver Island in Nanaimo, British Columbia.

VIN:  JN1AR5EF7EM270236

The vehicle was purchased new from Campus Nissan in Victoria, British Columbia.  It was traded in a few months later in Richmond, British Columbia where I then acquired it.  Full vehicle service history is available, and was completed at Regency Nissan in North Vancouver.  Next service is due in September 2014/9,000 klms for an oil change.  2 year POS is due March 2015.

The vehicle is stock [with the exception of items listed below] and has not been mechanically modified in any way, at any time.  Since purchasing the vehicle the following items have been added:

CKC - Folding Mirror Module
CKC - Reverse Beep Defeater
Stillen Skid Plate

Sale will also include a Stillen Front Plate Mount (tow hook location)

In May 2014 the vehicle was fully detailed with Menzerna products.  The car had a CQuartz UK coating applied at that time.  I regularly maintain and detail the vehicle with weekly washes, interior cleaning, and engine cleaning.  It is essentially a new car, in perfect condition.

Nissan recalling 104k Juke models over faulty timing chain [UPDATE]

Thu, 15 May 2014

General Motors isn't the only manufacturer that gets to issue a recall today, as Nissan is set to announce a voluntary recall of the 2011 to 2013 Juke due to a fault with the timing chain. 104,439 units are affected by this recall. The timing chain in some Jukes could deteriorate over time, leading to a warning light in the instrument cluster. In extreme cases, the chain could snap.
Owners of affected vehicles are being notified, and will need to report to their local dealership. The free repairs will replace the timing chain, chain guides and crank sprocket.
Take a look below for a short statement to Autoblog from Nissan.

Nissan applies for 'R-Hybrid' trademark, but what is it for?

Wed, 28 Aug 2013

Patent and trademark filings are sort of like tasseography for those of us in the auto industry. If you know where and how to look at something, there's a lot to be figured out. Take this trademark filing from Nissan - it's similar to the Pure Drive badge found on a Versa or Sentra, but the bottom half sports the phrase "R-Hybrid." This wouldn't be remarkable if the "R" in R-Hybrid weren't the same style as the "R" in the Nissan GT-R's badge, right down to the serifs.
While it's easy to see this as grasping at straws, it makes a fair degree of sense. The R35 GT-R may be a dominant performance machine, but it's been around since 2008, which is donkey years in the automotive industry. And based on the recent crop of hybridized hypercars and racecars, a hybrid GT-R doesn't seem like such a stretch.
As Car And Driver points out, figuring out that the GT-R will go hybrid isn't hard - figuring out when it will arrive, is. The buff book rightly points out that a new GT-R isn't expected until 2017, but that designing and trademarking a badge four years ahead of time is a bit odd. Car and Driver speculates that we could see a mildly hybridized R35, although the chances do seem remarkably low. Head over to C/D for a more thorough rundown on why this just might be a GT-R badge, including comparisons with other R-badged Nissans.

Watch Nissan's autonomous Leaf in action

Sun, 06 Oct 2013

Getting its semi-autonomous Leaf legalized in Japan was just the first step. Now, Nissan is giving demonstrations of what its fully autonomous car is capable of at this year's Combined Exhibition of Advanced Technologies (CEATEC) show - Japan's equivalent to America's Consumer Electronics Show. To show off the possibilities of its technologies, Nissan had an oval track set up at the show giving rides in an autonomous Leaf to the media. Even Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosn and Toyota CEO Akio Toyodo caught a ride.
Nissan has since released a couple videos of its CEATEC demos, with one designed to look like a news report. In this video, you can watch the car go around the track and navigate intersections and road hazards. The second video shows Ghosn riding in the car, and he hints that Nissan's goal of having an autonomous vehicle in production by 2020 might be more of a worst-case scenario. Watch both videos and read through Nissan's official press release below.
