119k mi on car. 120k mi service already done. New timing belt, water pump, idlers, spark plugs, serpentine belt, etc.

It's somewhere around 350 and 400 horse at the wheels. This car is really fast. The mods are valued at around $6k in parts. American Hobbyist insures it at $16k.

It had a salvage title in California where the shop rebuilt and tuned it. There are no latent issues with the accident, which was a minor rear-ender. I had no problems titling it in Virginia.

This will be hard to let go but my driving record and insurance prices are getting worse. My loss is your gain.

I'm also listing this locally and reserve the right to cancel at any time.

Renault and Nissan forge deeper alliance

Tue, 18 Mar 2014

If the automotive industry's current era could be summarized by one trend - from a corporate aspect, anyway - surely it would be conglomeration. But of all the major auto groups that have emerged over the past several years, none have kept themselves at arm's length quite like the Renault-Nissan Alliance.
Much like Fiat and Chrysler, Renault and Nissan are presided over by a common chief executive. But whereas Sergio Marchionne's Italian-American alliance has moved swiftly from a transatlantic partnership to a merged company in the span of less than five years, Carlos Ghosn's Franco-Japanese alliance has stood oceans apart since 1999. But now the Renault-Nissan Alliance is following the lead set by Fiat Chrysler Automobiles in bridging that distance through several key measures.
For one, Renault and Nissan will make increased use of common platforms, R&D, systems and testing. The two automakers will also cooperate more closely on manufacturing and supply chain management, purchasing and human resources. To manage the increased cooperation, the alliance has appointed several new executive vice presidents from within its ow ranks and a new management committee to be chaired by Ghosn, details about which you can read in the press release below.

Nissan teases new pickup on Twitter [w/video]

Nissan is celebrating 80 years of building pickup trucks by teasing its latest one on Twitter ahead of a June 11 reveal. Official information about the new vehicle is essentially nonexistent at the moment, but there are some clues to extrapolate from.
There's a special member of the #Nissan family on the way. Due date: June 11th. pic.twitter.com/OkQ0GkXypV

Nissan buys jalopy Maxima after seeing filmmaker's epic sales ad

Thu, 19 Dec 2013

When Luke Akers wanted to sell his 1996 Nissan Maxima GLE - yes, the one seen above that needs a ratchet strap to keep the front end from bursting with joy - the Florida filmmaker turned on his cameras and yelled "Quiet on set!" The result is a one-minute videographic homage to mankind's monuments, narrated with all the intensity of a BBC documentary to sell a 17-year-old sports sedan that comes "fully loaded with an engine, wheels, tires and an automatic transmission."
Just like the car in question, the ad did its job: Nissan bought the Maxima from Akers and the company donated another $1,000 to his charity of choice. Three cheers to both Akers and Nissan for their work. You can check out the video below, and head to the Ikonik Films site for the humorous print ads that were also part of the campaign.
